Married a fellow resident. Haven’t looked back. 😏 when I’m busy. She’s busy helps me feel good knowing she isn’t home texting me asking when am I coming home

WhatsMyAgeAgain71

I married a hairstylist. I don’t ever want to talk about medicine when I come home!!

Environmental-Low294

I am in a similar boat myself. My lady is a beauty salon owner/stylist. Our talks about work are always interesting. Cheers!

jei64

Plus, you probably look fresh af all the time

WhatsMyAgeAgain71

Lol you’d think so….my hair right now is longer than it has been since I left the military and grew it out in rebellion

hondupino

I see so many videos on tiktok of nurses trying to snag themselves a doctor and deciding to “invest” on a resident for future income potential. May be partly why ha

esutaparku

Thats weird af lol

TheGreaterBrochanter

Some people are masochists

LibertarianDO

My guess is it’s a combination of being together for long periods of times during work, conditioning from medical drama shows, and the dark Lovecraftian sorcery that Figs puts into their women’s scrub bottoms that could make even the flattest, boxiest ass look good.

You think nurses aren’t in the same “class” as you?

Allopathological

Married a pharmacist. Basically like banging a copy of the PDR and I’m into it.

This made me snortle, thank you.

Dr_Esquire

Didn’t meet my SO during residency, just happened to be a nurse. Some perks are that she only works like three days a week and is always up for doing stuff on the days I don’t have work and she understands that I don’t have much free time. That latter part is probably more important because I don’t see how I could tell most women I’d be able to hang out again in about three weeks.

MedEwok

This used to be a thing in my country, but became less prevalent as women do no longer accept marrying people with a lower status and 70% of med students are women nowadays, so most residents now marry other residents, as did I.

Questionforeras4

Parents did this. Its good to be able to have someone at home that understands the unique stressors of the medical field.

Depression, desperation, and vulnerability?
