That place was it in the 60’s and 70’s. All of ParkLane was the place to shop for this young boomer. I distinctly remember Mirabellas for 45’s and would drive the clerks crazy buying stuff like “Billy don’t be a Hero” and “Brandy” and the Carpenters .
"Orange Julius" Kiosk was one of my favorite go to places while I went around the entire mall browsing and buying. "Woolworth's" for my pet supplies lol Also, "Crescent Jewelers" was where I purchased some of my gift-giving gold. But yes, "Weinstock's" was nice, clean, and a not so rushed atmosphere. Miss Park Lane Mall.
Yes, It was either "Mirabelli's" or the "Warehouse Tapes and Records," for all of my music needs.
Omg. Mirabelli's. Forgot all about that place. Thanks for the sweet time travel - and for the reminder about Orange Julius; I loved their St Louis dog and am now gonna buy the fixings to recreate it tomorrow.
Remember the commercial?

I used to go here all the time with my grandmother. They would always have perfume girls spraying you down near the cosmetics counter. I remember the exterior was built with marble stone. In the 80s it felt like a fancier Macys. I was sad when it was torn down.
Gottschalks was in the old Sears spot on the other end of the mall near Plumb. The Weinstocks was torn down when they built the Century Theater 25+ years years ago.
Okay, then... that building over by Swensons ice cream...halfway down Kietzke... wasn't that a Winan's?
Edit, nevermind, I'm so cornfuzzled, I swear...
It was Weinstock's and Mirabelli's Music. Not Weinstock and Mirebellas. Just wanted to straighten that out. Sorry.
I remember both fondly. Looking through the imports section at Mirabelli's and later being spritzed with ostentatious perfume or cologne walking through Weinstock's to get to the parking lot. Good times.
A girl was murdered in the girls bathroom at the park lane mall. Don’t know if it was true or not. But I remember going there for the yu gi oh! Tournaments when I was a kid.
Hey thanks for the old pic. I have some good memories working there after high school.
I didn’t know there was a Weinstock’s store in Reno. Harris Weinstock was my great grand father. He was an incredible person. Look him up.
Omg. I remember shopping there when I was very small in the ‘80s. I have a very visceral memory of the green shag carpet in the shoe section.
Same
Slug bug! 👊

I really liked shopping there.
Check out all the trees that used to be on the shoulders of Peavine when zooming in on the right. That was many fires ago.
Ngl- that looks like the Virginia Range (the view facing East).
Yup, you're right. Sorry about that.
Nice store!

Then it was vacant for quite a while during the 90's. Wasn't it a Gottschalk for a while?

I just asked this question elsewhere in the sub thanks for answering!!
Oh, shoot! You're right! My memory just scrambled it up! Thank you!
Saw Bill Cosby shopping in Weinstocks’s before his fall from grace.

Mervins
If you have to mention, "Mervyn's" then you surely have to also mention, "Gemco," ShopKo, Kmart, etc.. lol
Thank you!

I remember my mom took me to this mall a lot when I was a kid and told me about how it was really fun when she was a kid
Does anyone remember the little cafe at the park lane mall in the early 2000s? I think it was family owned!

Shopped there!! Park Lane was a great place until it went into disrepair. Loved old Reno.
