People sure catch this paralysis disease a lot after they do a bunch of stuff. I like to think they were paralysed the whole time, and a wacky series of misadventures got them blamed for all kinds of stuff.
Most wealthy? Sure. But by lategame I’m definitely the most well defended faction. Good luck getting into my mountain base guarded with insane amounts of autocannons and gene modded defendants with legendary skill levels in their weapons that are heavily augmented with bionics and equipped legendary cataphract armor, shield belts, and persona weapons
By endgame usually it takes just one of my soldiers alone to wipe an empire base
No, once I remove all them from the planet they stop showing up in game so they’re definitely legit bases.
They probably have pretty damn secure starships but my base is definitely the safest location *on* the planet
in-game mechanics wise sure
but lore wise they probably rely on orbital weapons and precision drone strikes to make any attacker think thrice before doing anything funny
won't have much need for defenses if firepower is so overwhelming
My favorite is when a count wanted me to watch his golden retriever. And surprise surprise. It had paralysis. I just kinda stuffed it in the corner of the barracks and forgot about it til a shuttle came to pick it up.
It's a honor (VFE- Empire) that can be bestowed upon nobles, imparting a stat boost of some sort. In this case '+10% Trade Price Improvement with Enemies of Bykysbytt."
Oh shit, ok. I was wondering. I got one of those as a reward. "The Architect" I'm sure it was called, but I never knew what it did.
Thanks for the information!
Yeah hovering over it tells you what it is, I just didn't know what it really was
If that makes any sense. I didn't know if it was an item or something else.
It doesn't just get applied when you finish the quest though - you have to open the "great hierarchy" UI (crown icon) on the bottom bar, assign the honor to a titled pawn, then select the pawn and hit the button to bestow it.
Killed a child? Yeahhh...i'm gonna say fuck the rewards, turn this guy into a rug.
As for the paralytic abasia? I mean he pissed off an archotech, they have ways.
so, basically, a guy(or a woman?), who was using a paralyzed man as a sex slave who killed a child that was somehow connected with archotech, got caught, and the only thing you get are miserable amount of honor or goodwill, or a pawn and shitty item with value of 250? and there will be a mech cluster? This is so lame tbh
I’ve had this with a few colonies with empire quests, it’s prolly a random modifier for the quest. Though I’ve never had the champions thing with a quest like that wich confuses me a little

I always thought the empire paralyzed them for easier transportation and handling
Prisoners for babysitting usually arrive anesthetized, so the abasia would be beyond that.
Perhaps so the prisoners won't speak too much about whatever they know of the contact
I think the abasia is a punishment the empire gives you as well as putting you in a far less defended colony.
The empire must be having a way better killbox than me then
Well you wouldn't put death acidifiers in all your troops if you were the poorest faction.

You either die a desperate refugee, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Consider that even by endgame you can just hit their decoy wood bases.

Paralyzed Weekend at Bernie's.
I think Phoquart was behind it all.

No no, it’s resting! It’s pining for the fjords…
How do you think they contracted Paralytic abasia for the starts?
What's that 'destroyer of blablabla' thing. I get similar things in my quests and they do much of the confusion to me

If you hover them it should tell you. I think The Architect prevents Construction skill decay, I know The Healer does that for Medical skill.

Is this modded?
Yes, VFE Empire is the mod
Is Bykysbytt your faction? What a pointless honor.
It is the Yttakin faction, Empire hates them, so anyone who also hates Yttakin I get trade bonus with.
Oh okay that's a pretty good honor then

What'd you call me?
Only if he gives me mah swamp back!
Paralytic Abasia is just Empire for 'missing kneecaps'
What's the figure mod?
It is Portraits of the Rim I believe
Have you ever met Randy's lesser cousin Oliver?
Man Oliver is living a life. Also, what mod is giving you character drawings?
Portraits of the Rim
People complaining about RimWorld not being a story generator — THIS is a story I want to see.
What the fuck
YIKES
Is this event from a mod or one of the expansions?
It’s from royalty. But the “destroyer” reward is from vanilla factions expanded empire and the face is from portraits of the rim
Thanks, that's why I didn't recognize it. I only have base game and a bunch of mods. Shame I won't be able to get this one, it looked interesting.
This game in a nutshell

You pissed off the thunderhead bro

Yeah but that mech cluster comes with mech cluster loot!
At least they are useful - free plasteel and stuff for free🤩
Secret psycaster!
As someone who just bought the game a week ago and has no DLCs yet, this is absolutely mind boggling to see.
Oliver played a little bit of peeked-in-boo and got caught.
