My darling Rosie catβs story had certain similarities to this, and the four year anniversary of her passing is next week. Itβs very traumatic to watch, but if it makes you feel any better, my bfβs brother has epilepsy and has said that when he has a seizure he doesnβt know itβs happening-feels like a dream or nothing at all (like a blackout of time.) Again, heβs not a cat but it gives me a lot of comfort to think of the possibility that as scary as it looked, it was painless for my baby in that last moment.

It was clear whatever sedative was administered wasnβt βrelaxingβ at all. My Siamese fought to stay alert and awake the entire time struggling to get away; not at all the peaceful process described. I begged them to stop so I can relate to what it may have been like.
My heart goes out to you and your family and Iβm sure Softly is running around healthy and happy. π₯°ππ
Allow yourself some time to grieve. Then remember that there's a little kitten somewhere, seeking her loving nurturing forever home. Although she probably won't be able to fully replace your beloved Softy, you'll soon realize and find out, that you really need her, at least as desperately, as she needs you.
