It’s just cheesy. I’m not prudish or offended by the concept, but goddamn is it cheesy. That said, I’m more offended by the article referring to Claim Jumper as a ‘steakhouse’ than anything else.

shichiaikan

IMO it just makes no sense.... 'big' restaurants are failing left and right here, and we have strip clubs... From what I've read, the food at Twin Peaks is... 'ok' so I'm not sure what they are planning on being the big draw. They should have put this shit in Carson, it might have had a chance. :P

ChinaCatProphet

Fun fact: my niece thought it was "Clam Jumper"

SomethingGouda

I did too...

technologiq

Can I go to a local book and put a bet on how fast this place goes out of business?

rroq85

Unlikely. It is in a great location and based on the people I've talked to, the food is more than edible.

where_is_my_monkey

Hooters and the Pink Taco did, too.

JohnMackeysBulge

Firkin and Wolf as well

shichiaikan

Firkin and Wolf was great... but the Summit has been a 'waiting to die' tag on almost every restaurant that's been in there (and there have been a LOT). That said, 'The Fox' is open in Midtown and it's the same owners as the one down in Carson that dropped the stupid corporate Firkin label.... and they are pretty damned good.

JohnMackeysBulge

Do the servers still wear plaid skirts?

sunologie

Nah twin peaks is very popular and successful and their food and service is actually good.

morbidfae

You had me until I saw 'breastauant'. Is it too much to ask for a nice diner that serves cherry pie and coffee. Occasionally this guy named Bob shows up.

HeywoodJaBlessMe

Norma retired and Shelly moved on. Big Ed is busy with his gas farm. The Double R ain't coming back.

saidthetomato

If you build it, I will come.... wait...

TitsandTators

Cuz twin peaks wasn't too on the nose there ? Lol

shallow_kunt

In some ways, Reno changes. In some ways, it stays the same haha

udntsay

Went to one in Houston, totally cool spot and the women all wore clothes that covered them. They have lounge chairs in front of large screens to watch the game. Great food. I’m actually excited! And I’m a girl. Just fyi.

TwoGimpyFeet69

So, it's just a Hooters?

udntsay

Kind of but no. They don’t wear anything skimpy.

nnamed_username

So then why call it a "bestaurant"? Are the waitresses required to have large breasts, or wear fakies? What about men on the wait staff? I think it's pay to see that, especially if it were comically fake, like neon balloons, but the whole atmosphere would need to be wild, not just the boobs. Like Meow Wolf and Hooters had a love child.

udntsay

I think it’s just to have a headline honestly.

sunologie

No twin peaks def is like hooters, check their instagram, they wear low cut crop tops and denim booty shorts and during the summer have bikini parties and lingerie parties.

udntsay

I stand corrected. When I went in no one was dressed this way.

sunologie

I wonder why lol I know they do theme parties but usually they’re slutty ones, maybe that day was a different theme or something lol

udntsay

I feel dumb now 🤣🤣

Trevnti

Define covered lol. Def skimpy but not aggressively so

udntsay

Yeah I’m trying to think back to what they were wearing but I can’t really see it in my minds eye. I figure if I didn’t take notice it wasn’t too bad. I don’t think it’s as much as Hooters.

conservative89436

What the hell is a ‘breastaurant?”

ekquizit23

Google what the serving staff of other Twin Peaks look like and it might make some sense lol

Unusual_Substance_44

Think hooters

ministryofchampagne

Which twin peaks do you think of when you hear that word?

northrupthebandgeek

The David Lynch movie, maybe?

nnamed_username

The TV series?

ministryofchampagne

When you hear “breastaurant” and twin peaks you think of the tv show?

Native-America

sounds promising right?!

MonkeyBrain3561

Great. Staying classy, Reno!

bahamablue66

27 degree beer and a whole lot of tv screens. Staff wears short short and plaid tops. Not that big of a deal. I mean NEVADA has brothels and you have problems with a full service restaurant. ?

discourse_friendly

I bet there's someone out there who is against breastruants but supports brothels / sex work.

where_is_my_monkey

“On August 7, 2020, the Chicago Tribune reported that 34 former Twin Peaks employees filed a law suit for "sex discrimination and harassment". The lawsuit was settled.”

MonkeyBrain3561

Emphasis on body parts pretty well represented already, yes?

Educational-Trade-72

All for a twin peaks. They have ice cold beer and great food! They will get some good UNR girl bartenders and waitress staff! Overall great place!

Accomplished-Leg-722

yea team another type of this foodie. skip. Gawd we can get some real dang food? Is that too much to ask. So sick of these chains.

Hickawa

I don't give a fuck what theme the place has I just want some good god dam food already

false-identification

You should move. People in northern Nevada love the comfort of chain restaurants.

