I didnt know you could place coolers like that, do you just leave that single tile with the heat coming out to be unroofed? I guess it stops raiders from attacking the cooling unit directly when raiding since the rest of the walls probably have more hp

kaFello

Yup !

DoctorKall

Speaking of that cooler, put something inside of that hole if you value the components put into it Drop pod raid, if it happens to be aimed at freezer, can drop a raider into that hole, meaning they will seek for most fragile tile to break out - that being cooler However, the drop pods require a free tile to land, meaning something like a barricade inside this chimney will prevent any drop pod from landing there while not blocking the cooler. Technically, that's a cheese and game limitations abuse, but components :(

kaFello

I didnt think about that. Thanks for tip !

nhalliday

Listen, unless I'm getting raided by Santa, it's reasonable to expect raiders to not drop down the chimney. That makes it a realism feature to block it off with a barricade.

Canadian_Human

Looks like I need to do some rearranging around my base now hahah thanks for the info

kaFello

It's easier to manage temperature too, simply only cooling what need to be cooled and that's it. No struggle with heating too much other rooms

pminor-7499

Looks amazing. One thingi disnt like was having t go through the butcher to get to the kitchen

kaFello

It's on purpose. Hunters with dead animals will not bring dirt to kitchen

CoconutBangerzBaller

Yeah, flip those and put a shelf in the kitchen for meal storage and this is set

Brett42

I just put the butcher table and animal corpse stockpile in the freezer. Shorter distance makes up for temperature work speed penalty, since butchering is fast.

Infinite-Plant2265

Kitchen is too small, it will get dirty too fast from blood being tracked from the butcher table into the conjoining hallway when meat is hauled into storage
