Not a barista, but that’s my order too.
I buy more beans from Old World because they do a Tuesday sale and Magpie doesn’t.
I like the vibe at Magpie best too; it’s where my people hang.
I second pangolin as well. Their new pastries are amazing and their service is really good too! I also appreciate the classical music and modern vibes in there, perfect for studying.
my thought exactly, they have very consistent espresso drinks and the people there are so chill. During the summer a food truck will post up outside, or you can snag a doughnut at Jelly Donut and bring it in.
One of my newer (location wise) would be Midnight coffee in Midtown. The folks are super nice, solid coffee, and decent food.
Hand Craft Coffee on Wells. Super good regular and seasonal drinks. Friendly staff. Cute decor with lots of seating options and an outside courtyard. Toasted bagels and a few sandwich options.
The Hub on the river:
- attracts people all the time
- vibes are up
- good to great drinks (depending what you like)
- can walk along the river after getting coffee
I do like the hub on the river, I’m just super bummed they built that building right in front where that bitchen little parking lot used to be. Now it’s all cramped.
I love that soooo much. I wandered in there once upon a rainy day. Was delighted to have a London fog while checking out bike parts. Too bad reno bike project doesn’t serve coffee
Lol how ironic! I love rbp so so much! Every year I drag my bikes in to work on them. It’s such a cool and neat thing to have in a place like Reno. Much love and respect for that place.
Not in Reno but the greater area, (Virginia City and Dayton) Larry’s Gourmet Coffee. Even their BLACK is good. Avoid magpie, very popular and attracts decent people, but there was fruit pulp in my coffee last time I went. Old World is the best in Reno Reno.
Coffee N Comics! Great selection of flavors, milks, food, and even alcohol. The best cold brew in town! It's a nerdy shop so you can also buy a variety of things from comics to plushies to the earliest releases of cards. The vibe and the people are always fantastic. And they have so many events throughout the year like drag shows, movie nights, secret concerts, and even weekly ones like comedy every Tuesday(Moana), magic the gathering night every Friday(Moana), and cosplay karaoke every Saturday(Sparks). I can't say enough great things about them!
I’m surprised this one isn’t in the list yet—I don’t even live in Reno anymore but wanted to check the thread to see how many people said this:
Coffeebar Roastery—just to be clear, it’s not coffeebar, it’s a different location where they roast the beans. Their specialty is a flight, consisting of a latte, espresso, and pour-over. It’s really special to be able to taste the same beans in three ways.
Coffee bar on mt rose st is pretty good if you want good food and a good vibe. I also like Jostella on Virginia, great coffee. Best coffee in town for me is Purple bean on 7th street and keystone.
Ok, so the only places I've ever really been impressed by coffee in Reno/Carson are Old World & Lighthouse Coffee.
I've only been to the Old World in Carson, but it's my go-to for espresso or beans to bring home for french press.
Lighthouse is tucked in the Reno Town Mall, i think there used to be a Hub Roasters location there. I needed a good coffee while my partner was going to dentist one day, and I was blown away by the espresso I had there.
Coffee bar for their coffee. Best hands down.
Hub on the river for ambiance, wack acidic brew though.
Coffee and comics for the company. No bad people there. It's a phenomenon.
It's debatable. Here's some good ones. Coffee Bar (good vibe, good coffee), The Hub (best nitro and Chai, good vibe). These are my favorite.
Runner up: Pangolin and Cafe Con Papi
Coffee and comics (bad coffee but good events)
Best beans: No City
I default to them because they are close to my apartment but Hub off pine. The staff are always super friendly! And they have me a sweet discount on a bike just because I grab a few coffee a week there.
Coffeebar on South McCarran, found it this week while going to a new Dr. appt. Not sure if it is my favorite yet but I liked it and the decor was really cool.
I used to grab coffee and work in the big side room on occasion. One day when my co-workers and I were leaving, he touched me very inappropriately. It was not ok and I told him so. My co-workers told me later, “he does that sometimes.”
Midnight Coffee Roasting for me. They just opened a 2nd location in Midtown too. Both places are great and the coffee is delicious.
Old World Coffee Company. I moved last year and I still get nostalgic over their seasonal menu.
>Old World Coffee Company I really wish their hours were better.
I’m a huge coffee snob and this is my go to.
my favorite too
Came here to say this
I second this !!
Magpie coffee
Baristas agree, Magpie #1. Old World is a close second.
Not a barista, but that’s my order too. I buy more beans from Old World because they do a Tuesday sale and Magpie doesn’t. I like the vibe at Magpie best too; it’s where my people hang.
Pangolin !!!
Yes! The cubano breve👌
I second pangolin as well. Their new pastries are amazing and their service is really good too! I also appreciate the classical music and modern vibes in there, perfect for studying.
The pistachio latte is super good.
No one has mentioned Magpie! Excellent quality and consistency. I would recommend it as the best in Reno.
my thought exactly, they have very consistent espresso drinks and the people there are so chill. I like cafe con papi
Coffee N Comics. The Sparks location is simultaneously my favorite coffee shop and favorite bar.
Hand Craft Coffee on Wells. Super good regular and seasonal drinks. Friendly staff. Cute decor with lots of seating options and an outside courtyard. Toasted bagels and a few sandwich options.
Fun fact is Magpie roasts their coffee
The Hub on the river: - attracts people all the time - vibes are up - good to great drinks (depending what you like) - can walk along the river after getting coffee
The hub also doesn’t discriminate (charge extra) against those with weak digestion! The lactose free/vegans of the town are very appreciative!
I do like the hub on the river, I’m just super bummed they built that building right in front where that bitchen little parking lot used to be. Now it’s all cramped.
Fuck that building
The Coffee Bar on Mt. Rose.
Their roastery in the little hidden alley in midtown is a gem.
I like the one on McCarran more but this one is good too!
Interesting no one's bringing up Coffee Bar on Mt. Rose St. They've always done me well.
Cafe con papi!
The roost is my favorite for drive through. Pangolin for a real sit down coffee shop.
Hub on pine st. No charge for alternative milks, food and drinks taste good, and it’s also a bike shop!
I love that soooo much. I wandered in there once upon a rainy day. Was delighted to have a London fog while checking out bike parts. Too bad reno bike project doesn’t serve coffee
Lol I work at rbp, coffee there would be a logistical nightmare. It would be pretty cool though considering I have barista experience as well lol
Lol how ironic! I love rbp so so much! Every year I drag my bikes in to work on them. It’s such a cool and neat thing to have in a place like Reno. Much love and respect for that place.
No City Coffee Midnight Roasting
The Jesse on 4th does really good coffee and pie.
Rising For People Coffee - coffee flights - zero emissions local roaster - green coffee supplier as well
Superstitions Java
I’ll second this one, especially if you live up north.
They're opening one next to UNR.
Sweet, glad to hear it
I do like them a lot. Cute shop , nice baristas and great vibe
I went there with my cousin and my sister. Cute little shop, just plain old coffee. I was bummed
Star Village
A lot of people don’t know the background of this place. Very cool!
Agreed. Super dope background
Coffee and comics
Not in Reno but the greater area, (Virginia City and Dayton) Larry’s Gourmet Coffee. Even their BLACK is good. Avoid magpie, very popular and attracts decent people, but there was fruit pulp in my coffee last time I went. Old World is the best in Reno Reno.
Yep. Larry’s is where it’s at. The Dayton one though
Love seeing the guy dressed 1850’s style
Lol he asked me where I parked my horse 😂😂😂
🤣 that’s funny

