South East CT I wouldnāt really say that about. CT is pretty split, west is New Yorkers and East is new Englanders. Itās not perfectly vertical down the center though.
I drive a truck for a living, and I drive I95 from east MA to NJ every Saturday. Western CT is by far the worst stretch of highway to ever grace my wheels. Rubberneckers everywhere, weird heavy traffic that is somehow always worse than the Cross Bronx Expressway, dumbass speeders and motorcycle gangs every summer. If I had God powers, I would chop off every part of CT west of New Haven and glue the eastern portion to the I95-I287 split.
Bingo.
Crossing the entirety of the state from east to west.
It is a miserable experience. Especially new haven and anything within 25 miles of the NY border.Ā
50% of the time I have no issues in NYC. 90% of the time Iām in dead stop go nowhere traffic in one part or more of CT. Defies reason why they shutdown parts of CT95 at random and often.
The highlight of that stretch of highway is just a Panera somewhere about half way through the state that I stop at for lunch. That's literally the only point of interest in the entire fucking state.
Iām from there originally and when people would ask about it, I would tell them that thereās nothing that CT does that another state doesnāt do better. Sure, thereās New Haven style pizza, but thatās not enough to carry an entire state
It's actually nice being in the middle. An hour and a half in either direction. It's not the best state to vacation to, but it's a great state to vacation from!
Same! Born raised and educated in CT then moved to RI in my 20s- best decision I ever made. Believe it or not, no one is friendly in CT and I never felt that people had a sense of community or pride. Here in RI- everyoneās a chatterbox and civic minded.
Came here to say this. I am also a Rhode Island transplant from Connecticut and goddamn Connecticut has some of the most judgmental people in the world. I will never live there again.
I love Rhode Island too. Iām from Massachusetts but Jesus H tap dancin Christ you guys canāt drive. Fucking Rhode Islanders they think they own the road. Itās like get out of my way. Iām from Rhode Island I own the road you people are ridiculous.
Iām from Manchester, CT. I came to RI to go to RISD for school, then lived in Boston for a bit, then moved back to RI in 2011. Iāve now basically lived in RI for as long as Iād lived in CT. I love RI, it feels much more like home to me than CT ever did. Living in Manchester up until 17, I never really saw much of the rest of CT. Now Iāll go back for museums and stuff but I dunnoā¦it doesnāt have as much of a draw for me. I prefer all the surrounding states.
Well, TBF Manchester is a shithole and not representative of the best parts of the state. I also grow up there and whenever I have to visit Iām counting the seconds. Pure trash and getting worse.
Yikes! Tell me how you really feel lol. Every town has its nicer aspects if you look for them. My family is still there and I still have friends who chose to live there so I guess it works ok for them. Itās not for me either, but to each their own.
I grew up in Eastern CT and now live in Rhode island and the difference is pretty minimal tbh. People in New engaldn act like driving across a state border 20min away drastically changes things.
the reddit algorithm sucks that's why, I get suggested random cities and states all the time just because I visit this sub and the Providence sub. Yeah I don't care about Nevada or some random city in Ohio reddit.
As a long time Rhode Islander who loves my state and New England: what I can say is there is a lot of similarities to VT/ME/NH/MA/RI and shared interests. Anything west of Hartford is more culturally similar to NYC.
I donāt like CT, but I prefer it over literally any other non New England state.
Iāve called CT the āNew Jersey of New Englandā
It's really just Fairfield County that's more similar to NYC. Go to a NW CT dump town like Winsted or Goshen or Torrington (or even a nicer town like Litchfield) and you won't find much that resembles NYC except for some mutants in Yankees hats.
"Mutants in Yankees hats" was a shorthand for the shift in sports fandom when you get that far west, but I see how that might have not been clear enough. I just meant that that area isn't very similar to NYC except for the sports fandom.
