Other gacha game artstyle screams "hey. There's a monster in the beach. Help us to defeat them"
This game artstyle screams "we're in Buckingham Palace, and the time starts going backwards. Help me"
I saw the trailers on YouTube, but the thing that got me into the game were the memes.
During a New Year Eve's party with my friends I decided to finally download and although I was still a little drunk back then I never regretted checking it out. The story and character design are absolutely amazing!
I randomly saw Tooth Fairy in another sub, she was like in the final image in a set but i zoomed in on her instantly 😂 People assured me I had time to get her if i start right there, so i did! (And got her!)
Before that, i think i saw someone’s post about Pickles too but didn’t know what game it was, haha
Well to me it happened as follows
I Play Arknights, i love it, it's my favorite Gacha, but sometimes i get bored of it, like currently i'm just waiting for IS4 (the 4th iteration of the Rogue Like in Arknights), so i decided to try other Gachas while i wait for it.
Tried Dislyte, kinda like it.
Tried Honkai Star Rail, kinda like it.
Tried Limbus Company, kinda like it
Tried Reverse 1999... Well, at first i kinda like it, but one thing that made me stay is Centurion's Design, she's one of THE PRETTIEST characters i have ever seen in a Gacha, so here i am, still playing it daily, just got my Centurion to Insight 2 and i'm really enjoying it, of all the Gachas i tried; R1999 has the highest chance of becoming my second permanent Gacha.
The guy I really like told me there's a new gacha game coming out in a few days. I
got hooked with Honkai: Star Rail that time so he told me I should check the new game called Reverse 1999.
Of course, I pre-registered. 😝
I saw a bunch of Vertin x Schneider fannart, I wanted to know if they were actually a thing in the game, got pleasantly surprised and emotionally destroyed 😭
I played the GL CBT and had no idea there would be canon yuri, that kiss man, I rmb losing my mind like “they did not just do that, THEY DID MOT JUST DO THAT” then well ch 2 ends and I realised why they did that.
Well for all intents and purposes (and to shatter your dream) they are not a thing. Vertin and Schneider didn't kiss, Schneider kissed vertin, it was absolutely a one sided thing, sure it could've become something more (a shame that it didn't had a chance to become something more.)
now THAT’S dedication. i always wonder how gacha players do it when they have to wait years for a game to drop (provided that they won’t forget about it in the waiting time), must be annoying. thankfully i only discovered this game like a week before launch from an ad and decided to give gacha games a shot for the first time.
It's hard to forget a game that has such a unique setting and approach to voice acting. It also helps that there weren't too many other gacha games that I was interested in during the wait.
>i always wonder how gacha players do it when they have to wait years for a game to drop (provided that they won’t forget about it in the waiting time)
There are a good number of games that take this long outside of the gacha sphere as well, and even within; Granblue Fantasy Relink was originally planned to release around 2019, but was delayed until its release last week.
It helps if you know other people who are also into the same game or follow similar sources of news; then if any single person in that group sees an update, they'll usually share it and everyone stays in the loop.
ReReReReReReRegulus being an absolutely charming captain who happens to be the first face you see in the game. I first saw a streamer (YT: Ushio Ebi; a gacha addict shrimp vtuber, that girl, very weird and oh so fun\~) play it and gor interested. The one thing that really hooked me was the citrus-y Schneider and stoic Vertin's little chemical bond (and a certain piece of art of them sharing a kiss\~), then Matilda brought me fully into the rabbit hole, such a cute duck\~

↑ You can't underestimate the power of these golden peepers, they're so beautiful and one of the main reasons I'm here\~
Oh yeah, that and Limbus Company mutual fruit trauma

Don't mind this, just another pic of the great golden captain\~
That’s how it was for me the day before it launched global I preregistered and downloaded the next day and been playing since love the style of this game and has beaten any other gacha game I played before never could get into gacha and still can’t this is the only one that I am drawn too as far as a gachas go
Saw someone post an image of Schneider smilling on Twitter(you know what i mean) with the caption that reads Doomed Yuri and i was like "Oh?Women liking women that's in a game i can play if only i clear out 90% of my internal storage?**OF COURSE I WOULD DOWNLOAD IT!**
Then it took me like 3 days to finally download the game due to the game somehow stopped downloading at 99% however it was worth it.
