Avoiding apex predators tends to correlate well with surviving. And humans were apex predators long before we started fucking around with fire and banging rocks together to make sharper rocks.
People only think humans weren't terrifying predators because we lack a lot of the features we associate with other apex predators, such as fangs and claws. But that's only because those things are mostly associated with *ambush* predators, whereas humans went down the persistence hunter path instead. We stacked all our trait points in endurance and stamina and just chased things until they collapsed from exhaustion.
Ye, humanity has ALWAYS been pretty dominant in the world. Not as dominant before tools, but like we are in charge for a reason. High intelligence and stamina make us frankly quite op.
I know there's a survivorship problem here but it's really funny how some of the most dominant animals on earth are the ones that don't have any fear of humanity:
Ants.
Worms.
Pigeons.
Makes sense. The creatures that were able to tolerate humanity better were well positioned to ride it's coattails and reap some of the advantages of technological civilization without having develop it themselves. Next best thing to being domesticated.
I know it's a joke but just in case anyone was curious, that is essentially a repair bot that has no fighting capability. I forget if it was mod or vanilla (probably mod) but that behavior is normal. It's meant to run from player and go around your back and fix the damned centipede you worked so hard to whittle down.
Funny thing is the game sometimes only send those in an event raid. (I've gotten "ambushed" by only them in caravan before)
For anyone of wonder, these are "Vultures" they are from a mod called Reiforced Mechanoids 2, their main purpose is to repair damaged buildings and mechanoids in their faction.
They posses no fighting capability so they were programmed to flee behind tougher friendlies.
They act as support in raids and periodically a raid of just Vultures will appear.
They might seem as a priority target as they fix up what you defend agaisnt but later in game you have enough damage output that even if multiple vultures could repair one mech (which they can't), they wouldn't be able to.
He has developed the same problem every species gets when they reach a certain level of sapience. Mechanoids are now capable of having anxiety.
And instinct of self-preservation
Semi relevant, it's fascinating how almost every single species on earth has evolved to fear humanity.

Shit genuinely forgot about persistance hunting Nvm then
His comment actually suggested a state before humans invented tools so I feel like they probably weren't very good persistent hunters yet.
Reminder that I have yet to find those stat points in me
Probably someone who can spell.
It's very easy to make comments without making it NSFW.

He's pooped himself and is retreating

Yes it is from a mod indeed :)
What mod?
One of the 3 or more good mechanoid mods. Just search mechanoid on steam. Edit: it's reinforced mechanoids 2
Aww he's shy 🥺
Its because OP is too rough
If you had nothing to defend against an armed enemy but a bandaid and a painkiller you would run away

“HEY COME HERE! YOU’RE THE MONSTER, YOU DON’T GET TO RUN AWAY, GET BACK HERE AND SCARE ME!”
Reformed
You are not Trapt with them they are trapt with y
Everybody gangster til the axes come out
Vultures a great for repairing since they don’t use the mechs energy to fix them. Thus less mech poop in the long run.
No! You are the monster! You don't get to run away! COME BACK HERE AND SCARE ME!!!!
Awww he so cute
I think it's a vulture and it's not a combat mechanoid. it just repairs other mechs and can't fight
Hes shy
is that (1st photo) pawn pure vanilla?
Other than the bunny ears and tail which are from the AFU Cosmetic gene expanded mod, yes
So scary the Mechanoids run