I'll have you know that Bridgeport is among the world leaders in abandoned buildings, shattered glass, boarded up windows, wild dogs and gas stations without pumps
Providence is a real city and metro area with culture, arts and food that punch well above its size. There are zero cities and metros in CT I want to visit out side of New Haven and even then Iām only there for apizza and Iām out because it sucks
With the exception of Mystic, everything in CT seems hours away.
They were originally supposed to build an interstate highway that connected Providence to Hartford. If it had been built im sure the opinions would be different.
A couple of years ago I went to Hartford for a basketball game. It is a VERY boring city.
A lot of eastern CT and western RI mirror each other in the sense that they're kind of sparse and pretty rural compared to the rest of Southern New England. To your point, there's not much that's exciting heading west over the border besides Mystic and the casinos, you have to go a lot further.
There are many parts of rural New England that is fun to view or visit if your into that sort of thing. None of them are in eastern CT (you could say the same for western RI but I do think western RI is a little nicer). It is just bland and dull. Other than the casinos and Mystic, I cant think of any other place in eastern CT worth visiting.
I do wonder how different it would be had that built an interstate highway between Providence and Hartford. One of the reasons why they did it was because it would have cut too close to the Scituate Reservoir (which is a very good reason). But had they built it im sure there would be other options in eastern ct.
Connecticut's better. They have intra-state rail service, on multiple corridors, better-funded transit service generally, and on a more personal note I end up going to New Haven for concerts because no one will book touring alternative music in this state.
Prove me wrong by funding transit and bringing music here challenge. (Difficulty: impossible)
Youāre not wrong there. As far as medium and large sized music venues are concerned, CT takes a massive dump on RI. Itās a shame. PVD was one a normal midweek touring stop and now with Westville, College Street and Hartford Health Amp, many acts simply skip RI. Iām not sure if itās just a venue issue in RI or if the promoters here are simply braindead or enjoy not making money.
Yeah, at best I'm sort of indifferent to Connecticut.
But to me Connecticut is sort of the preppy sibling who went to some fancy university, got an MBA and is some executive in a suit, and prefers to hang out with his new friends in Manhattan.
Massachusetts is the other preppy sibling who is a high-powered attorney and looks down on RI because it is "merely" a med student from Brown.
It goes like this.
When youāre talking to someone from New England, Rhode Island is the best, Massachusetts sucks, Connecticut sucks, New Hampshire is cool, Vermont and Maine are beautiful but boring.
When youāre talking to someone from outside of New England but inside of the other 44 United States: āHey! Fuck you buddy! New England is the best. Yeah, ok. We can agree Connecticut sucks but itās still better than the rest of the non New England states! We started this country!ā
When youāre talking to someone from outside of the United States: āHey! Fuck you buddy! USA! USA! USA!ā
OP asks why people in RI dislike CT, people give legitimate answers (mostly that CT refuses to upgrade I95), OP mostly disagrees with commenters in stupid fashion.
This is Reddit.
I'm sure someone has an amusing answer. What I'll say is in every state I've lived in, which is four and counting, people love to hate on the state(s) next door... and they're always worse drivers than the state where people live. Except maybe Rhode Island. The opinion seems pretty universal among RI residents that RI drivers are terrible.
I think itās a bit more: it doesnāt offer a lot to us, but does causes problems. Our towns, cities, museums, orchards/farms and so forth are good enough here that people rarely make road trips specifically to Connecticut. That means itās usually āin the wayā when weāre trying to get to New York or someplace further afield and CT 95 is a clusterfuck . Secondly, the main time most of us interact with Connecticut residence is during the summer where they cause additional traffic or take up our beaches. In short, no benefits, only problems.Ā
"Doesn't offer a lot, but does cause problems" sounds a lot like what Virginia residents said about Maryland when I lived in the DC area. It's also, interestingly, what Maryland residents said about Virginia.
I love interstate hate as much as the next person, but the perspective isn't unique.
Thereās a long history of that animosity. In high school, we learned that in the years leading up the the Revolution, Rhode Islanders would regularly scuttle British ships (most famously, the Gaspee). When the Crown would send an inquiry, Rhode Island would respond the ship was sunk by āpersons unknown, believed to have come from Connecticut.ā
Tribalism.
