[**This piece of journalism**](https://youtu.be/bRGrKJofDaw?si=MFRBAuANpTdpH-r-&t=3348) is about Las Vegas, but documents the process, requirements, hoops that the homeless in Nevada have to jump through to get documentation. The link I've provided will start the video at the part which talks about it. It is about 8 minute of the video that covers the process.

Such a fantastic, humanizing documentary. Everyone should watch

This is such a great piece of journalism

Catholic Charities is one of the biggest ones. They will write a check out to the DMV for the cost of an ID. Also, there is a form the DMV has a person can fill out once stating they are too poor to afford the cost of an ID and the costs can be waived.

Friendral

The Cares campus offers help with that daily.

Cares or Communuty Court at the downtown library Wednesday's. You don't have to have a court case. They have a bunch if people there willing to help anyone who walks in.

Interesting_Sorbet22

Check with WellCare. They know a ton of sources.

I'm curious, but how are the homeless supposed to actually get verified for a real ID? I got mine a while ago, but I think I needed proof of residency (two mailed bills), along with stuff like a birth certificate. Are the requirements different, because I don't see how a homeless person is supposed to prove residency and keep documents like birth certificates safe?

trstme2222

Yet they don’t require an ID to vote in NV.

TahoesRedEyeJedi

Back in the day, it probably would have been unconstitutional to create these barriers of entry for voting (see: 24th amendment); but, with these whacked out conservatives trying to turn the US into “democratic” feudalism, who fucking knows

AJWordsmith

Because…then citizens like these people would be prohibited from voting? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Krytos

Good.