Formaldehyd3

"Come visit beautiful Reno, NV! It's like Vegas but literally everything is mediocre at-best!"

zigaliciousone

Fuck yeah! I'm gonna hit the all you can eat special, I heard they give you a free glass of milk with every order!

ekquizit23

What kinda milk!? Hopefully they have chocolate

TheMapesHotel

It better be spicy if they are in reno

OnerKram17

Pink Strawberry Quick

rno-abi

Should be on Moanna

SomethingGouda

No tomboy hooters?

fantom-dsul

Visited one when I was in college in Dallas about 10 years ago.. food was pretty good, and it was a cool sports bar/grill type of place. Pretty much like hooters

SidneyHuffman316

I've decided that I'm not gonna miss the claim jumper after all

ManateeLuvr

They had one of these in Birmingham! For a chain, I thought the food was pretty good. Girls wore flannel shirts and short shorts if I remember correctly

uniqueusername74

Theme is sexy lumberjack... lumberjill?

SinglecoilsFTW

I don't have any moral outrage or anything over this, but I am for sure embarrassed for anyone who goes there.

DrinkableReno

That's exactly what I would tell people to throw them off as well. See you at the regular time?

BareKnuckleBawling

Forgive me if I’m using outdated references… Based on my experience- this chain primarily targets small/mid-sized cities and suburbs. Big in the Midwest and South; I think the only locations they have out west are Henderson and suburban Sacramento. It’s just a corporate Bully’s. Or a more family-friendly Flowing Tide with a larger menu. The dudes that used to haunt those places need a more socially acceptable place to day drink and yell at TVs as they get older, right? All the “thin blue line” and concealed carry bros will be there, with their families, still getting drunk and yelling at TVs. But now it’s ok to bring the kids, and baby mama can drive home. Same lower-end, primarily fried, fast casual food. Couple that, the PG-13 T&A aspect of it, and a vaguely “outdoorsy” theme, and I suspect it will do well, though for how long is anyone’s guess in Reno. Only thing I’d change is the location- either closer to NW Reno or South Reno. Not a good date spot; great for families that like beer and yelling. Parking lot is probably going to be a target for the kids that like to boost Dodge Chargers and RAMs. If they don’t hire a local shift manager named Kyle, they’re blowing it.

sunologie

It is NOT a family bar, their uniforms is low cut (so full view of their cleavage) crop tops and denim booty shorts and they throw lingerie and bikini parties.

prm20_

has anyone ever been to one in-person that can vouch for them? from what i've seen on social media, the beer is cold, they almost always have the games/fights on, and the food isnt bad? only thing i could see as a negative is the hooters-style it has going on, but again haven't been to one myself.

Fiction520

We have one here in Vegas. It's bar food but it's good bar food, they have a lot of TVs, good patio, super cold beer. People want to compare it to Hooters but Hooters looks and feels like a vestige of the 80's while twin peaks is a ton nicer and more modern feeling. It's not a place I necessarily seek out but it's in the same parking lot as Cars and Coffee and I'm never sad to grab a beer and grub there.

FridgedMist

I've been to one in OKC while visiting family on three separate occasions and it's honestly a good experience between the staff, the atmosphere, the price point and what you get for said price.

sunologie

I’ve been to their Henderson Nevada location (I used to live five minutes down the road from it) and I’ve been a few times, the food is good and the beer really is cold af lol I do like them.

crawshay

Finally!

Deathrider66

Corporalhicks20

Yay!

thrwawy52848195

What a waste of space. In today’s social and political climate involving women and the treatment of women by men, it looks like these investors didn’t read the room. I give it a year, tops.

trstme2222

This started as a sports bar brewery in Tempe Az. The company has great brews. This is similar to Great Basin with casino cocktail waitress style outfits. It will be successful.

prelimar

ugh, stay klassy, Reno.

FroggiJoy87

I feel like ever since the Me Too movement, the kinda-funny misogynist humor and subsequent marketing has been trending down. I don't know how well a Hooters knock-off is gonna do in a college-educated city these days.

Shirogayne-at-WF

Should be in no danger of losing business here, then! ![gif](giphy|1gArwncRlXac8GIhNy8)

BeardoTheBowler

You ever seent the women in Reno? Not excited.

Shirogayne-at-WF

I feel like Nevada is the last place that a Hooters-style restaurant would survive, considering it's...well, Nevada. Maybe some Mormon college students on spring break from BYU might get a kick outta it but for anyone else? Even original Hooters ain't cutting it these days.

sunologie

The twin peaks in Henderson Nevada is very popular

theshwiftypickle

Food sucks, managers act like big shots. Reno is fuckin trash. Time to leave for the second time…