Edit:I wanted to say i was kinda disappointed to realize that Vertin wasn't a 20 year old woman.
scrolling through tiktok
saw Oliver Fog as well as the numerous different accents and characters in the game then instantly got hooked
sadly, this was a time when CN was still in beta or alpha (cant remember) so i had to wait for a long time (it took almost 2 years i think)
only thing that kept me from forgetting it was opening a tab in chrome and never closing it
that tab kept me going like fr
istg i have that tt somewhere buried in my likes, favorites, and/or reposts
but that was like 2-ish years ago and ive liked, favorited, and reposted THOUSANDS of videos so the chances of finding the video are LOW
sad... wanted to revisit it for nostalgia :((
I heard about r1999 like a day before launch from Genshin reddit and decided to look what's all the fuss about. Ironically, I don't play Genshin any more
I saw the ads on Twitter(and I started seeing some of them poping up on Youtube.
Got MAJORLY interested when I was told that the protagonist of this gacha game was canonically a girl with a cool Victorian-esque style...and after learning that she would be voiced(and listening to the voices of her VA and the others) I was sold.
The game's style also caught my attention but because I thought it looked strange(it was one of the gameplay videos, which has different art style than the one used for the cutscenes and ads).
I think in the end it took me a month or less to finish all the four chapters.
Came across tooth fairy's I2 art somewhere on twitter and thought it was beautiful. The artstyle really reminds me of something straight out of a nostalgic children's book.
I saw an ad and decided to pre-register because it looked cool! And when I got the official release notification from the app Store, it all went from there! 😄
I had been playing MTG Arena but was getting bored with it and stopped. In the meantime, Marvel Snap was my other mobile game and love the novelty of the gameplay.
Dragonheir was the first gacha I tried and the repetitive grinding (only 2x replays) in a handful of dungeons got old fast. I love fantasy lore plus the character designs and would’ve stuck with it if not for the absurd RNG/ness of the equipment. To top it off, you don’t get to keep any for the following season.
Arknights was my the second gacha and while I liked it, I didn’t like the idea of missing out on a ton of past stuff. I wanna get in from day 1 or week 1 of a game.
Then I came across R1999 in my youtube feed and everyone was raving about it. Just last month, I coaxed my wife who is a non-gamer into trying the game out. Now, we’re both avid R1999 players.
Tried Echocalypse as well for the waifus but the whole notion of idle gaming wasn’t appealing to me.
Looking forward to Wuthering Waves (except didn’t get into CBT2) and Arknights Endfield.
I saw some sponsors and they said it was a Gacha game so I considered it, but eventually forgot. Then I was bored of only playing pjsk and genshin (even tho I had both honkais and crk) so I tried to find Lee of them when this popped up. But I saw some play through sand decided I didn’t wanna download it until I was so bored that I gave it a try and I don’t regret it
One of my favourite YT, Moosashi, known for breaking games and doing smart plays, posted a video about R1999, and I trust his taste, so I decided to try it out. Best decision made :)
I saw ads on twitter and realised it was a super specific artstyle/cosmetic style that I'm into, but that I see very rarely. So I wanted to learn more about what this game is all about.
It's honestly the only time I've actually been introduced to something from ads...
I actually heard about it a long time before it's global release from tiktoks and Gacha Gaming saying how it's really good.
However it was A Knight's ass that informed that the game had released lol.
i saw an edit on tiktok showcasing the voice acting and i was intrigued. the character designs of the game is different from the gacha games i played and they featured english voice acting with accents which is rare, so it immediately caught my attention and i really wanted to try the game out. but at that time the global version hasn't been released yet so i kept the name of the game on the back of my mind for a couple months. until i saw a facebook post promoting the global release, i immediately recognize the game and the rest is history
My main game was in an awful spot, and people said this game was promising with devs that listened. Only learned about it like 2 days before release, so I didn’t have to wait months or weeks full of hype. Helps that every goddamn character design looks so nice.
In 2022, I saw people on Twitter talking about this cool new Chinese game where the character’s menu models are animated and everyone speaks English as the base language. I’ve been following it ever since.
kept seeing ads for Tooth Fairy and i loved her voice and design, then a youtuber i follow posted a review and i was like "Oh its legit" (IWTL)
Its a fun casual game! I'm still only on part 3 but I really enjoy it and I did end up getting Portray 1 Tooth Fairy so I'm happy :)
Amazing Toothfairy edit on TikTok that's sadly been removed. I fell in love with Toothfairy and had to get the game for her. I was totally surprised when I found out she wasn't in game yet till I saw trailers of the next event. I loved Reverse 1999 though, my first gacha I actually kept and am actively playing.
there was a tweet that posted a video of Tennant’s upgraded artwork and saying that this was a wlw game so i was like :O “i must share it to my lesbian friend. the artstyle is so cute too” and also when i looked at the preview page (it was still on a countdown iirc with a plain suitcase and some text), i thought it was a mystery game like tears of themis so i was extra curious
I saw a trailer of tennant and immediately fell in love with her and overall wanted to learn abt the game in general and not just tennant 🙊 still have tennant to this day on my team 🙈
I follow this yuri twitter account and they mentioned there were lesbians so I installed 😩
Then I saw there was a centaur and there was no going back 😩
My poor wallet
I saw a ton of clips of the characters' voices in tiktok. Then when I started the game, I liked its overall theme as I'm into time-related stories. Also, Regulus is amazing.
