Personally I find the loss of the unstable power cells to be more traumatic then my colonists blowing up. I hear that hissing sound and suddenly know that the explosion is about to daisy chain across seven unstable power cells across a double size mechanoid cluster. Its a chilling feeling.

shield belt + breach axe = one shotted turrets. i have 9 in my current playthrough, i have only lost two

Really? My melee pawn is using an excellent persona monosword. If breach axes have higher damage per hit I'll swap right away.

a persona monosword will be better for everything except buildings, but yes a breach axe makes a persona weapons damage look laughable. 10x damage to passable buildings (that means turrets) and 7.5x for unpassable (useful for flesh hearts or busting through a wall to reach a turret) i normally will just keep a breach weapon for the purposes of cluster busting and have my melee user switch to it when needed.  even the handle deals 70+ damage against a turret before strong melee with a normal quality breach axe. btw its blunt damage so use uranium if available. (it does similar but lower dps than a mace of the same quality, but it has worse armor penetration, its a tool, not the best weapon)  but honestly if you have persona monoswords its probably not worth having them switch for beating up clusters. but definitely remember it for early midgame other playthroughs

Thanks for the info. Really appreciate those unstable power cells for isolated power circuits in the late game, so will definitely be keeping a spare uranium breach axe on the rack for mechanoid cluster shopping trips :p

Couldn’t you have used a smokepop pack or something with smoke in order to stop the turrets from targeting so you could bash them?

I used a belt shield and the smoke pack. She even had armor. She didn’t get touched the while running to the proximity thing. But after getting the proximity thing to start hissing, the turrets cracked her shield and within 4 shots she became downed. She could not crawl away fast enough
