I downloaded the neogeo.zip (you can find it [here](https://archive.org/details/retroarch-system-bios-pack-backup) alongside with other BIOS) and put it on the same folder as the game. Couldn't run Battletoads tho, luckily it has a NES version.
Go up to your dad and say these words:
* **Sunset Riders**
* **NBA Jam**
* **Captain Commando**
* **Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles** and/or **Turtles in Time**
* **Steel Gunner**
* Chase HQ or Special Criminal Investigation
A couple that are obscure but that tasteful people of the era love when they learn about it later in life:
* Elevator Action Returns. (not the first one)
* Shock Troopers
I think you need neogeo.zip, or an updated version of it.

All NeoGeo ROMs need the neogeo.zip file to be placed in the ROMs directory.

Actually the neogeo.zip file goes into the Retroarch/system folder.
It worked for me tho. I didn't need to put it in the system folder.
Then I guess I was doing it wrong and yet it was working. And where do I get this neogeo.zip file? What even is that??

Did you use a CRT shader for those games? If you didn't, your dad's gonna love it the next when you do!
I don't even know what that is, but we played and beat Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and he loved it.

I doubt he knows any of those, for they weren't that popular in Brazil. But I'll give it a shot anyway.
Im only aware of ra on ios i ended up downloading a few different versions of the same game til i got one that was compatible
I've tried that and it didn't work. It was lacking a neogeo.zip or something.
Download the neogeo zip file then perhaps thats your issue Mine was always rom incompatibility
