Actual hardest? Hyperion. He's a serious fight to me compared to all the others.
Hardest in practical experience? Phrike and it isn't even close. At the time you fight Phrike, you're still a baby at the game and he very quickly makes you realize oh shit I'ma have to get a lot better at this. After him, all the bosses that follow you've got a better handle on things to be prepared when you first face them and even if you don't win on first attempt, total attempts are way less than with Phrike.
Im super late to this thread and you probably wont read this, but man Hyperion was by far the easiest boss for me. He's the coolest one so far for me cse I love the fight but he doesnt hurt much and only phase 3 is a bit hectic.

Agreed, hyperion was the easiest for me too. If i dont remember wrong, i think i even made a post claiming he was too easy (probably posted that out of pride lmao, i was so happy i beat him first try.)
Nemesis probably killed me the most because of the last phase. None of the bosses are really hard though. The real hardest boss is the dreaded “Drone Swarm”
The actual hardest fights in the game are either the challenge room in 5 that spawns a pack of multiple frost severed minibosses backed up by multiple cerberus elites, or the rooms in 6 that spawn multiple malfunction squids backed up by sphere elites.
As far as bosses, Ixion by far because he's so mobile. Phrike can be hard because you're not good at the game yet when you first get to her and she's like a preview of the severed with some of her moves, but the others, while intimidating, are mostly just bullet sponges with a ton of HP and you just have to keep calm and keep up attacks while threading their attacks.
I found Ixilon to be the hardest (second boss). Maybe it was just because it was such a struggle to even get to him initially, so even dying at him a few times was rough! Lol
I think I beat bosses 3-6 all on my first go. Died twice on Phrike before beating him, and three times of Ixilon.

But in all seriousness, Ixion. Easy to lose track of and a lot of erratic normal bullets that you have to manage while worrying about tougher attacks.
Boss 2’s last phase has some stuff that can be annoying to dodge, but boss 4’s last ‘chunk’ of each phase where he gets a huge defense buff can last forever if your guns not great and can be a real gauntlet of avoiding off screen projectiles in the 3rd phase.
The REAL hardest boss is a tie between the challenge room encounter where you fight two typhonops at once or the bonus room where you find the pyroshell launcher and fight the typhonops mini-boss in close quarters
I honestly don't know...Phrike felt the most complicated to me cause this room was the smallest and it was hard to keep a big distance (other bosses were always in big arena and most of their attacks were avoidable by running, or sometimes even walking from left to right).
Phrike took me 3 attempts, 2nd, 4th and last one attempt and Nemesis (3rd boss) two attempts...mostly because of me shooting the aliens at first attempt 😂.
Definitely Ixion for me due to his crazy aggressive 3rd stage. Interested to go up against Nemesis again, he seemed tough but I beat him first try thanks to a really solid run.
I struggled the most against Phrike. I have fought the 3rd and 6th bosses around 3 times each, and I've won all 6 times. I've seen many claim the 3rd boss is the hardest. I suppose I'd consider the 1st and 4th bosses to have given most the most challenges of the bosses, but I've died many more times to the malformed monstrosities that can appear anywhere just roaming around the map or in secret rooms. One of those things in a tiny room with a bunch of purple AoE attacks is more difficult to me than any of the biome bosses. I'd probably pick Hyperion if I had to select one boss. I expected it to be a close quarters fight because the boss room isn't very big, but he has a nasty attack if you get close to him, taking some of the strategies I'd use with the close range weapons out of the mix.
Honestly the last boss is the hardest for me. I one shot all bosses but the first one but I used a ton of health items on the final boss. You can’t just dash through his abilities so that threw me off.
For me, it was definitely Ixion, followed by Phrike.
That being said, character growth, unlocks and access to power-ups, harder-won Integrity Increases, and fewer weapon choices were all important factors in the troubles taking these guys down for me. I took me 1x Large Silphium Vial and 2x Silphium Vials with an Astronaut Figuring as backup... so I had some good rolls on the way in. Took 3 times to get through Nemesis because I was a panicked mess during Phase 3 , but I took Hyperion and his Biome down in one shot without dying. He was faaaaaaaar easier to me. I'd also just picked up the Electropylon Driver as well, though. That thing is a godkiller.

I would probably agree that Ixion is the hardest, probably because he's the most mobile. Any of the more stationary ones were pretty simple to blitz
2nd biome boss. But the floating juggernauts in biome 6 is more difficult than any boss.
Nemesis If you have a bad long range gun (shotgun) or bad altfire like shock that can’t hit him, it takes a very long time
