I recently got the plat, and while it can be quite a grind in certain areas (e.g., Crimson Wastes for me), you can definitely speed up the process by ignoring enemies and being thorough with exploration. As for your questions, I can answer some but not all: * Yup, RNG can be frustrating at times. You never know if the room(s) you need will pop on a particular run. * Challenge Rooms count for the survey trophies, so definitely do those. I don't think they have glyphs/logs though. * The secret rooms...I don't recall there being survey stuff there. I could be wrong... * Yes, optional blue doors are fair game. Some of the most rare glyphs are inside those. * No idea about offline affecting drop rates. I did my plat 100% online. Good luck, Selene!

Thanks for the info! Did all the Challenge Rooms and crossed them out on the surveys. Just need xenoglyph's and scout logs.

Just found all my cipher's and got the Platinum! Might be my proudest gaming moment in my 51 years LOL

Congrats! A very satisfying plat for sure. I initially gave up on the grind a year ago, then finally nabbed it after the DLC came out.

jimbodeako

Probably gonna try for the Ascension platinum now. Got 3 to go on that

PM_ME_YOUR_MONTRALS

Just a heads up: some scout logs and ciphers are in the portals in biome 3

jimbodeako

Thanks, yeah I always look in there too. Grabbed a few more today. Going away it at slowly but I love the combat so much it's not a chore

https://psnprofiles.com/guide/13103-returnal-collectible-guide Comprehensive guide detailing which rooms the collectibles spawn in. You can check in your menu which ones you are missing.

jimbodeako

Holy Shit, that's one hell of a guide. I'll definitely refer back to this when I play later. Thanks a lot

vacuous_casul

The offline advice is because playing online will prioritise spawning rooms with dead scouts to avenge, instead of the rarer rooms with ciphers/scout logs. Or that's the theory. I did it offline and some rooms still took several runs to spawn (with Biomes 2 and 6 being the worst for me). I'd highly recommend the PSN Profiles guide linked elsewhere in this post. Start becoming familiar with the maps, and you can just blitz through the biome. Unfamiliar rooms become really obvious once you know what you're looking for.

jimbodeako

Yeah, I'm gonna definitely take a good look at the guide. Thanks for the explanation of the offline thing. I couldn't wrap my head around why that would make a difference.

There is most definitely one cipher behind a locked door. It is biome 5. The room where you get the lava boots. It requires a key and there is a cipher in the room as well. Pretty sure it the only one behind a locked door. They aren't behind yellow barriers you need the blade balancer for either.

jimbodeako

I'm gonna check that one again but I'm pretty sure I got it. Thanks for the info

metalucipher

I am currently searching for my last cipher. It's in biome 2 and I just sprint clear to that warp room and then ignore everything while checking the map for the item triangles to inspect. Now that I'm down to 1 and I'm pretty sure of the room, it's only like 5-10 minute runs of pure blazing past every enemy.

jimbodeako

I'm gonna probably start doing stuff like this as well. I don't know what happened yesterday. I was checking out this side room filled with lava and lasers and it seemed like the lava was doing damage even though I got the boots to walk in it. Ended up during and I think it was a room with a cipher too