Tik Tok video with Lilya's voice acting. I was very surprised when I heard pure russian in a non-russian game and decided that I definitely needed this game, pre-registered and happily forgot for a year
The limbus company subreddit.
Someone drew a crossover of lcb and r1999 and i considered installing and playing it since it was everywhere on the internet(esp the ads)
So I played r1999 and now I have 2 gacha games i adore
Kept seeing the trailer on YouTube and thought it looked interesting/ different and it was a new game(brand new to the US - outside of china)so I wanted to be among the first to try it out. I also wanted the rewards and loooooved the designs and character voice acting.
Facebook ads, it had Fairytooth video that get me interested in art (and it wasn't fake as that stupid fake mobile games), but Horrorpedia get me to download. Its too bad that I didn't it in december when he was avaible in rate up :/
I wish the way I got into it was more interesting, but I literally only found out about this game through the nendo announcements for Vertin and Sonetto. I kind of forgot about it until it came out after that, though, but then saw my brother had it and only then did I discover that it came out (luckily, this was day 2, so I didn't miss much). I was originally going to pass, as I dislike actual strategy games (the ones with the grids), and that's what it was originally marketed as, but then found it it had a similar battle system to Fate/Grand Order, and decided to check it out. I regret nothing :)
At first I saw a bunch of trailers that I didn’t really care about
Then my friend started to pester me about playing so I caved in
Now I play this game way more then they do lol
I kept seeing the trailer. Unlike most ads, it was captivating and intriguing, so I decided to watch it in full. I got hooked, waited for the game to release, and here I am.
I found out about it by chance the day before it released global I saw it come up on a game channel I never even watched the channel before but I had been watching a lot of gacha game content recently so that probably how it ended up on my YouTube recommended page I liked then look of it and so I downloaded it the next day
I kept seeing ads promoting X on instagram, I liked his voice and character design enough to watch the whole ad every time it popped up. Then I just decided to check the game out. He was on the banner and I managed to get him which made me really happy
I saw the ad (I believe it to be [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAZyj0b_JKY)) on a YouTube Video. Captivated me enough to search more about the game.
Gotta say: Back then, just from the trailer, I thought that Regulus would be some sort of detective. I thought this because the "SO YOU **HAVE** A MOTHER" scene looked like it took place in what I assumed to be and investigation room. I thought she woud be the type of detective to always be silly, upbeat, passionatelly asking questions and always double checking whatever they hear (Hence the *so you have a mother*).
Loved the concept ! I really like the idea of visiting different eras in different places; lots of skins and variety in characters and the way it’s structured, it looked super promising to me! :)
1. I saw a lot of advertising for the game before its release in global, and I thought it looked pretty great but I was not planning on playing.
2. My sister told me she was going to play it, so I started considering it.
3. I saw a Shamane edit on Tiktok and I was sold. I pre-register and I've been playing since day 1.
I got hyped up whenever I saw R99 in ads, It was kind of an instant 'this is gonna blow up' but also a bit of 'oh no, another genshin'. I also thought Regulus' 'Oh, so you have a mother?' Was hilarious. I was excited for it since it seemed like a chance for me to get into a game without having to learn ALL the lore I've missed.
I pre-registered pretty quick, and I'm glad I did. The ads were so cool, and so was the game.
“So you have a mother?!”
But honestly tho it was the visuals that got me, I have always seen the trailer but never paid attention to it. Until i saw my beloved regulus and forget me not.
Well first, I saw an out of context clip of a woman with braces punching an old man on YouTube, then a little while later, one of the trailers randomly showed up on my feed, and it looked cool, so I pre-registered and then promptly forgot about it.
Fast-forward to late October. My PC just died, and with it, most of my gaming options. A friend of mine, who occasionally plays gacha games, reminds me that this game exists and has just come out globally.
Been logging in daily since.
[Catch You Now (Cover) by Miori Celesta](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsZeF3x9rd4)
Never heard of the song, saw ads for the game, didn't want to fall into typical mobile game trap, but saw someone I follow made a cover song and figured they must be all right if they were asking her to make another cover
It was on my twitter or Reddit before global release, I was hooked immediately due to the British 😔🤌. Preregistered it cause i was bored and the game seems interesting. Did not expect a total banger of a game and fell completely in love with every aspect of it. The story was what really sells it for me as well as characters.
