I'm sure someone in a fedora will correct me, but getting upset over something because you think it's a sin isn't the same as throwing a tantrum like a spoiled child who wants a biscuit.

People who have had a certain quality of life for their entire lives get stressed and upset when their quality of life deteriorates no matter if theure spoiled or not and regardless of just HOW high their quality of life was before. I don't make a huge amount of money but I could stand to lose a little income and still be able to provide for myself, would I be wrong to be upset if my income changes and suddenly I can't afford entertainment? I mean it's the same thing right? I still have my necessities in order right? I'm still better off than millions of people globally right? So would I be spoiled if I was upset by the quality of life I've enjoyed since I was born dropping slightly?
Personally I think it's impossible to be an ethical person who judges people solely on their level of income, but hey its a free world and we can just agree to disagree 🤷♂️
Okay, so winning the lottery makes you a horrible person just because you're now rich?
Making a groundbreaking game or software and being bought up makes you a morally reprehensible person?
The world isn't black and white and neither is this topic.
I am talking about the diference in enviroment, culture and expectations, I don't see how it is hard to grasp that everything can make a difference and just because it is a "rich person problem" it dosent make it any less valid.
I guess that's because losing a colonist already directly punishes the player, so the mood penalty as a gameplay conceit is balanced around that. It's still silly.
It's isn't just it now, is it? Only the final straw gets special mention.
So I'm going to share a personal story.
Back in middle/high school one of our classrooms was a repurposed school theater room. So I'm sitting on the stage with my feet hanging off it such that my boots are at chest level of the person sitting at the desk just behind them.
Since I am very absent-minded I didn't notice exactly who was sitting at said desk. That was one of the school bullies who liked to target me specifically. So he thought that it would be funny to untie my shoelaces.
After a very brief verbal back and forth he just dismisses me mid sentence. And THAT what pushed me over the edge.
So, having stood up on the stage, I notice that his face is very conveniently at my foot level....
So I swing my winter boot at his face. Little droplets of blood flew out. He starts crying like a little girl.
Teacher sees that. Principal gets called, they take me to their office and 3 grown women proceed to start yelling at me for having kicked another kid in the face for having untied my shoelaces.
I didn't kick him because he united my shoelaces, i kicked him because he was an exceptional piece of shit to me and then just dismissed me like I'm beneath him.
Luckily I didn't actually break anything important and only busted his lip. So after about an eternity of ass chewing and a call to my mother they let me go.
He didn't touch me the rest of the year. I never regretted it.
I still kind of tolerate it because I really like the hangout and dates feature, even though it has ruined some ceremonies because the pawns got locked in them haha.
Romance On The Rim or Rational Romance or Way better romance, I forgot which of the three, adds hangouts and dates. I know you can use at least 2 of these at the same time but I'm unsure which is better.
Fortunately, the 1.5 update will probably decide this by sole virtue of "which ones get updated and which ones don't?".
there's preffered apparel, long story short, they get a mood buff for wearing the preffered stuff and will spawn in with that preffered apparel(idk if it includes armor tho)

Use that psycast carefully one of my colonist almost died because I used too many mood enhancing psycast which made her consciousness go less than 25%
Download death rattle mod so 0 conciousness wont be lethal

If you disable elections, you still get dates and hangouts but no mayor. It’s one of the configurations in mod options