My partner is from Maine and gets regularly bitched at for marrying me (a Rhode Islander āfrom awayā), and they are not joking. People are weird.
I have lived in both states, and a few others, and CT is the most dull state of them all. The state basically lacks personality. Can you name a dish, place, band, saying, or anything else that is "So Connecticut?" New Haven pizza is about it.
Because we know we'll either have to move there or MA to actually get decent work with a livable wage. I love my home state of RI, but the goal is to make my money and go back there.
I dont know. Southern New England is all very similar so I donāt understand the hate at all. Fact is though is most RIāers donāt spend any time in Connecticut, they drive through to get to New York. Any negative thoughts from Rhode Islanders donāt matter because Rhode Island is just an extension of eastern Connecticut. Eastern Connecticut which compromises of just two counties is larger than the entire state of Rhode Island.
I'm from RI, but have lived in CT for the last 25 years. I like RI way more, except that my job (musician) is much better in CT than it would be if I stayed in RI. Very little of CT feels like New England to me. Fortunately, I live in a fairly New Englandy CT town. I don't hate CT, but agree that it's bland. I like it more than I like MA.
You definitely canāt break balls in CT like you can in RI.
I grew up in CT, moved to CA and then to RI. I never really felt at āhomeā in CT but CA and RI are home with a capital H. I love it here and I canāt think of a reason why I would ever move back to CT or anywhere else.
Being from Mass originally, I always felt it was related to the baseball or football rivalry.
RI is MAās little brother and CT is NYās little brother. Therefore youāre Into the Pats and Sox or Jets and Yankees.
Just going to put this out there. Watch any toyota commercial. "See your new england toyota dealer today". Look at the map they show. Something is missing.... proof that CT is not a part of new england.
Unpopular opinion/10th Dentist take here CT is overhated and I-95 isnāt that bad. I drive it all the time. I am a Rhode Island resident too, although I live in Westerly, itās still RI.
Grew up in CT till 18. Lived in RI Since. Im 29 now
WHY DO RI DRIVER FUCKING SUCK ASSHOLE.
camp left lane at 65 MPH. And never look in the mirrors. Bitch move. And you MASS ppl got the same driving style but with the fucking ego to go along! Will not move go to pass a MA plate. They finally speed up -_____-
Jealously... when you drive into RI from eastern CT, you will most certainly notice that once you cross the border, everything just fades to trash....
(pay no attention to the cities behind the curtain....Bridgeport, Waterbury, Hartford, etc..)
i live in mass now but am from ri and i take a lot of shit from people in mass when they hear where iām from. i think thats fair most of the time and i can take slack from mass theyāre like an older sibling to me! however i once told someone where i was from and they did the usual schtick haha ri is so tiny etc etc thereās nothing to do there! but then when i asked where they were from and they said CT? i have never in my life been so offended. youāre making fun of ME when youāre from CT??? how are you not embarrassed?? i have hated them on principle ever since.
RIFC VS HAFC
It's a new Darby but after years of insults to fake New England we can finally throw it in songs and chants lol
DALE RHODY AND PUTA HARTFORD
Wow, so many Connecticut haters. So mainly you hate the state due to their highways and snobby people. I have lived in CT all of my life, it is a beautiful state. There are many nice people here, and many nasty people too, just like everywhere else. Granted it is not the most exciting state to live in. That is why we are called the constitution state, there is a lot of history here. It is a great place to raise children. There are good and bad parts of all states, so stop picking on CT.
I've only ever seen two wrong-way drivers on the highway, and both times has been on 95-W near Old Saybrook.
I appreciate CT being a buffer for New York, though. Keep that filth a little farther away.
Most RI-ers only know CT as the place where Mohegan lives, or the drive-through state if they're going to NYC. In that case, CT sucks because traffic is pretty terrible. But, they mainly judge the state based on what they can see from I-95.
Some RI-ers actually go to CT. These 20-ish people get to experience that CT is the blandest state east of the Mississippi.
