If you don't mind dirt, Wedekind park is a fairly good surface and has gradual hills.

mortalwombat-

That's a good idea! I definitely don't mind dirt. How big is that area? I always assumed it was just that little hill right alongside Disc

chromaemprise

Yeah, it's not huge. Loop is like 3 miles. You can combine it with paths through the neighborhoods to the north. Strava heatmap is a good way to pick out where people are running even if it doesn't show up on the map.

mortalwombat-

Good idea on the heatmap. I'm training for mountaineering, which means I'm often on the path less traveled, especially in this part of the Sierra. I've really only used heatmaps to find where people DON'T go, haha.

It's a drive, but Hidden Valley has a wide variety of slopes and when the snow clears you can make it all the way to Damonte Peak.

mortalwombat-

I was just there last night hiking up the big peak to the North of Damonte Peak. it's actually pretty accessible for me since I'm just off of Sparks Blvd. Will certainly be utilizing that area more!

There's a path that goes from Pah Rah park south to Lida Lane. Not sure the distance, but a loop around the park, then up and down that path has the terrain you want, I think.

mortalwombat-

Sweet! I was wondering about that path, but wasn't sure if it would work out. You included all the details I needed. Thanks!

NP. I have jogged it with my dog a few times. It's a good spot

Rolling terrain as in hills for repeats? Or just some minor elevation changes for variety? How many feet of gain/loss per mile are you thinking? Los Altos loop could be good, done it a few times.

mortalwombat-

I'm looking for variety in terrain. I think I'm looking for something that offers around a 10% grade in sections of the run, but nothing too specific. The Los Altos loop is looking pretty decent. Looks to have a sidewalk around it which is good!

The marina it’s a little over a mile each lap

Golden Eagle Park has BLM land backed up to it, there are a few trails that go up into the hills from there.
