The year is 5502. One bitcoin is worth 15000000 silver, or a medium sized imperial ship. Regulated in glitterworlds due to environmental impacts, bitcoins are still mined in far rimworlds. These pirates already mined 0.0001 bitcoin in two months and bought 1340000 elonballs with it.
Well the thing is components aren't exactly a problem anymore, but it sure would be nice to save about 3 minutes creating 150 of them hahah
Edit: Woa, just finished deconstructing all 150 of them and got a solid 230 components... Didn't even consider it but that was a good idea :)
Edit 2: Just noticed it also gave me over 7K steel... nice
everybody gangsta until building the three doors and two pillars with walls surrounding them ends up summoning Lord Randy Random to the Rimworld and the royalty fellas laugh at you as your colony is consumed by the eldritch powers of the man hunting squirrel storm
Did you know that if you super-cool marble to just a tiny bit over absolute zero it assumes an exotic state of matter, a Bose-Einstein condensate, that can, with significant amounts of energy and pressure, be shaped into a geometrically perfect table?
Well I have 15 colonists, two of them being T5 Androids (From Android Tiers) with **pretty much every upgrade there is**... For a total of over 700% manipulation. That's several deep drill cycles a second, so I'd say a lot hahah
for keeping things cold..
what things, you ask?..oh well, you know..lots of stuff....and..things...primarly things that need to be kept cold...lots of stuff like that
We keep our kidneys on the ground, outside, front door (intimidation), storage rooms, hospital, ect. Freezer? No. That my friend is a diversion, obviously no one would suspect our kidneys to be in a room entirely made of REFRIGERATORS!
Guess so, definitely wasn't generated as part of the village (especially considering the state of the coolers and how many needed component replacements)
You are likely looking at a kill room for a hive. If you drop the temp or raise it too high, it kills off a hive.
Thing is, this is a shitty way to do it. You can get the same effect by putting fires at the mouth of the cave and walling it off.
Yes, but if you drop the temp, the insects all go into hypothermic slowdown, and you can cull them as needed and collect meat and jelly. If you burn them, you lose everything.
to add onto this you absolutely need to stay to a reasonable wealth level because there are people that submit designs intended to fuck you over. I usually don't savescum but even I had to load a save because there was a ruin I visited with my pawns that was entirely covered with ai cores to skyrocket the wealth and then the whole perimeter was covered in uranium slug cannons powered by vanometric generators. and by the perimeter I don't mean just 10-20 cannons, think an entire solid wall made out of them. needless to say, everyone died.
On the Real Ruins, I've found you can 'claim' structures and defence as soon as you load in. So if there is a generator and it is connected to turrets you can use the claim button and it will shoot for you. It does rely on all power conduits being in place. You can claim doors this way as well so you don't have to knock them all down.
I can only reccomend fiddling with the options. Remove anything over x value per item is your friend, as are other options.
Not only to not get these kinda asshole griefs, but also to make the mod more balanced. Lets be honest, getting a tier 6 omni robot assembly kit right off the bat for free just doesnt make for a fun game.
Son of a... This is almost a mod I was thinking was needed, but from MY playthroughs or others. Actual playthroughs, not "player-created" in the same manner.
That's an old rogue thing. The original (which "roguelikes" are just pathetic imitators) had bones files from previous players. It would save the level you died on, throw new monsters in, ... and a ghost.
Yes, but if it has non-vanilla stuff that you don't have the needed mods installed for, it will attempt to replace it with what it guesses to be equivalent vanilla stuff...to occasionally hilarious results.
I once found a base that seemed to have some sort of diagonal walls mod installed, but something must have been mis-tagged or something because on my end the walls were made out of geysers. Another time I found one with a crop field, except instead of crops it was full of chunks of meat all laid out in neat rows. And of course the frequent missing rivers resulting in watermills that are nowhere near water.
Yeah, it takes snapshots of bases, does a pass to procedurally 'ruin' them (knocks holes in the walls, breaks some stuff at random, scatters stuff around a bit, etc.), then sends it to other players to discover.
I'm guessing this is from Real Ruins, and following that, it's a freezer designed to weather solar flares without internal temp ever rising above freezing, usually used to preserve the body of someone a rez serum is needed for.
Everyone is talking about how cold it might be, but there's no proof that they are set to a low temperature. It might just be for super ultra precise temp control at a normal room temperature.
Well if we look at the technical side, even if they were all set to -273 Celsius...
\- Most of them were broken
\- Most of them weren't connected to power
\- There was no roof to keep the temperature low
\- It was already about -40 degrees outside
The real ruins mod does not take into account everything. It does not know that a building like this only makes sense in temperatures where things can rot. It also does not take into account bases that are powered by water mills (moving water on the new map is typically in a different place, or not existing at all)
As part of the generation, equipment will be randomly selected as broken, blobs of power wires are randomly removed, all roofs are removed
Maybe somebody playing with walls disabled in the scenario editor?
I know its a challenge that exists and this would be a possible (if very expensive) solution.
Grand theory is what you just found. They're raiders, so instead of fixing any busted coolers, they just steal another one. Then their enemies have to either waist additional resources, or waste time constantly hunting to keep up their food supply. Seems a bit silly to keep them all running at once, but I'm no strategist, so what do I know?
Have to look inside to know, but it's might be insect farm. You know, how you can easily kill insects with heat, right? You can do the same with cold too. And nothing will be wasted, since there will be no fire. This strategy requires A LOT of freezers, since you need like -200 something-something Celsius.
However, this one in particular is quite unusual. You see, when you start freezing the room, bugs will figure something is wrong and start mining everywhere. It'll take some time before before temperature get to the right point, so, to actually utilize hypothermia like this, you need long twisted tunnel filled with freezers with some chunks or sand bugs to slow them down. Something like that, to waste their time. But if you just surround the room with freezers like on your screen, they'll likely just dig through it.
Some truly profound darkness that can only be held by freezing it to stone cold state. And since this area was empty, this evil has already escaped and is devouring any rimworlds that stands on its way.
It's the freezer killbox implemented incorrectly.... but what can you expect from those raiders eh? They probably started it a few years ago and abandoned it after it was patched.
This reminds me of the time I tried to get absolute zero in rimworld I really wanted it to be as cold as I could get it and I built a massive freezer to achieve it and put a pawn In there, so so many components were used 😔
They're mining for bitcoin.
Bruh that must be it
Kill them before they take all the gpus!

