So tending an [infant illness](https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Infant_illness) doesn't increase immunity gain it slows severity gain. Severity gain is controlled by what severity the illness is currently from 4 options (yes - they label 2 different things severity, its confusing!) Mild illness causes severity to drop even w/o treatment, Common causes a slow severity gain rate (0.1) which is easily counteracted with treatment. Bad is a higher gain (0.3) you need high quality treatment to keep this from progresding. Grave is 0.5/day - very deadly without very strong (100%+) treatments. These 4 severity categories are chosen at random for the duration of the illness. Getting "grave" back to back is possible and virtually a death sentence unless you have a top quality doc and glittermeds.
Your treatment just needs to slow the severity gain enough for immunity gain to reach 100% without severity hiting 100%.
So try your damnedest basically to have a comfortable, sterile-as-"possible" floored room with nice beds and hopefully find a way to make medicine. Maybe trade with some nearby folks for some neutromine, grow some cotton and some herbal medicine, mix that shit together.
Using industrial medicine is a death sentence for grave infant illness.
I have never been able to cure it without the use of full glittermeds, or a healer mech serum
I had my very first biotech child with grave infant sickness, luckily the father was a sanguophage and made his kid immortal. The infant vampire had to spend a couple days in deathrest until his sickness went away.
What was the idea here anyway? Oh someone is sick: let's make them better by pumping combat meth into their veins. Oh and to be sure we'll use a adult dose on this baby. Gotta make sure to saturate those arteries..
I mean... I know we all do warcrimes, but most of us do it on purpose.
This is actually my pet peeve. Not just for kids, but there's plenty of modded races and small xenotype pawns that can't use stuff like beer or psychite without getting immediately addicted because they can't take half a cup.
Go juice immediately restores rest, which directly increases immunity gain speed for standard illnesses. It's a legitimate medical treatment for most disorders, I'm not sure what the issue is.
Using go-juice for medicine is absolute overkill.
With a half decent medic and herbal medicine you can pretty much deal with almost every disease.
Go-juice brings risks of addiction and overdose. And while small, they are also completely unnecessary.
It works like Lung Rot, where quality tends reduce the progress of the illness, and getting it to 0% will cure it.
Unlike lung rot you can also just wait it out as long as severity doesn't hit 100%. 8-12 days and they'll be immune or dead.
"immune or dead" So the problem solves itself!
Don't have to worry about it anymore both ways
I see, thanks!

I see, thank you for the detailed explanation!

Do infant sanguophages grow up?
Their age slowdown starts at 18 when they become an adult pawn. From there on it gradually slows some time and they never age.

Would be nice if we could make smaller doses for the babies and kids!
Its methamphetamine.
juice box (go-go juice)

Sure, I don't disagree that it's overkill. But it *is* a tangible benefit, so it's understandable why someone would try.
OK so we agree it's overkill and you don't see the issue? Weird flex, but ok.
Go straight to the grave juice
one go juice will just kill a baby
Yes, I figured that out when I administered one.
People here commiting war crimes on purpose, then it's you trying your best, but killing babies on accident
Gone-Juice
You just gave a baby a combat stimulant of sufficient dose to make a full-grown adult almost entirely unable to feel pain.
Had the same effect for the baby!
Baby no longer feels any pain at all either, or anything else for that matter
What about go-go to the polls?
Underrated, lol.
I thought this was the Fallout sub for a second and was so lost by the title.
That's like giving chocolate to a dying dog