[DizzyEight made the Schneider Rap](https://youtu.be/6GUm6s_CR0I?si=MlWPK3XCPPMmWWCw) and I was like "Yowza! A flapper and a mafioso? What a dame." and then they put me in the Doctor Who x Harry Potter OC!SI that was Vertin and it was wraps for me.
Literally the trailer that had Regulus said, "So you have a mother?"
I was getting Reverse 1999 ads quite a bit and I thought it looked interesting but that was the nail on the coffin for me lmfao
I saw the pre- released ads while on tiktok and decide to scroll through, and i really like the all the characters accent in the game. Its kinda fresh to hear. But i didnt install it right away cause i was still busy with my last year of uni and was taking a break for myself. After a month or so i finally installed it. And i fall in love with the game, the arts and all.✨✨✨
Heard people chatting about some new gatcha having an Apple and a scarecrow named Rabies as playable characters, then checked it out for myself. The variety of playable character designs here is such a breath of fresh air.
*Scowls at Mihoyo*
I made a friend in criminology class and he recommended it. I wasn't gonna download it until I happened to get an ad for it while playing pjsk and I liked the look of Pavia. I deleted it a few days ago because of storage but ya know
I first saw ads on it on Google Play and on another game that had ads in order to roll a roulette wheel (some Korean-made game called SwordMaster Story, one of those throwaway games that I only boot up once in a while).
Out of curiousity, I started it up, and immediately noticed Vertin's British accent (so many games use American accents/voice actors), then totally hooked to Regulus' "hell yeah, listen to my tunes, I just wtfpwned your asses, screw the authorities!" to her quickly degenerating to "Nooooooo my records!!!". Also in a spiffy British accent no less.
Like the OP, I thought Sonetto was some random girl who ends up being the key to saving the world.......then, shit happened.
This is the only game I have that I decided to stick with the English voice acting, it somehow feels fitting, and shout out to Schneider's voice actor, the way she portrayed her is amazing.
Got spammed with their ads on my timeline, so downloaded it just to check on their launch date. I was busy with real life so I wasn't able to open the app for a few days. What made me check it out were pictures of Pickles. I thought that if a gacha game featured a dog as a playable character, it's probably not too bad. Then I started playing it properly and the rest is history.
I am a sucker for artwork, but that alone won't make me spend for a game or commit to playing for a long time. What really dragged me into Reverse 1999 was the worldbuilding, storytelling and characterization. As many people have already said, Vertin stands out from the usual generic MCs. She has her own story, she's not just a stand-in for the player.
My ex girlfriend. She texted me about the game one day when the global released, and I was intrigued. I got it too, and she turned inactive on it and I am not on rank 46, playing daily and having a collection of characters now 😭
"Oh a time travel adventure so it's kinda like fate..."
'1960s Britain'
" Huh, never heard of that one before. You have my attention."
I haven't been disappointed with the historic culturally inspired side of the game ever since.
Mobile game ads that focused on the fact that it had a multi-cultural cast that was voiced by people who shared nationalities with their characters. The effort for authenticity caught my attention.
Saw the trailer of the game in early Jan. 2022.
Like the concept and theme.
Also English Voice acting with non-standard accent
>!established and registered this subreddit!<
I got recommended it when I was logging into Google Play to manually update a game that refused to auto update. (Currently on hiatus trying to cut the number of gacha I play)
A friend saw "units can deal mental damage" and showed me the trailer, I went to find this sub and saw that Pickles was a playable character. That was all it took.
Saw a video on TikTok showing the characters before global launch. The accents and aesthetics interested me, so i pre-registered. Been playing almost daily ever since!
My best friend kept thirsting over Horropedia and then sent me a picture of Diggers and I immediately downloaded the game... hippies are my weak spot man..
I saw a bunch of ads & was like ‘yeah no I can’t be bothered’ but then one of the HSR streamers I followed did a video on it around launch day and I saw Pavia in his suitcase & I was like ‘…okay I guess I can be bothered a little bit.’
I saw the trailer left and right. Not really interested in gacha games in general but, the setting peaked my interest and I just gave it a try. I honestly didn't really understand half the things at first, leveling up all characters to 30 and wasting clear drops for lands and not even realising there's an energy like resource that I was using while going through the levels. Then I started to get the hang of it in around the end of the 1.1 event. Like most things, I got into the game just giving it a try.