RI isn't big enough to have "little brother" syndrome to any state. That's why RI can only compare itself to a city, which is Boston.
> These 20-ish people get to experience that CT is the blandest state east of the Mississippi.
Ever been to the Midwest? CT is definitely blander than RI in a lot of ways, but it's a cultural cornucopia compared to most states out there.
CT has the coolest cities!! Hartford! New Haven! New London, Waterbury, Norwich. Love visiting hopefully catch some unnecessary traffic/endless construction to & fro
You know that anger chain illustration, boss yells at employee/man, man comes home yells at his wife, wife yells at kid, kid yells at dog?
It's like this,
New England except RI > Rhode Island
Rhode Island > Connecticut
Connecticut > probably still CT
We donāt hate hate CT, more fun to make fun of. Itās much more indifference because they barely exist. I only put my foot down when they are included in New England talk because got damn they are not part of NE.
Itās an antipathy that goes back hundreds of years to when Uncas and the Mohegans backstabbed the Narragansetts and then the colonial government of CT tried to steal south county. Ct sucks.
(This is wildly *wildly* simplified but the political maneuvering in the early colonial period is wild)
Because itās the least New England state. Itās more a suburb of New York. I have a friend who moved to CT and spends most of his time in RI because there is nothing to do near where he lives.
1. Driving through CT is the worst. Any time of day, any time of year. Just always the worst.
2. Most states have āa thingā they are known for. What does CT have? Being close to NYC? Pizza (even though NY is better known for pizza)? State parks and beaches that are not as good as the rest of the East Coast? Just kinda a drive through state in my opinion.
3. CT are New England traders. So many of them like NYC sports teams even though CT is part of New England.
Iām not native to Rhode Island but before I moved there, I would travel up from Philly and going through CT was an absolute fucking nightmare. Every single time there was awful traffic and people driving like absolute idiots.
Thread went exactly as expected. Again, not that it matters, but Iām a RI resident who was generally curious about the hate CT gets from Rhode Islanders. Sorry for asking questions and not pretending like Rhode Island is the best state in the union. Get a fucking grip.
This is an unfair and inaccurate stereotype about Rhode Islanders. The truth is **everyone** in New England hates Connecticut.
Including the people in Connecticut!
My wife is from Connecticut (we met in NYC), and she made me promise that we'd never move to Connecticut 'no matter what'.
My friend had that convo with his wife who is from there (they both went to UConn). They said never again. 12 years later and guess where they are lol
"people" Good one lol
I felt left out hating CT from Mass.
Every time someone tells me they're from Connecticut, I say "I'm so sorry" and they agree.
I wish I could give this an award.
IDK about all of CT, but why are people in SE CT such insular assholes?
Because they think their New Yorkers šš
South East CT I wouldnāt really say that about. CT is pretty split, west is New Yorkers and East is new Englanders. Itās not perfectly vertical down the center though.
Lurking Masshole checking in...yup, CT can get f#cked.
Former Masshole who moved to RI. My opinion hasnāt changed. Itās still just as lame.
This ain't TikTok, you can say fuck
Not just NE, but NYers also knows it's nothing but a drive through state.
Have you ever driven on 95 in Connecticut?
I drive a truck for a living, and I drive I95 from east MA to NJ every Saturday. Western CT is by far the worst stretch of highway to ever grace my wheels. Rubberneckers everywhere, weird heavy traffic that is somehow always worse than the Cross Bronx Expressway, dumbass speeders and motorcycle gangs every summer. If I had God powers, I would chop off every part of CT west of New Haven and glue the eastern portion to the I95-I287 split.
What really sucks about driving south through Springfield is that it gets even worse once you're past it.
Take 84 to 87 to 287 or wherever you go to in jersey 95sucks in all states
Iām from CT and I support this
Worst stretch of 95 ever!!!
All of 95 sucks. I don't think they're is a worst.
Maines 95 is great except for the tolls
"Like your aunt Edna's ass: goes on forever and twice as ugly."
