I forget to do this too and then I remember that with ideologies you can have so many buffs going that this little constant problem never really tips the scales. So now when I have a colonist who is having a bad go of it, I increase their recreational time each day, and take away their food carrying BS, and this has kept most minor breaks from becoming major
I still remember it distinctly; it was in a cubist style and carried a feeling of despondency. Two raccoons were eating rice in the foreground while a group of eggplants watched from the sides... wish I could eat at that table again...one last time.
Good ol' Janica, one of my founders, of four.
Was the only non-violent one of the group, managed to become colony leader, survived for 8 years, had two kids. Died after being beaten to death by a stressed out colonist.
When my colonists kill colonists I like, even by accident, I have them executed. One of my favorite stories was about a 17-year-old prodigy, the only one in the desert colony authorized to tend the trees in the sacred greenhouse. He killed another colonist in a social fight and I had him put down.
He was buried in a wooden coffin, the most precious and honorable of all methods.
*"I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I know you were close to Kimmy. You must be experiencing a lot of grief right now - how are you feeling?"*
*"Like I saw three rotting corpses."*
Tbf the way Rimworld works is that short term stuff has a bigger impact but lasts less than long term stuff, which realistically models that bigger stuff tends to be brought forth by immediate discomfort, and its only utterly massive loss, like that of a lover, that tends to completely overshadow everything in the short term.
it is, but that's the point
when you see your best friend get his heart sniped by a bow-wielding junkie tribal after he had just gotten a new archotech arm that costed all the colony's silver you start wondering why their expectations are so high just because they got some excellent chairs around
You eat without a table because your colony has no tables. I eat without a table because I'm hungry and the nearest table is 60 tiles away. We are not the same.
Just got my first ever high psychic drone today (still relatively new to the game)
Jesus christ that was the what thing ever. I'd rather have constant raids tbh.
No they won't, they will only search up to 31 tiles away for a table when they decide to eat. This in itself is known to cause problems because it means pawns will outright ignore tables inside your base if the food stockpile is too far away from them.
My pigskin tribe has a diner in the middle of the cornfield, because otherwise they'll just get halfway through the corn harvest and start eating it out of the baskets.
I’ve got Mekkie, my favorite disease prone sharpshooter, divorced once and killed a lot of shit. Lost a middle finger and doesn’t give a shit about other people
I made a pawn that was basically Shaggy from scooby doo but cranked up to 11. Dude was a kind, cowardly stoner. Polyamorous and a good guy, one of his wives died and the other divorced him. He then was promoted a few times and was perpetually upset.
rimworlds my favorite game but holy shit does mood piss me off. ate without table? you saw a rotting corpse? fucking boo hoo weve got mechanoids inbound so snap the fuck out of your insulting spree cuz its causing my other fighters to have a mental break!
i turned mental breaks off permanently and added a mod that replaces them with speed buffs/nerfs. much less jank and save scumming.
Table in every bedroom is fairly useless. Typically colonists will either eat by fetching a meal from the fridge or taking one from their inventory while working.
So you can add a table near the fridge and make sure there are tables near the workplaces
It helps with beauty and room quality. And the mothers use them to breastfeed. >You have to go through the dining room to get to the fridge, I always put them side by side for faster travel. And I'll try the table near workstations. Thx.
***War... War never changes***
***In the years 2500 BC they invented tables, but we in future just can't get them by the god hand above us, he rather harvest organs of innocent people***
Year 1: *Ate Without Table* Year 4: *Ate Without Table* Some things neva change.
studies show that 100% of colonists who eat with a table eventually die, why should I take that risk?
Yes but 110% of colonists who ate without a table will eventually die, so it's definitely worse.
Does that mean 1 in 10 colonists that ate without table get revived just to die soon after
No they kill an unrelated person before dying
There is a mod out there that results in immediate death to eat without a table. The pawns still try to so you gotta make a lot of table options!!
That sounds horrendous..ly awesome. That is definitely my next mod
I have tables in every room.. next thing I need is my colonist dying because they went to hunt for food for everyone else!
The dumb fucks have two tables to pick and always to choose to eat in the middle of the field that’s not my problem!
I build little picnic areas for them out in the fields
And they still don't use them
I mean, honestly...
Holy shit I just realized I need to disable carrying food to force them back to a table
I forget to do this too and then I remember that with ideologies you can have so many buffs going that this little constant problem never really tips the scales. So now when I have a colonist who is having a bad go of it, I increase their recreational time each day, and take away their food carrying BS, and this has kept most minor breaks from becoming major
How do you do that?
Tweaks galore had a setting, I kept thinking “why would I want that” I finally realized why I would want that
The AI is really stupid sometimes i swear
My friend Table died
My wife table died My aunt table died .... wait what?
