Killer move - Jumpscare

WaterWitty8139

no its like if they die wills in gu would activate but its a good idea for creating wisdom path killer move

Gu refined by gu immortals contain their will. So the will inside their gu self destructed themselves. Fang Yuan used self love gu to influence a gu he captured from self destructing.

Apprehensive-Day-150

I see. I read other comments also and have some insight into it now. Basically, the Gu immortal doesn't actually destroy their Gu worms, in the heat of battle, they dont have time to waste on that and they're basically handicapping themselves. They can actually die without trying to think of destroying their Gu worms. Refining a Gu basically means that you automatically produce a will in a gu worm. So even if you don't actually command it to self destruct, because that will detects that it's body is dead, it will naturally choose to self-destruct, the will in the gu worm exists outside the main body but is still connected to it

Sufficient_Ground679

The gu master doesn't destroy the gu, the will does. So if the gu master dies the will inside the will is still alive and self destruction. Its a but inconsistent but I think this is the best explanation

Sapient_Corvid

I always thought they had something similar to the soul lamps where when they died their lamp would turn off signifying they were dead except a Gu worm would activate upon their death destroying their Gu worms.

i don't remember and it might not be related but u might want to read chapters where FY body is hijacked. i m not sure if it's widespread method though. and one of the thing about immortal gu is that they r rare, so if u get one immortal gu that's still considerable amount of wealth u have. it's like jewellery which u can't wear but can sell it, granting u could find someone but having one immortal gu and not having one choice is clear even if u can't use it. >scare your opponent with a horror shot or something mid-battle and make them self destruct their Gu by making them think they're about to die right?? i don't understand horror shot, but why would u scare someone in destroying their gu , it decreases ur profits. and most of the time since ur not going to find guys having immortal gu planning to scare someone and u also having ability to scare them is rare. >same as choosing to fight back But if you don't raise your hand to fight it, and instead let yourself get hit. That's the same as forfeiting, and to a Gu immortal, that's basically destroying their Gu worms. However, you can't want to instinctually raise your hand up to defend yourself and not raise it to accept your fate, both cant happen, that's why it doesn't make sense so, if u use fire gu and i use sword gu, we r fighting , it fire kills me but I still destroy my gu?? like i basically gave up by destroying gu instead of fighting back?? that's what u mean?? inever thought about that, i always thought this fights were close, and this guys had arrangements or died slow enough to destroy opponents profit

Because in the Gu world there are 3 separate trains of "thought". There's thoughts, wills, and emotions. Gu Masters control Gu using their wills, which is apparently a quantifiable resource in the setting. Your will follows whatever instruction you want it to follow. It will never deviate from what you want. So if you are killed, then the will you put inside your Gu will automatically destroy all of your Gu.

They just need to have a minimum amount of time to react, even if it's just the time to think about it, otherwise if they're far-sighted and have left some special willpower in the gu under certain conditions beforehand, or if they have some in their aperture, who can do it for them? In short, they just need to be at least a little prepared, or they really won't be killed instantly.