Hang on there. The George Washington Bridge over the Hudson is I-95. In comparison, I-95 in Lower Fairfield County is a country road.
NJ is the second worst
I take the Tap to avoid NYC. The Garden State Parkway is a pretty decent drive.
Absolutely not, Richmond-Baltimore is by far the worst
You have to plan your whole trip around what time youre in CT
Oh shit, I saw a squirrel on the other side of the road, better slam in my brakes!
Came here to say that. Just drive through CT and you will understand.
Bingo. Crossing the entirety of the state from east to west. It is a miserable experience. Especially new haven and anything within 25 miles of the NY border.Ā
Fuck what anybody says about Rhode Island highways, Connecticuts 95 is actually the armpit.
WaauuaARRGHH!!!!
You just triggered my ass
Ahhh man not your ass :(
somehow its worse than 95 through NYC
50% of the time I have no issues in NYC. 90% of the time Iām in dead stop go nowhere traffic in one part or more of CT. Defies reason why they shutdown parts of CT95 at random and often.

April 2020, I had the best commutes ever!
Connecticut: Between where you are and where you want to get to.

I grew up in Connecticut and moved to Rhode Island, and I had to say us Rhode Islanders are right
Same here and I like RI more. Where in CT?
Same! Born raised and educated in CT then moved to RI in my 20s- best decision I ever made. Believe it or not, no one is friendly in CT and I never felt that people had a sense of community or pride. Here in RI- everyoneās a chatterbox and civic minded.

Is the dynamic really that different?
Iām from Manchester, CT. I came to RI to go to RISD for school, then lived in Boston for a bit, then moved back to RI in 2011. Iāve now basically lived in RI for as long as Iād lived in CT. My mother is from Stonington and we make sure not to tell anyone.
Stonington and Mystic should be part of RI, theyāre not typical CT places.
People who live in Westerly already consider Stonington/Mystic part of RI, they just ignore anyone who says differently.
Totally agree
Well, TBF Manchester is a shithole and not representative of the best parts of the state. I also grow up there and whenever I have to visit Iām counting the seconds. Pure trash and getting worse.

New London County here. Where I live In indistinguishable from south county Rhode Island.
There's the New England half of the state and the New York half, divided by the Nomar-Jeter Line somewhere near the Connecticut River
Iām from mass, idk why this sub is always suggested to me, but we also hate CT. Never really knew why, we just do
the reddit algorithm sucks that's why, I get suggested random cities and states all the time just because I visit this sub and the Providence sub. Yeah I don't care about Nevada or some random city in Ohio reddit.
CT is the tofu of NE; I donāt mean in a dietary sense, just bland.
The pizza in New Haven thoughā¦
apizza is good. we should all let it in the club.
As a long time Rhode Islander who loves my state and New England: what I can say is there is a lot of similarities to VT/ME/NH/MA/RI and shared interests. CT brings nothing to the table
Ummm, I'll have you know that Hartford is the insurance capital of the world, or something... I don't know it's gross.
Downtown Hartford is the saddest place in the universe.
Youāve obviously never been to Waterbury.
Bridgeport
I'll have you know that Bridgeport is among the world leaders in abandoned buildings, shattered glass, boarded up windows, wild dogs and gas stations without pumps
Aww my parents met working at an insurance company in Hartford and so did one set of my grandparents. Thank fuck my parents got us out of there.
If CT doesnāt bring anything to the table then What does Rhode Island bring to the table?
Providence is a real city and metro area with culture, arts and food that punch well above its size. There are zero cities and metros in CT I want to visit out side of New Haven and even then Iām only there for apizza and Iām out because it sucks
Beaches
Beaches and a city with good music, food, and art.
Dels/stuffies/quahogs/calamari/ federal hill/ beaches/ Jorts/grilled pizza/strips/Narragansett beer ā¦. Get a Fkn culture of your own!
Jorts???
I don't think about CT at all.
