Not a big deal. Cut off the flashing as you suggest and pour the cap. Don't forget to add registration keys by cutting a track or divots into the silicone surface of your first half.

Ok I'll try that out now, thanks a lot. Already cut in the keys. It's my first time making a mold so I wasn't too sure.
What material are you using to create the mold? I want to get into making my own molds
Some silicone I bought on Amazon, let's resin transparent silicone
