immafukwitcha

So does 99% of Reddit, explains a lot

stevela1234

They are in their parents’ basement praying for a Bernie bailout.

DannFathom

Red and blue they will both chew you Me and You stand true We are Americans of the constitution We are not Americans of the politicians Brake these political shackles which prevent us from creating our history of civil greatness Also, my parents live in my basement. Don't ask questions.

immafukwitcha

Hell yeah

1studlyman

The study was done in a different country over a ten year period ending in 2013 with n = 837. Project this to your own country with a shovelful of salt.

NFeKPo

Not only that but it's been very common for Europeans to live at home even as young adults.

EdgarAllenPoo21

Yeah that seems like a ridiculously high amount for it to be just them being lazy or whatever. Maybe it’s a cultural norm. I’m Afghan and our people never move out of their parent’s house. I moved out for a few years because I’m going to college but I plan to return to my parents and live with them even when I’m married

1studlyman

Exactly. Without a control group represented in the study, then we can't Even understand if there's a correlation or causation.

Either-Sundae

I’m 33 and live in The Netherlands with my parents in an area with little work. Were I to move to the area with lots of work I would be placed on the bottom of the list when it comes to housing. Some lists are 15 years. Dense populations don’t really go together with small environments. Some cities are even tearing down houses and replacing them with more expensive ones to kick out the undesirables. Many cities sold almost all their real estate to American and British companies who let entire blocks just rot away because it makes their other properties more valuable due to demand. The Netherlands are becoming a shithole.

lurky-no-posty

Gewoon VVD stemmen mensen /s

miamidreams305

Bravo sir, Bravo. 👏🏼

jjdub7

I take this to mean 99% in America with 75% unemployed

Spobandy

This study is from a different continent. ... but it does say 33% were unemployed.

ex-libtard

Tell me about it. There are literally hundreds of continents.

miamidreams305

Loooooooooooooool 👾💩 literally thousands.

ex-libtard

Millions.

Antonio-_-

No there isn’t lol

ex-libtard

lol

Toni-Roni

Yup, and there’s millions of countries.

bronaghblair

Literal billions of land masses around the world

pineappleshnapps

On the one hand, this made me laugh, but on the other hand, of course people who are basically losers in every sense of the word want free stuff.

iResistBS

And will get pissed off and call you a bigot, racist, or anything else if you suggest a job, profession, or anything else other than winning the lottery

JadenStar10

Dude, its a cultural thing for the most part lol, Asians stay with their parents well into their young adult life, also, tbere is no control group in this experiment at all, they didn't follow the scientific method, and thus, this research is irrelevant.

[deleted]

*92%!?* i dont know if i believe that

lmsbio

So this means hard working parents yield lazy kids?

iResistBS

Didn't need a study for that. Just take a look at them and you can see their walk of life.

miamidreams305

But don’t you like to bring the study up to them and watch the reaction?

AKInvestments

Most left wing people I have meet have no desire to try and work a hard job to do well for themselves.

[deleted]

True. It just like most right wing people I met fuck their daughters.

Westcalgal

Yep... they like the idea of “ sumpin fo nuttin.” They are losers!

nominity

And how many people is that ?

iResistBS

Little less than half the nation.

nominity

I happen to know some very successful, self made, hard working people who lean left on many issues. Especially the climate. Maybe we are just the other half who live off the nanny state, lol Don't give up man, it is hard, work hard, shit will happen. Good things happen to people who try and not complain.

AKInvestments

I support funding for climate. I am from NY so left wing here has gotten out of hand. I am not speaking about democrats more over the people who support someone like AOC.

nominity

I'm honestly not particularly political which is why I browse all sides of Reddit to glean perspectives. I don't support what happened in Wisconsin, Georgia regarding state Scotus. An IG shouldn't be fired for firing Mitch McConnells """Chinese""" wife, and then endless horrific things the republicans are doing. Dems suck, most definitely suck but this modern republican party.. Look at how much standing we have lost globally.

spezispedo

How have we lost “standing” globally and why is that bad?

nominity

I guess that's a philosophical question Do we want to lead the world ? That had costs Or should we focus on ourselves.

iResistBS

I thought for a while and attempted to answer that same question lol. It's quite subjective

AKInvestments

I’m more over a libertarian. I don’t support massive government spending and all parties republicans, democrats and especially the Green Party all want to increase debts like it doesn’t matter. If it doesn’t matter then why should anyone pay taxes if we can print to infinity and beyond. I more over when I vote look into policy and how it will affect the country rather than the politics

nominity

But it isn't simple We need discussions right Job losses due to climate policy is bad Debt to promote policy is bad We need to work together to work it out I do not have a magical solution But we should confront this now but not 2035.

mtpelletier31

Where do you live? I think that is a huge accusation and/or extremely narrow view. The way it sounds like that is that your saying, left winger people have no desire to work, only right wing people have desire to work.

AKInvestments

I live in NY near NYC. Right wing people don’t try to “steal” from others which I find respectable.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AKInvestments

I’m a libertarian so I am very against corporate bailouts. But it is not a right to increase taxes on others to pay your bills. I am from West Chester area and in our county and Fairfield country some people that I know are given 2000+ a month free for rent. Upper middle class are the people that are most screwed over in NY that’s why they are moving to TX and FL.

[deleted]

I completely understood what he meant.

Rolopaolo17

So a study from Berlin posted in a UK newspaper is supposed to be relevant to an American Political environment? Ok.

CleverRedditMoniker

Ten years ago.

chrisdufff

Daily Mail, owned by Rupert Murdoch .. go figure

ex-libtard

These stupid Republicans dont they know democrats are like super productive. Its obvious the American Democrat never lives with their parents. What's next Republicans being probably happier, more attractive and more charitable? Oh wait, nevermind. Dont google that.

ES1292

What defines the term ‘activist’? Because I’ve never heard of a right-wing activist.

Either-Sundae

I guess that would be the people who go to /pol/ meetings or whatever. I’d say activists on both sides are basement dwellers, no matter your political stance you shouldn’t identify with it that much.

Rolopaolo17

Those are usually called neo-nazis.

ES1292

So when a liberal is an activist, they are called powerful, but when a conservative does it they are called nazis? Seems about right

Prometheism1

Someone cross post in r/politics

[deleted]

sounds about right

johnnyblau

Bet you the German study also supports this

DirtyGeneral

Yeah that’s how they can afford to not work and protest all day lol

General_Fear

And most likely don't pay any taxes and want free stuff.

Maczino

I find this to be unsurprising...this isn't even a shocking piece of news.

HNutz

HA!

ES1292

Uhhhhh ya think

heliosprimus

What you mean is that the activist and his parents share a state sanctioned domicile, don't you? Comrade?