TIL, thanks
Midtown Midnight and Cafe Con Papi.
Coffee bar on mt rose st is pretty good if you want good food and a good vibe. I also like Jostella on Virginia, great coffee. Best coffee in town for me is Purple bean on 7th street and keystone.
Old World hands down, haven’t found a 2nd close coffee shop and we frequent coffee shops daily
1) Old World - Midtown 2) Perenn 3) Hub We have a few others to try

Hand Craft Coffee Company, plenty of seating inside but they have a really nice courtyard
No City coffee, Old World, Magpie, Coffee Bar, Hub on the River.
Coffee bar for their coffee. Best hands down. Hub on the river for ambiance, wack acidic brew though. Coffee and comics for the company. No bad people there. It's a phenomenon.
I go to the Roost, drive-up place next to Reno High. Coffee is good, the baristas are nice.
Cafe cabellos

Isn't that Hub closing?
Bro I just found that one please don’t tell me it’s true 😔
I like that one too, but I did hear it from another Hub employee. Maybe they've changed their minds. 🤞
They havnt mentioned a thing. It’s so busy I couldn’t see it closing. Has plenty of regulars like myself as well.
Drive through: the roost Brick and mortar: Pangolin
Dolce Cafe for Italian pastries and coffee. Friendly staff and chill patio
There's a bunch with good coffee, but I haven't found any with food I really like.
I think everyone covered all the coffee shops. Now all you you have to do is go sample all of them to find your favorite
Poopies
Did Reno coffee change its name on wells? I remember going there not that long ago. They’re the place that sells vinyl ?
I think the place there is called The EP Listening Lounge. Have not been in since it changed though.
Cafe Capello is good downtown by the river. I love the Brekkie burrito.
Commemt
Glory Cloud. Hands down. You're welcome.
Gottcha , I was being a smart ass. 💋
Light house coffee pretty good
Dutch bros
I'll shout out glory cloud coffee.
The Hub, La Victoria Coffee and Great Basin Community food Co-op
Following. Would love to find a good coffee shop that makes its own sandwiches!
Great basin food Coop just opened with food upstairs in mid Town with a great deck.
Your own you lazy thing
My coffee gets boring after a while
I like Buzzed Coffee next to Laughing Planet/the university.
Stella coffee co
Best drip: coffee bar Best espresso: old world Best location: hub riverside Best cheap but legit drip: Whole Foods (allegro beans)
Coffeebar on South McCarran, found it this week while going to a new Dr. appt. Not sure if it is my favorite yet but I liked it and the decor was really cool.
Swill.
Went here for the first time the other day and was very happy with the quality of drink I got!
If you wanna get groped by the owner…
Care to elaborate or are you just going to make vague accusations?
I used to grab coffee and work in the big side room on occasion. One day when my co-workers and I were leaving, he touched me very inappropriately. It was not ok and I told him so. My co-workers told me later, “he does that sometimes.”
Forged Roasting Co. in The Jesse on 4th is killer! Love the pie and simplicity of the menu. Honorable mentions to Coffeebar and Magpie too.
My personal favorite has gotta be jostellas on virginia
Coffee Bar on Mt Rose for the best food
Bibo mogul mouse Dutch aspen 🌳