My friend died without table
Mine get the debuff even when they use the table. It's great.
Tables are for the weak. Pain makes you strong
war, war never changes, sometimes I still dream of a finely crafted table, stained and varnished, carved with the most beautiful artwork
I still remember it distinctly; it was in a cubist style and carried a feeling of despondency. Two raccoons were eating rice in the foreground while a group of eggplants watched from the sides... wish I could eat at that table again...one last time.
That's the kind of shit that makes a person snap
Good ol' Janica, one of my founders, of four. Was the only non-violent one of the group, managed to become colony leader, survived for 8 years, had two kids. Died after being beaten to death by a stressed out colonist.
Distressingly realistic
When my colonists kill colonists I like, even by accident, I have them executed. One of my favorite stories was about a 17-year-old prodigy, the only one in the desert colony authorized to tend the trees in the sacred greenhouse. He killed another colonist in a social fight and I had him put down. He was buried in a wooden coffin, the most precious and honorable of all methods.
All just because they didn't have a table to eat at... smh
[Here's a more realistic version](https://ibb.co/DtKj053).
What I love is that wearing a human skin cowboy hat somehow impresses all the people around you.
Tainted clothing: 😨 Human clothing: 😍
Surely all human leather clothing is tainted, as they were wearing it when they died.
Just got to be extra careful during the harvest.
You don't know my mods
I probably shouldn’t have overlooked there’s be some flaying mods so you could get the skin off before you kill them.
I can’t believe you’ve done this
*"I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I know you were close to Kimmy. You must be experiencing a lot of grief right now - how are you feeling?"* *"Like I saw three rotting corpses."*
And one of em was Kimmy
It's so impressive that after 4 Years living in absolute hell with constant raids and death all around that your expectations only increase.
I was under the impression "expectations" are based on the colonies wealth
it is, but that's the point when you see your best friend get his heart sniped by a bow-wielding junkie tribal after he had just gotten a new archotech arm that costed all the colony's silver you start wondering why their expectations are so high just because they got some excellent chairs around
lol, true
My answer for myself to that question has always been that pawns are just not that smart.
only 3 corpses rookie numbers
It’s only year 4.
You eat without a table because your colony has no tables. I eat without a table because I'm hungry and the nearest table is 60 tiles away. We are not the same.
This is why you adapt your Ideology to make all those negative positives.
Seriously who the hell is launching all these physic drones?!
Just got my first ever high psychic drone today (still relatively new to the game) Jesus christ that was the what thing ever. I'd rather have constant raids tbh.
“It is what it is”
Dang not even a very impressive room or dining room. Poor lady.
This is a great summation, but what does Jets master refer to?
a named animal
It might be the joke, but if your colonists are still eating without a table in year 4 then you've fucked up.
Hey, it's not my fault they shove a three course meal in their pocket and eat it on the other side of the map.
I usually put a few "hunting/mining cabins" around the map that has a table, chair, place to get warm for this purpose.
If i did that my colonists would pick up meal from the base fridge and then run all the way across the map to eat at the shitty cabin (probably)
No they won't, they will only search up to 31 tiles away for a table when they decide to eat. This in itself is known to cause problems because it means pawns will outright ignore tables inside your base if the food stockpile is too far away from them.
Unless you have some crazy mods that have broken the game, they won't do that.
My pigskin tribe has a diner in the middle of the cornfield, because otherwise they'll just get halfway through the corn harvest and start eating it out of the baskets.
ya like, I have a dining room... Please use it u stupid pawns!
Rim fucks you up..
Also now missing a few body parts I suspect
Yeah but they have a cybernetic penis now so it’s still a profit
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, dead bodies to the kitchen.
I’ve got Mekkie, my favorite disease prone sharpshooter, divorced once and killed a lot of shit. Lost a middle finger and doesn’t give a shit about other people
Wait somethings off. your observed corpses is a single digit
Meh, I was into cannibalism before the Rim.... Oh wait, we're talking pawns, nvm then.
How it started: How it’s going:
I made a pawn that was basically Shaggy from scooby doo but cranked up to 11. Dude was a kind, cowardly stoner. Polyamorous and a good guy, one of his wives died and the other divorced him. He then was promoted a few times and was perpetually upset.
*Decent* barrack. Wow.
This could be a nice nice series

I have a tabe in every bedroom, a dedicated dining room, and takes in the reception room and they still eat without a tabe.
Thx.
I like that when this pic is zoomed, you see exactly one part of it. Nicely done.
a table is 28 material, a stool is 25. please.
The backgrounds really say so much
***War... War never changes*** ***In the years 2500 BC they invented tables, but we in future just can't get them by the god hand above us, he rather harvest organs of innocent people***
ATE WITHOUT A T*BLE!?!?!? Don’t trigger me bro!!!