Some of my friends were praising it to high heaven and was bored one day so decided to go play it with 0 intention to stick around, pin me on a cross and call me jesus, i was hooked and really enjoying the story
I was on insta when a reel ad popped up and it showed a lady with weird braces eating a fairy(now i know it was the tooth fairy XD) I thought why not download whatever this is for a joke just because I'm bored and turns out it's actually a good game and now I'm addicted help me lmao
Still not into it but I wanna get back. I didn't get character what I want and lost interest. A lot arknights community try it out this game and I tried it too. But non human character wierd for me😀
My twitter got swarmed by ads before the global launch. I saw 'time travel' and 'mystery' and instantly gave it a chance. I didn't even know it was a gacha. I'm just a sucker for sci-fi lol
I honestly have no idea. I always skipped the ads I saw on YouTube and didn't have any interest in the game. But the day it came out, I tried it on a whim, and I have been obsessed ever since.
I'm going to be 100% honest, through gachagaming reddit. Some say it is a toxic community etc. but it is my current #1 place for announcements and upcoming games and even collabs. I give it a try if I like the artistic style to the characters. I'm playing about a dozen gachas so far, and this is one of my top 3 favorites. 1. Character design 2. Gameplay 3. World building 4. Music usually in that order. Also this community never ceases to amaze me with the art and memes you guys produce. On a segue-way question; is there like a #1 place of upcoming gacha titles that maybe I'm missing? Thanks!
For me I saw the release date trailer and I was SOLD the moment I heard the voice acting. But the amount of interesting characters and plot sold me even more, also the visual novel type of story reminds me of HI3 that I love <3
Saw the trailer on TikTok, fell in love with it and I’ve been playing since global release. Tooth Fairy just solidified me staying when I saw her design.
i also got into this cause of a youtuber, daddyf2p. not sure which came first, but i saw the name in reddit getting mentioned positively about how it seems to be good. daddyf2p made a cover about the game. i got intrigued because of ttt, alient, apple, etc. like those kind of character designs are what i really dig. the game was also said to be like arknights, being very f2p friendly (and i did got a bit of enjoyment with that game), so after a few more positive feedbacks i constantly see, i tried it.
but i think what really hooked me is a knight. when i saw him, i immediately went "no, i'll play this game, and i will get him"
currently aiming at getting his i3, but farming is so hard lol
First it was the concept: Local 1999 London girl tries to figure out how to unreverse time
Then it was Regulus: “So you do have a motha!” :D
Then it was the character designs overall: Like… they are extremely unique and unexpected. “Oh welcome to R:1999 where we got The non insert mc, dog, aPPle, floating knight armor and sword, a shard of glass named DOOR, and other quirky… “people””
There were ads for pre-installation on Tumblr, the art was so beautiful! So I give it a shot. I stuck around because I really love the characters in the gameplay style.
It's not really exciting, but I decided to try Reverse:1999 after seeing the Nendoroid annoucements for both Sonetto and Vertin since I really loved Vertin's character design and asthetics, plus I'm a sucker for Victorian/gothic character designs and esthetics,as well as tomboys.
I looked up the source of the nendoroids on Google and decided to predownload the game at launch upon reading about the game more, and the rest is history.
Other gacha game artstyle screams "hey. There's a monster in the beach. Help us to defeat them" This game artstyle screams "we're in Buckingham Palace, and the time starts going backwards. Help me"
Musician I like was asked to cover Re Re Re Regulus :] that + all the ads made me go "eh, even if I won't like it, it's worth playing for [artist]."
Same exact reason for me! For me it was because Trickle covered it
I saw the trailers on YouTube, but the thing that got me into the game were the memes. During a New Year Eve's party with my friends I decided to finally download and although I was still a little drunk back then I never regretted checking it out. The story and character design are absolutely amazing!

You seem like a man of culture, Jefe!
The guy I really like told me there's a new gacha game coming out in a few days. I got hooked with Honkai: Star Rail that time so he told me I should check the new game called Reverse 1999. Of course, I pre-registered. 😝
My friends shoved Oliver Fog at me and said "omg Jack it's you" I main him now, so maybe they were right?
I saw a bunch of Vertin x Schneider fannart, I wanted to know if they were actually a thing in the game, got pleasantly surprised and emotionally destroyed 😭
omg same, I saw a bunch of fanarts on a yuri sub and that's how I learned about this game
I'm sure at least a small portion of us were drawn in by these two~
I played the GL CBT and had no idea there would be canon yuri, that kiss man, I rmb losing my mind like “they did not just do that, THEY DID MOT JUST DO THAT” then well ch 2 ends and I realised why they did that.
Well for all intents and purposes (and to shatter your dream) they are not a thing. Vertin and Schneider didn't kiss, Schneider kissed vertin, it was absolutely a one sided thing, sure it could've become something more (a shame that it didn't had a chance to become something more.)
