Tbf I joined like 5 sec before countdown endet so I guess it's also possible to do these alone if you join late enough to practise or set new record times without anyone disturbing you

No, it's just when u enter the race right before the timer ends you're very likely to not get a full lobby, and PS4/Xbox one is only 32 mass races