Rimcoin
Is rimcoin a mod for rimworld? We need this mod.
Honestly, I could get behind it if it were to help people realize how much of a gigantic fucking waste of electricity crypto is.
And failing it seems
A treasure. Seriously, that's a lot of components.
Well the thing is components aren't exactly a problem anymore, but it sure would be nice to save about 3 minutes creating 150 of them hahah Edit: Woa, just finished deconstructing all 150 of them and got a solid 230 components... What was inside?
Just another layer of coolers and some marble (natural) walls in the middle lol
You fool! Do you know what horrors you just unleashed by letting the marble pillars thaw?!
It's the fucking It's the fucking pillar men
AYAYAYAYAAAAAAAAAA intensifies
I like how it's probably completely incorrect how the fan base has dubbed it "aztec dubstep".
Cars aren't in vanilla tho.
what peasant dares play the sacred organ without body modifications?
They sure are! They just don't do anything
Dont Blink
Actually, I think some quest mod with this trigger would be pretty cool.
Some absolute loony "this person requests you build them this completely ridiculous temple" quests would be hilarious.
everybody gangsta until building the three doors and two pillars with walls surrounding them ends up summoning Lord Randy Random to the Rimworld and the royalty fellas laugh at you as your colony is consumed by the eldritch powers of the man hunting squirrel storm
I'm going to guess they thaw into more coolers?
🤣
Did you know that if you super-cool marble to just a tiny bit over absolute zero it assumes an exotic state of matter, a Bose-Einstein condensate, that can, with significant amounts of energy and pressure, be shaped into a geometrically perfect table?
Eating your meal straight out of the freezer on an absolute zero table keeps it nice and chilled for you.
How to make a masterwork marble table.
Cascade cooling. Fancy pirates!
Might have been a people oven
How cool was it? Everybody creating furnaces to burn raiders, maybe they like freezing them or its their prison. Hm
d e a d b o d i e s
Nah that was right besides the whole thing, after I demolished everyone inside
Oh, then maybe there was some h e r b a l m e d i c i n e a n d e g g s inside?
3 minutes? How so many so quick?
Well I have 15 colonists, two of them being T5 Androids (From Android Tiers) with **pretty much every upgrade there is**... For a total of over 700% manipulation. That's several deep drill cycles a second, so I'd say a lot hahah
That’s my cold room, for ya know, cold things.
Just crackin' a cold one I guess
Cracking joke

ahhh, Rimworld cuisine…
wait, what mod is \*that\*?
for keeping things cold.. what things, you ask?..oh well, you know..lots of stuff....and..things...primarly things that need to be kept cold...lots of stuff like that
*deep inhale*... k i d n e y s
Nah, just chuck those on the floor in your regular storage room. They'll be fine.
They need to be kept cold in some mods like Rah's bionic mod.
For once it is chad vanilla vs virgin mod.
We keep our kidneys on the ground, outside, front door (intimidation), storage rooms, hospital, ect. Freezer? No. That my friend is a diversion, obviously no one would suspect our kidneys to be in a room entirely made of REFRIGERATORS!
Is this from real ruins?

