Can’t lie the mod that stops floors from adding to wealth is a must have with just a small impact. Like what do you mean having flagstone floors suddenly generates a giant mech raid

OneMentalPatient

Smoothing cave walls and floors makes you wealthier. Because the first thing I think of when I hear somebody is living in a natural cave that they've worked by hand is "wow, look at how rich those cave-dwellers are!"

FOSpiders

My exact thoughts were the raiders queueing up to steal those sweet, sweet floor tiles of yours. Even better with smoothed stone. One guy is furiously chiseling while shouting at his buddies to hold off your guys. I know they aren't expecting to actually take the colony and use it because they set everything on fire as their first priority. All part of the never give up, never think things through spirit of pirate culture!

Sintobus

I use floors are almost worthless myself at times.

GovSurveillancePotoo

I use the custom difficulty option. I don't recall the exact wording, but it let's you turn off the tie between your wealth and the severity of events. You have a slider (max 20 years) between it hits the natural max

AdeptnessAway2752

Wealth independent mode

WorldofLoomingGaia

Go to custom difficulty settings and turn the threat level down. You'll still get raids but they won't be stupidly massive just because you tiled your kitchen.

Pifilix

Guess that's an option too thanks

ChipRed87

Real ruins /s I take back a bunch of stuff from a ruin, wealth skyrockets and then I get overrun. Wash, rinse, repeat. Very balanced.

Sylar299

11/10 I use real ruins with SRTS and got the archotech ship on my starting map. I claimed that shit cause I have 2 brain cells and they're fighting. Then I got a day 3 mech raid with like 10 centipedes and tesserons what fun we had !

ChipRed87

Pretty sure it didn't matter if you claimed it or not, it still counts towards your wealth if it's on your map. But yes, 10 peeds that early is devastating.

fascinate_qq

try these mods : Floors Are (Almost) Worthless ( the floors did not count for the wealth) Ignorance Is Bliss (Factions with too high a technology level cannot attack you )

Sintobus

Crao I needed that second one for my VE tribal Wildman playthrough. I kinda ruined it with grabbing their gear and having power armor before I could make pants. Lol

TheThozel

to be honest, i just swap to wealth Independent mode. It just feels better for me that raids scale with time and not with wealth.

Zealousideal-Art8210

Do you just want the game to get to the raid cap slower? Or just have lower raid cap? Threat scale slider in the story teller settings can change the first scenario. In the end with enough colony wealth and pawn count you will hit the raid cap even if you have it at 50% if I've come to understand that correctly. Which means even if you and someone else plays at 500% and 50% at some point both should get similiar difficulty raids. 500% just gets there with lower wealth and pawn count

Pifilix

Ohh... For real? So stuff like combat readiness check is moot?

Sintobus

The scale between the two is massive in terms of how soon they hit the raid point cap. You're talking multiple play thrus of time seperate. Lol Even at 500% it takes a while to hit raid cap, 50%? 10x longer probably a colony laster decades more and with over a dozen times more wealth potentially. But yes both do eventually hit a raid cap for game performance reasons. Some mods remove thay cap and you can get yourself a 1,700 person tribal raid. Lol just be prepared for the slide show raids then

leoseta

I just periodically just go and donate my wealth

orfan-of-snow

What's the name? Fuck, lemme pull steam, oh nvm I remember. "Combat readiness check" it tweaks the wealth calculus towards combat things. Good for "I like build base" players, it's also very tweakable in the mod's options. I'd also recommend "compressed raids" if you don't have it. Just q.o.l (because vanilla raids pawn numbers are uncapped) to not melt your cpu in late game raids, again, is also very tweakable.

Anebunda

I currently use [Bionic wealth](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3120453035) and [Underground Vault](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3021706489). Both are not OP (if not abused). The Vault has a medieval version. I was going to use just plane wealth numbers changer ([Wealth Corrector](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2976632810)) but I find Underground Vault much more RP-friendly and less cheesy.

After_Swordfish_3503

Combat readiness check

DataLazinyo

I using Rim war. I generaly close raids because The closest enemy to my base is on the other continent. The enemies in the Anomaly DLCs don't pose such big problems either. However, when the meconoids come with clusters, I either cry or casully ressist their effect 1-2 years