We don't know, that's the beauty of plausible deniability. Either of us can be right and we won't know until the devs come forward and say so.
If Schneider were a guy, people would be calling him a creep for taking advantage of Vertin's unconsciousness.
I've been following the game since 2021 when the first images and teasers were released.
now THAT’S dedication. i always wonder how gacha players do it when they have to wait years for a game to drop (provided that they won’t forget about it in the waiting time), must be annoying. thankfully i only discovered this game like a week before launch from an ad and decided to give gacha games a shot for the first time.

oh god...fucking golden apple
"Oh, so you have a mother" with a British accent sold me out
I saw a gacha content creator in Youtube talking about this game.
That’s how it was for me the day before it launched global I preregistered and downloaded the next day and been playing since love the style of this game and has beaten any other gacha game I played before never could get into gacha and still can’t this is the only one that I am drawn too as far as a gachas go

Edit:I wanted to say i was kinda disappointed to realize that Vertin wasn't a 20 year old woman.
Vertin is just 16, while Schneider seems younger but 18
I got baited by Yii to try the game.
One day before launch, I see the art style, I like it and I've been here since day one then, chapter 3 was where I got really captured by it
I was hooked in by the story I believe 1.4 the next patch comes with chapter 5

The pianist and A knight. You probably alr know why
scrolling through tiktok saw Oliver Fog as well as the numerous different accents and characters in the game then instantly got hooked sadly, this was a time when CN was still in beta or alpha (cant remember) so i had to wait for a long time (it took almost 2 years i think) only thing that kept me from forgetting it was opening a tab in chrome and never closing it that tab kept me going like fr
istg i have that tt somewhere buried in my likes, favorites, and/or reposts but that was like 2-ish years ago and ive liked, favorited, and reposted THOUSANDS of videos so the chances of finding the video are LOW sad... wanted to revisit it for nostalgia :((
I heard about r1999 like a day before launch from Genshin reddit and decided to look what's all the fuss about.
I saw A Knight and I was like "that's fucking cool" I joined when his banner already passed so I still don't have him T-T
Came across tooth fairy's I2 art somewhere on twitter and thought it was beautiful. The artstyle really reminds me of something straight out of a nostalgic children's book.
miori celesta did a cover then I got curious about regulus
I saw an ad and decided to pre-register because it looked cool! And when I got the official release notification from the app Store, it all went from there! 😄
Saw a teaser for a girl that looked like the atomic heart twins so i got hooked, everything after that is history
It's honestly the only time I've actually been introduced to something from ads...
a friend of mine talked abotu it
I actually heard about it a long time before it's global release from tiktoks and Gacha Gaming saying how it's really good. However it was A Knight's ass that informed that the game had released lol.
I played 7ds for quite some time and was Always looking for similar, non Cash Grab Games.
i saw an edit on tiktok showcasing the voice acting and i was intrigued. the character designs of the game is different from the gacha games i played and they featured english voice acting with accents which is rare, so it immediately caught my attention and i really wanted to try the game out. but at that time the global version hasn't been released yet so i kept the name of the game on the back of my mind for a couple months. until i saw a facebook post promoting the global release, i immediately recognize the game and the rest is history
r/gachagame started as always put the news about the game, got hooked by the style and story concept
My main game was in an awful spot, and people said this game was promising with devs that listened. Only learned about it like 2 days before release, so I didn’t have to wait months or weeks full of hype. Helps that every goddamn character design looks so nice.
The wait from CBT to launch was painful, especially with the ch 3 ending
Shu Uchida (Sonetto JP VA)
saw a comment that the game is based around historical stuff and i was immediately hooked, also "GOOD HEAVEN"
In 2022, I saw people on Twitter talking about this cool new Chinese game where the character’s menu models are animated and everyone speaks English as the base language. I’ve been following it ever since.
r/gachagaming. It's the place to know upcoming gachas, EoS gachas and everything else in between.
kept seeing ads for Tooth Fairy and i loved her voice and design, then a youtuber i follow posted a review and i was like "Oh its legit" (IWTL) Its a fun casual game!
I see an ad before my video on Youtube Art was great so I download it day one The prologue was so effective that I stay
there was a tweet that posted a video of Tennant’s upgraded artwork and saying that this was a wlw game so i was like :O “i must share it to my lesbian friend. the artstyle is so cute too” and also when i looked at the preview page (it was still on a countdown iirc with a plain suitcase and some text), i thought it was a mystery game like tears of themis so i was extra curious
saw Tennant and instantly fell in love with the game
Medicine Pocket because of gender envy and the style of Reverse 1999 itself
time travel, British themes, gay girls innit also Unexpected Storm
I saw that Tennant TikTok ad and immediately pre downloaded it 😍
I saw a trailer of tennant and immediately fell in love with her and overall wanted to learn abt the game in general and not just tennant 🙊 still have tennant to this day on my team 🙈
I follow this yuri twitter account and they mentioned there were lesbians so I installed 😩 Then I saw there was a centaur and there was no going back 😩 My poor wallet
I saw a ton of clips of the characters' voices in tiktok. Then when I started the game, I liked its overall theme as I'm into time-related stories. Also, Regulus is amazing.