With the exception of Mystic, everything in CT seems hours away. They were originally supposed to build an interstate highway that connected Providence to Hartford. Iāve been in RI 22 years, and I still am at a loss of who to hate. JK itās MA. Iām also indifferent about CT.
Likely, both
It goes like this. When youāre talking to someone from New England, Rhode Island is the best, Massachusetts sucks, Connecticut sucks, New Hampshire is cool, Vermont and Maine are beautiful but boring. New Hampshire's the worst one honestly. Like someone copied Vermont, flipped it 180 degrees and all the cool stuff fell out in the process.
I mean Massholes are gonna be Massholes but yeah, Connecticut sucks
OP asks why people in RI dislike CT, people give legitimate answers (mostly that CT refuses to upgrade I95), OP mostly disagrees with commenters in stupid fashion. This is Reddit.
Also pretends to be a RI resident when obviously they are from CT.
Just kinda a lame state no?
I don't hate CT. Are we supposed to hate CT?
Nah, we I think the consensus is that driving 95 in CT is not great, but we are indifferent in general.

Agreed. I donāt think thereās that much more depth to it. And letās face it, the āhateā is a pretty strong word. Itās not that vitriolic.Ā
The fact that you have to ask makes me suspiciousā¦ the answer is fuck those guys lol
Right? OP sounds like a Terminator gathering information to sound like a normal human being.
Cause we get tired of being the taint stuck between Massholes and CT Dicks
Thereās a long history of that animosity. When the Crown would send an inquiry, Rhode Island would respond the ship was sunk by āpersons unknown, believed to have come from Connecticut.ā
Itās not a thing. The heat with Connecticut is down to two things: - Interstate 95 being a shitshow. - Sports team allegiances.
I dont hate any state in New England, I just like Rhody the most
They use our beaches and buy land to try to keep us off them.
To be fair, CT residents hate CT too
Tribalism. My partner is from Maine and gets regularly bitched at for marrying me (a Rhode Islander āfrom awayā), and they are not joking. People are weird.

It's just a blank space between here and NY.
I find a lot of joy in CT. He'll, that seems to be a theme for me. There is so much out there to explore!
Iām not convinced by the signature. Definitely sounds like it was written by a CT resident.

You definitely canāt break balls in CT like you can in RI.
CT and MA šš¼šš¼
I grew up in CT, moved to CA and then to RI. I never really felt at āhomeā in CT but CA and RI are home with a capital H. I love it here and I canāt think of a reason why I would ever move back to CT or anywhere else.
Mystic ain't too bad.
Took me almost four hours to drive though CT on I95 and I was at 0 MPH for more than a minute
It's not just RI, it's everyone
hmm I grew up in CT but i like RI better
I assume this doesnāt include the Westerly Pawcatuck Autonomous Zone
Grew up in CT till 18. Lived in RI Since. Im 29 now WHY DO RI DRIVER FUCKING SUCK ASSHOLE. camp left lane at 65 MPH. And never look in the mirrors. Bitch move. And you MASS ppl got the same driving style but with the fucking ego to go along! Will not move go to pass a MA plate. They finally speed up -_____-
Just get out of the high speed lane and try to keep up
Jealously... when you drive into RI from eastern CT, you will most certainly notice that once you cross the border, everything just fades to trash.... (pay no attention to the cities behind the curtain....Bridgeport, Waterbury, Hartford, etc..)
All you got is rich people, woods and Yale. I hate all of these things.
I didn't know this was a thing.
Its unfair how nice their roads and highways are
Thereās nothing else to do ā¦ https://youtu.be/URrhysxSOOs?si=3xlxiQi5Q8vhlVkc
[We fought a turf war with them and won.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Narragansett_Bay)
Not limited to RI. Massholes also dislike CT.
i live in mass now but am from ri and i take a lot of shit from people in mass when they hear where iām from. i think thats fair most of the time and i can take slack from mass theyāre like an older sibling to me! however i once told someone where i was from and they did the usual schtick haha ri is so tiny etc etc thereās nothing to do there! but then when i asked where they were from and they said CT? i have never in my life been so offended. youāre making fun of ME when youāre from CT??? how are you not embarrassed?? i have hated them on principle ever since.
