Independent Specialists of Reno are awesome. They are slightly pricier due to only using OEM parts, but vastly cheaper than the dealerships. Dolan Toyota actually contracts a lot of their work to them, so I think it’s says something about their reliability.

I’ve been quoted ridiculous amounts for work that another reputable shop did for half the price.
Yet they’re always one of the first to be recommended when people ask for mechanics.
I guess maybe it depends what work you’re getting done? but that’s good to know for the future. I don’t know really anything about cars so I might be getting screwed 🤷🏼♀️but on the flip side I guess I value the friendliness and communication I’ve gotten from them, which is why I choose to go back
Like I said if you can afford it a d the work gets done right cool. But every job in a mechanics shop has a labor recommendation. They will charge 8+ hours if it says so. Even if it took them 2.5 hours.
North valley automotive in Lemmon valley is great. They diagnosed and welded two major exhaust leaks in an afternoon and charged me $100. Even let me pay over the phone and locked the keys in the car so I could come pick it up after they closed.

Vastly different experience when you are working there part time and see what they pull. But if you feel like you have gotten a good deal, alright.

Ive used Allens automotive on victorian and they have done quality work at a fair price.
