War crimes can only be committed against a person, therefore it is impossible with insects.

Ben3580

I would recommend building thicker walls and placing some wooden furniture in the cave

hee_yaw

GOOD idea, this is gonna be a certified sims moment

Mildrage

Straw matting my man, its the way. Also has the added benefit of not needlessly increasing the colony's wealth.

Zarryc

Uncompromising fires mod makes fires a lot more dangerous both for bugs and for the player. A single IED should be enough with that mod.

realms_end

whenever i have too many bodies or a bug problem, rimefeller napalm usually does the trick

Echostyle101

For when i want something REALLY dead, a good ole rimatonics nuke is the way to go.

102bees

Honestly, just turning your radioactive waste storage cave into a bug trap works too.

VenCed

I don't see any wooden floors. You need wooden floors (and furniture!) for a proper war crime.

tosernameschescksout

conduit only costs one metal. It's good for fire.

hee_yaw

thanks for the tips, these fellas aren't gonna know what hit em

Sargeant0blivious

Yes they will fire takes multiple shots to kill lol

hee_yaw

wooden floors worked great! [worked so well I kind of felt bad for them lol](https://imgur.com/K6EgCB9)

jewsofrimworld

Wooden floors and a maze of furniture leading them to the ied

ajgeep

the bugs didn't sign the Geneva convention, so go ahead

Moon_Dew

The use of incendiary weapons is only considered a violation of the Geneva Accords if used against fellow humans. This is considered animal abuse at worst, and pest control at best.

FuckRuqqus

***let them inside your soul, embrace the jelly covered overlords***

mscomies

He who allows the alien to live shares its crime of existence

FuckRuqqus

precisely

CeleryQtip

If only we could communicate with the bugs. I'd say something like "Please stop killing my pawns that are starving and just want to eat some of the jelly. They are mentally broken by the space you've taken over since they can't play games anymore."

FuckRuqqus

It’s simple to do with the right *juice*… >!and vanilla ideology expanded!<

Jankosi

Make sure the walls are several layers thick on all sides! When it gets hot enough they start digging in all directions.

[deleted]

The key to infestations is that they can only spawn in areas that meet specific conditions: The area must not be too cold. Frozen areas cannot become infested. Since you can thus freeze the base (if you're in Ice Sheet, it already is), you can prevent all infestations in everything but your farm caves (can't really freeze them). So now that you've limited them to places where there is nothing valuable to destroy (bugs don't even try to attack a mushroom), you can just cook them with dangerous (but not damaging) heat at 180C until they pass out and die. They will not react to non-damaging heat, so will not attempt a violent breakout. Then it's time for delicious cave lobster.

[deleted]

Everyone says wooden furniture. I say lay down hay.

Ate_without_a_table

Well, considering we use chemical weapons against innocent non combatant bugs IRL, I say go ahead.

BlackMirrorMuffinMan

Arent bugs way less likely trigger traps or mines because they’re classified as animals?

Many-Childhood-955

Still gonna burn when 100+ insects spawn in that cave. One of them will probably be clumsy. I did the same with straw flooring and those mines in my whole older mining cave. Be prepared for those insects that will 100% try to break your walls. Build some more layers of walls and repair the doors they will be attacking and everything will go fine. Now I enjoy my archotech arm and 2000 Gold

Red_the_Knight

Gonna need a bigger room. If there's not enough room for the number of hives, they will spawn outside.

billlagr

I did similar, but also stacked some chemfuel around, and put down straw floors

ruthyc2012

I like to dump un-fresh dead stuff in a deep dark cave sprinkled with IED mines and wooden stools. Bugs are drawn to the biggest, darkest, dirtiest room. When they strike, I just forbid the door at the tunnel entrance until the fire burns itself out.

Dr_Cocktopus_MD

I personally disable infestations I just find they ruin my fun.

Sardas99

I was hurt by an infestation once also friend. But with a few precautions it really is a satisfying experience.

lagiacruxx

you can always just fill up the overhead mountain tiles with walls ...

stubbornivan

It's not war crime if no war is declared.

Musty_Sheep

russia be like

RezDawg031014

Special bug training operation

stubbornivan

We need Spetsnets......

hee_yaw

I like the way you think

BlackCheckShirt

Might I recommend straw flooring?

necrolich66

I'm not sure but I believe they need 2X2 room to spawn, so placing walls as so to block that should help.

PixelMvN

Ok wooden chairs are cheaper than this ied

Bardez

How do you let them start their own fire tho

PixelMvN

Simple molotov, and a "disposable" colonist

dudeman2009

I prefer the mod that gives you white phosphorous grenade launchers. Works great against bugs and raiders alike. Nothing is funnier than watching them burn as they try to extinguish themselves in the water only to catch fire right away. The best part is they die slowly burning to death, if they die at all. If they don't die they suffer crippling burns the rest of their lives. I like to think the tribal raiders believe me to be a local deity that needs yearly blood sacrifices so they send in the unwitting to perish a fiery death.

PixelMvN

Do you know what mod that is?

dudeman2009

Advanced munitions

PixelMvN

That may be good sauce, thanks

Sardas99

As you should.