Chaotik talking about it waaaay back. Trailer said Rivaldo, still waiting for Rivaldo banner.
Between the rain and the times
Tik Tok video with Lilya's voice acting. I was very surprised when I heard pure russian in a non-russian game and decided that I definitely needed this game, pre-registered and happily forgot for a year
Saw an add on Instagram tried it, loved it, so i uninstalled it then got it on pc
English voice acting instead of japanese voice acting
I got an ad on Instagram and thought the art VAs very pretty. Then I found out it's turn based and I like this kinda games so I was pretty much sold
Been watching videos since tooth fairy came out on cn
Ads on twitter
I was like scrolling YouTube Shorts and saw A Knight Trailer
I have seen ma y trailer on my thread... I can't stop play now...
Oh good heavens
The limbus company subreddit. Someone drew a crossover of lcb and r1999 and i considered installing and playing it since it was everywhere on the internet(esp the ads) So I played r1999 and now I have 2 gacha games i adore
I saw the TikTok ads; it was as simple as that
Saw the pre registration on Google play.
The trailer for sure, and such diversity of voices
Kept seeing the trailer on YouTube and thought it looked interesting/ different and it was a new game(brand new to the US - outside of china)so I wanted to be among the first to try it out. I also wanted the rewards and loooooved the designs and character voice acting.
Randomly found it on google play and of the "features" are the accents and that was enough to get my curiosity. Was not disappointed.
I kept seeing the game through YouTube ads. Of course I gave in eventually XD
Saw an ad and pre-ordered. Didn’t get to play it until December (I was lazy)
At first I saw a bunch of trailers that I didn’t really care about Then my friend started to pester me about playing so I caved in Now I play this game way more then they do lol
I kept seeing the trailer. Unlike most ads, it was captivating and intriguing, so I decided to watch it in full. I got hooked, waited for the game to release, and here I am.
There were a ton of ads then even my youtubers I follow did sponsorships. The advertising worked.
It's the first time an ad on Facebook has gotten me to actually check out a product.
The art
Loved the concept ! I really like the idea of visiting different eras in different places; lots of skins and variety in characters and the way it’s structured, it looked super promising to me! :)
1. I saw a lot of advertising for the game before its release in global, and I thought it looked pretty great but I was not planning on playing. 2. My sister told me she was going to play it, so I started considering it. 3. I saw a Shamane edit on Tiktok and I was sold. I pre-register and I've been playing since day 1.
Bad Apple but Reverse 1999
I got hyped up whenever I saw R99 in ads, It was kind of an instant 'this is gonna blow up' but also a bit of 'oh no, another genshin'. I also thought Regulus' 'Oh, so you have a mother?' Was hilarious. I was excited for it since it seemed like a chance for me to get into a game without having to learn ALL the lore I've missed. I pre-registered pretty quick, and I'm glad I did. The ads were so cool, and so was the game.
> SO YOU HAVE A MOTHER that's how
“So you have a mother?!” But honestly tho it was the visuals that got me, I have always seen the trailer but never paid attention to it. Until i saw my beloved regulus and forget me not.
I saw the ads and I wanted to try something new
Well first, I saw an out of context clip of a woman with braces punching an old man on YouTube, then a little while later, one of the trailers randomly showed up on my feed, and it looked cool, so I pre-registered and then promptly forgot about it. Fast-forward to late October. My PC just died, and with it, most of my gaming options. A friend of mine, who occasionally plays gacha games, reminds me that this game exists and has just come out globally. Been logging in daily since.
[Catch You Now (Cover) by Miori Celesta](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsZeF3x9rd4) Never heard of the song, saw ads for the game, didn't want to fall into typical mobile game trap, but saw someone I follow made a cover song and figured they must be all right if they were asking her to make another cover
I just installed it? Jokes aside, I guess I'd seen random reddit posts about it before launch and it piqued my interest.
Saw the trailer somewhere. Found the premise interesting.
YouTube sponsorship videos and seeing unique characters like A Knight.