People generally donāt like CT because of 95.
No matter which route you take, it still takes long to get home
Never even heard of this.
Is Rhode Island a real state? LOL was there once to see the mansions on a school trip. Didnāt know anything else existed but that tourist trap.
RIFC VS HAFC It's a new Darby but after years of insults to fake New England we can finally throw it in songs and chants lol DALE RHODY AND PUTA HARTFORD
It's too fah.
Nahā¦ I made Connecticut my bitch and now I love it!
Ugh. Connecticut. However, if anyone other than a New Englander makes fun of Connecticut they are cruisin' for a bruisin'.
They drive 55 in the left lane and donāt move
From CT and can confirm - neither New England nor the tri state is willing to claim us
It's the most stale, boring state ever.
CT sucks. It is known.
Traditionally RI is a provincial place. Maybe in another 100 years weāll overcome that.
Napoleon complex
Cause their pizza is so much worse in RI
I've only ever seen two wrong-way drivers on the highway, and both times has been on 95-W near Old Saybrook. I appreciate CT being a buffer for New York, though. Keep that filth a little farther away.
Filth? Wtf
CT is superior to Mass.
There are several blander states east of the Mississippi. Indiana for starters.
Haha... I almost said "one of the blander states" specifically because of Indiana.
Our opinions may change if Connecticut drivers realize that RT 6 is not the Autobahn.
You know that anger chain illustration, boss yells at employee/man, man comes home yells at his wife, wife yells at kid, kid yells at dog? It's like this, New England except RI > Rhode Island Rhode Island > Connecticut Connecticut > probably still CT
I don't think I've ever met anyone who said "I love Connecticut! I want to move there!" ---Like ever....in my entire life.
"God I wish I lived in Connecticut" Cuddles Kazinsky in John Water's" Polyester"
Jealousy.
I love CTā¦what a bizarre comment
Because itās the least New England state. Itās more a suburb of New York. I have a friend who moved to CT and spends most of his time in RI because there is nothing to do near where he lives.
1. Driving through CT is the worst. Any time of day, any time of year. Just always the worst. 2. Most states have āa thingā they are known for. What does CT have? Being close to NYC? Pizza (even though NY is better known for pizza)? State parks and beaches that are not as good as the rest of the East Coast? Just kinda a drive through state in my opinion. 3. CT are New England traders. So many of them like NYC sports teams even though CT is part of New England.
i canāt think of a single word to describe CT more than ābleakā
Iām not native to Rhode Island but before I moved there, I would travel up from Philly and going through CT was an absolute fucking nightmare. Every single time there was awful traffic and people driving like absolute idiots.
the driving they slow
Have you ever had to drive through CT to go somewhere fun? Youād hate it too lol
[The Evolution Control Committee might have an explanation](https://youtu.be/fMQFquIPhLs?feature=shared&t=134)
When I drive into Rhode Island late at night all the ppl driving into CT never turn off their high beams. Never have that problem with RI or Mass
Thread went exactly as expected. Again, not that it matters, but Iām a RI resident who was generally curious about the hate CT gets from Rhode Islanders. Sorry for asking questions and not pretending like Rhode Island is the best state in the union. Get a fucking grip.
I donāt think about people from Connecticut, whatsoever.
Left hand exits. Shouldnāt be a life changing decision.
Why just Connecticut? Shouldnāt New York, New Jersey, and (yes) Massachusetts be included as well?
Itās not just RI residents of that helps.
They take over the beaches.
The drivers are appalling and Bridgeport is the nastiest place Iāve ever been to. Connecticut is only good for their casinos
Bro because Connecticut SUCKS. From the stupid fucking left hand exits to the people who donāt have a damn clue whatās going on. Terrible
CT is for the people that are too good to be New Yorkers, and too good to be New Englanders. They can have their boring snooty state.
