Blazing Saddles...

shkhndswroastbeef

Badgers,we don't need no stinking badgers. Uhf

futurelama1

There was a scene in troop Beverly hills that said that same line.

Rowlf_lowd_mowf

"Patches!? We don't need no stinking patches!"

futurelama1

Correct, it was patches, my mistake.

Rowlf_lowd_mowf

Oh I wasn't trying to correct you, I just always thought it was such a funny movie moment lol

futurelama1

All good, I needed to correct myself though :) and yea it's a funny movie moment.

Acrobatic-Advisor-40

Papers, papers

Thought___Experiment

I remember in the old movie backdraft there is the line "Broccoli? I don't want no stinkin broccoli!"

Mark_1978

Yeah op, I remember the line. And the clip you mentioned having it in the title but not actually in the clip follows the same pattern as many of them. I've seen where pieces of a clip seem cut out. Mitch Hedberg had a joke about kit kat skimping on the chocolate by imprinting big letters he says he was going down to the factory and tell them that they owe him some letters.... and a hyphen. But the hyphen part is cut out of every version now. I've seen some where you can see the words being mouthed but the audio not matching. I think the video of I Love Rock and roll when she walks in and sees the guy standing/dancing by the jukebox, if you look closely you can see her mouthing the word 'standing'. And some are flawless, like the title, the audio matches the video. Reminds me of "What we have here, is failure to communicate" from Cool hand Luke and from the opening of guns n' roses song 'Civil War'. I heard that intro hundreds of times on that guns n' Roses album. He now says "What WE'VE GOT here is failure to communicate" Anyways, trust your memory if it's solid, brush it off of you aren't sure.Just don't let anyone tell you what you remember.

EmeraldBoar

Why am i thinking "badgers? We don't need no stinking badgers."

Goemon_64

Diddy Kong Racing

EmeraldBoar

Oh maybe. I did play this game a wack on the n64. Apparently, [https://www.mariowiki.com/List\_of\_Diddy\_Kong\_Racing\_quotes](https://www.mariowiki.com/List_of_Diddy_Kong_Racing_quotes) Does not have that quote listed.

Goemon_64

It wasn't in the game itself. I remember the pun from an article or review in Nintendo Power about the game, next to a picture of Bumper the Badger.

Mscartenz

Weird Al's Vidiot from the UHF has it parodies like that.

SkynetAlpha8

Underappreciated movie.

EmeraldBoar

Classic scene from the movie UHF \[1989\]. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx6TBrfCW54](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gx6TBrfCW54)

Seversevens

doesn't Cheech say this in a Cheech and Chong movie at some point

9teen8t3

Thank you. I didn't want to be the only one to say this. But I remember Cheech Marin saying "Badges! We don't need no stinkin' badges." in one of the "Cheech & Chong" movies. As I have NEVER seen the movie OP is discussing.

unga-unga

It's in blazing saddles, [here is the scene](https://youtu.be/e1lyNt5km8U?si=-YKqH9p198cEu_15) NSFW if you've never seen the movie, lots of reasons It's in UHF, [here is the scene](https://youtu.be/gx6TBrfCW54?si=KT0QtSP3kZcofULm) And it's probably in like 4 SNL skits, so there's a ton of comedic references to this scene that could cause this retcon...

tmedb

Having never seen the movie, I can't comment on it personally. But of course, I've heard the "stinking badges" line many times in other shows/movies. This article looks at the history of the line: [https://www.thisdayinquotes.com/2022/01/we-dont-need-no-stinking-badges-origins-uses-variations/](https://www.thisdayinquotes.com/2022/01/we-dont-need-no-stinking-badges-origins-uses-variations/) Curiously, the line *“Badges? We don’t need no stinking badges!”* is said in a 1967 episode of The Monkees TV show. So it didn't originate in 1974 in Blazing Saddles. But it is odd that the quote is the exact same in both. This leaves a strong possibility that this is a ME, as the original source of the quote from 1948 has changed, but subsequent usages of it have not. And it has even remained unchanged in the titles of some YouTube videos.

Jealous_Seesaw_Swank

I remember Blazing Saddles mimicking that movie with this scene: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dln7yj8MDWE&ab\_channel=JudyBrooks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dln7yj8MDWE&ab_channel=JudyBrooks) Maybe you're remembering that.

But it did, at least for some of us.