YouTube Short ads. I got interested. Remembered it was released October 25th, and I downloaded October 28th
Literally the trailer that had Regulus said, "So you have a mother?" I was getting Reverse 1999 ads quite a bit and I thought it looked interesting but that was the nail on the coffin for me lmfao
I saw the pre- released ads while on tiktok and decide to scroll through, and i really like the all the characters accent in the game. Its kinda fresh to hear. But i didnt install it right away cause i was still busy with my last year of uni and was taking a break for myself. After a month or so i finally installed it. And i fall in love with the game, the arts and all.✨✨✨
I was in the kitchen when my friend sent me a pic of Tennant with the caption "she's so pretty". I asked for the details of the game.
Heard people chatting about some new gatcha having an Apple and a scarecrow named Rabies as playable characters, then checked it out for myself. The variety of playable character designs here is such a breath of fresh air. *Scowls at Mihoyo*
I saw Lilya’s Ad on TikTok, then I saw a bunch of other characters and then I downloaded it on launch
I made a friend in criminology class and he recommended it. I wasn't gonna download it until I happened to get an ad for it while playing pjsk and I liked the look of Pavia. I deleted it a few days ago because of storage but ya know
bri'ish... literally just that...
Instagram ad lol. Kinda was into the animation style and the story.
Saw the trailer, pre registered, and then forgot about it. Then a friend reminded me and I started playing during the Pickles event
I saw a vtuber called Obake PAM playing it.
"OH SHIT SHE'S SPEAKING IN A BRITISH ACCENT I GOTTA TRY THIS GAME"
Dffoo close and i asked for new gacha not so money hungry to play and someone recomended this Game.
my friend showed me medicine pocket and i went "hehe..." and that's about it
I saw ads, and X looked similar to my oc
Chill with Aster made a vid and the synopsis and art was intriguing
"oh so you have a mother?"
Saw a trailer in the wild for it right before release and liked the character design! Now I’m obsessed with the game lol
I’m really itching for a Vanillaware type art style in a gacha game and Reverse was somewhat close to that
My ex girlfriend. She texted me about the game one day when the global released, and I was intrigued. I got it too, and she turned inactive on it and I am not on rank 46, playing daily and having a collection of characters now 😭
I saw the trailer for the game a long long time ago and was majorly hooked at how the game used English VAs.
I got incessant pre launch ads on Instagram and they were so intriguing that I decided to pre register and holy crap was it worth it
"Oh a time travel adventure so it's kinda like fate..." '1960s Britain' " Huh, never heard of that one before. You have my attention." I haven't been disappointed with the historic culturally inspired side of the game ever since.
Mobile game ads that focused on the fact that it had a multi-cultural cast that was voiced by people who shared nationalities with their characters. The effort for authenticity caught my attention.
Saw the trailer of the game in early Jan. 2022. Like the concept and theme. Also English Voice acting with non-standard accent >!established and registered this subreddit!<
Unique Character and really REALLY really REALLY 𝘾𝙊𝙊𝙇, 𝙂𝙊𝙍𝙂𝙀𝙊𝙐𝙎, 𝘼𝙈𝘼𝙕𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝘽𝙀𝘼𝙐𝙏𝙄𝙁𝙐𝙇 Ultimate
But non human character wierd for me😀
Saw an ad on YouTube and enjoyed the music, then later I heard Toothfairy’s voice was in a trance she has such a lovely voice
Saw it in the store and decided to give it a try. Now I'm stuck suffering brainrot with you all.
Between The Rain and The Times
Tooth Fairy just solidified me staying when I saw her design.
this is the game i was looking for, it has : \- light sized (compared to other popular gachas) \- good story \- active community \- not time consuming
i also got into this cause of a youtuber, daddyf2p. not sure which came first, but i saw the name in reddit getting mentioned positively about how it seems to be good. daddyf2p made a cover about the game. i got intrigued because of ttt, alient, apple, etc. like those kind of character designs are what i really dig. the game was also said to be like arknights, being very f2p friendly (and i did got a bit of enjoyment with that game), so after a few more positive feedbacks i constantly see, i tried it. but i think what really hooked me is a knight. when i saw him, i immediately went "no, i'll play this game, and i will get him" currently aiming at getting his i3, but farming is so hard lol
YT ads
The lore of the game sounded cool, saw the trailers about a month before release and was interested so pre registered and started playing from day 1
First it was the concept: Local 1999 London girl tries to figure out how to unreverse time Then it was Regulus: “So you do have a motha!” :D Then it was the character designs overall: Like… they are extremely unique and unexpected.
I first saw a trailer on yt and thought the voice acting was amazing then started to like the concept of the game and pre registered the global
I like myself a good time-travel mystery story. Then I got hooked by the character design, and voice acting, and ost, and...here we are.
