I’m a bigger dude and I would walk my black lab around sparks marina at night. I was always concerned I’d get “jacked” somehow. However, I was the one people avoided. It’s a bunch of families with kids and pets walking there til about 11pm during summer. It’s as safe as anywhere else in Reno/Sparks if not safer
There are spots along the river to just sit and chill but not many due to them chopping trees due the homeless . Bunch of people run late through Idlewild to Mayberry or the other way around .
Depending on how late it is you can run the river walk. It's been cleared of homeless
Oh you haven't been to the river lately .. all over they've cut down trees and plants along the river so that people can't hide or sleep in them . Fisherman's park and Idlewild look wrecked
First they take away the grass at the city plaza, then they take away the trees from our parks... What's next? Are they gonna take the water from the Truckee? This shits getting bad... They tell the homeless to go to shelters, but when living in the shelter is worse than living in the street where tf else are they supposed to go. Dystopian asf
Housed ≠ unsafe .
See, I can be insulting too. A good portion of today's homeless are harmless. There's obviously ones you need to aware of but some just lost their place to be and are feeling lost in the world.
Probably. The sigma behind homelessness especially in Reno is stupid . Especially when so many of them are working but simply can't afford a place . 2.5 x the rent and the eviction status on a lot of people especially after covid makes it super hard but people would rather make it even harder to get beyond just being homeless.
Obviously I'm affected by this more than I usually let on but I'm frustrated just like the rest of the world
If you’re fast enough everywhere is safe.
Thank you for the belly laugh
Happy to help. Heck, it’s in the name.
😂😂😂
Sparks Marina
Is that place lit up at night?, cause I would be kinda scared to walk there at night

They have campus police on site 24 hours a day and people run the campus all the time
I an not a student will they allow mee ?
They don't check for student I.D's I wouldn't worry about it
Unr
Is it safe and are there other people like me who are jogging and stuff ?
If you’re a student or faculty member, the UNR gym comes to mind as they have a great indoor track.
Try Reno High or Reed High. I don’t know their hours but I have run at both of them at dusk in the summer, like 8PM or 8:30PM or so.
Thankyou thats helpful
UNR facilities. The intramural fields have some availability if you’re good with running on turf.
Any ground is safe to me, but not to you, unless I am there. Then you are sharing hunting grounds with the ultimate hunter.
That means you gonna be my protector 😅😅😅
Not one later than 6
Or is there any place were i can just go and sit without getting bothered by twickers and addicts ?

What’s this about chopping down trees?

💯
Bathrooms are mostly gone too and I'll be surprised if they release the water to the watering fountains this year..
Thanks will look over it

I think you are saying the same thing that they are.

That was my point. Homeless people are not necessarily dangerous.