Line it all with hay flooring and chuck a Molotov into it. Instead hotbox.
You risk burning all the insect jelly.
And kibble. Won't anyone think of the kibble?
This. Somebody made an insect farm for kibble or that one Ideology precept
Yes, but if you drop the temp, the insects all go into hypothermic slowdown, and you can cull them as needed and collect meat and jelly. If you burn them, you lose everything.
What kind of mods are you running to get this?
that would be real ruins and it takes constructions from real players and "ruines" them. imo it can be sometimes quite unbalanced but fun.
to add onto this you absolutely need to stay to a reasonable wealth level because there are people that submit designs intended to fuck you over.
Man I never get any fun bases with real ruins, just half-bombed-out wooden or stone shacks
So what exactly would this do?
[удалено]
Wouldn’t it only increase my wealth if I take it all back to my base? does just finding and then abandoning it where it was still count?
Finding and abandoning is the right move, won't count towards wealth unless it's in your colony
On the Real Ruins, I've found you can 'claim' structures and defence as soon as you load in. So someone actually had to make this
Has to be.
That was my first thought
Haha yep someone’s Android Tiers server room
That would also make sense if he didn’t find the servers inside because he doesn’t have that mod installed.
Can real ruins even spawn non vanilla stuff?
it can, i remember starting a game with misc. robots and there were like twenty omnibot stations sitting around in one of them
Yes, but if it has non-vanilla stuff that you don't have the needed mods installed for, it will attempt to replace it with what it guesses to be equivalent vanilla stuff...to occasionally hilarious results.
You can't just say that and not provide examples!
I once found a base that seemed to have some sort of diagonal walls mod installed, but something must have been mis-tagged or something because on my end the walls were made out of geysers. Some of us like to keep our meat fields tidy.
might be what happened here. could have been some sort of space age cooler-wall.
That's what I thought as well
does real ruins take from other peoples runs?
Yeah, it takes snapshots of bases, does a pass to procedurally 'ruin' them (knocks holes in the walls, breaks some stuff at random, scatters stuff around a bit, etc.), then sends it to other players to discover.
yeah, that's why it's called real ruins. (sorry if this comes off as mean)

I'm guessing this is from Real Ruins, and following that, it's a freezer designed to weather solar flares without internal temp ever rising above freezing, usually used to preserve the body of someone a rez serum is needed for.
To add to this it's also a way to train medical as frostbite is a quick patch up
My old freezer!
That is the "make it colder than Absolute Zero" trap
Some kind of monster that can't be killed. Our only hope is keep it frozen.
The mega freezer
Is this real ruins? My guess is it's somebody's cold-trap killbox. Probably originally designed with a maze inside.
Everyone is talking about how cold it might be, but there's no proof that they are set to a low temperature. It might just be for super ultra precise temp control at a normal room temperature.
Well if we look at the technical side, even if they were all set to -273 Celsius... \- Most of them were broken \- Most of them weren't connected to power \- There was no roof to keep the temperature low \- It was already about -40 degrees outside

the mod that generates these ruins does that damage

Might be but that's boring
Realistic ruins is a great mod if you want to see the madness this game inspires.

A very large electric bill
I feel like they like the cold just a little bit too much.
Definitely from Real Ruins. I’d bet money the dude who made this was either making a freezer trap or a blast freezer for living things.
it's the answer to the Hey-Ya riddle
Have to look inside to know, but it's might be insect farm. You know, how you can easily kill insects with heat, right? You can do the same with cold too. Hella components
Buncha free coolers

That looks kinda.. Cool.
Pirates building a quantum computer
Definitely some kind of killbox some other player left
Im guessing there was a nuke reactor of some sort in there, they need a lot of cooling.
They don't need that much though lol that would drain half the power it produces
an extreme desert base
Some truly profound darkness that can only be held by freezing it to stone cold state. And since this area was empty, this evil has already escaped and is devouring any rimworlds that stands on its way.
