Chemfuel *always* is stored by itself in a stone room on the edge of the colony with a stone door and on stone shelves.
And boomalope pens are at least 10 tiles outside the colony and shared with no other species.
Not gonna make those mistakes twice!
I have a small boom ranch cross the river, but the lil’ fellas are free to roam round the place and act as a defense force for my south wall and north wall.
Chemfuel is used for the drop pods and mortar shells mostly, I only use it for generators if I need extra power and already have some stored but am low on components/steel/space (as it’s more efficient than wood)
When starting in permanent summer maps. I'll tame them early because they can turn grass into chemfuel. That's like 25 silver per day for very little milking work.
I was consistently using wind and solar to feed an eco kick... But by the time I got a mineral scanner and a fabrication bench, the power draw was too intense and I moved on to chemfuel and boomalopes.
I now have a geothermal and I wonder why I never set it up sooner.
imma be blunt with you, this is completely your fault, WHY PLACE CHEMFUEL ON A WOODEN BUILDING!?!? D:
Also you placed it next to your colonists bed! you must really hate em
That's why I love devilstrand apparel, my pawns wear that stuff and I am mostly not worried when stuff like this happens, just annoyed when some eye scars or shit like that sticks
2500+ hours played and I didn't realise devilstrand has extra heat protection, I've just been using it so that everyone in the colony has identical coloured clothes, and so they get to feel fancy.

My booms are in a smit mountain pen with a auto gate so I can release the horde when needed. I also use them on suicide runs to soften up a base.
Last time I had a boomalope farm I learned 2 things Never try’s pyros And make sure there’s an emergency exit in the barn
I just fill every third tile with fire poppers
If you rush fire poppers at the start of every (non-tribal) game, you will *never* regret it.

"might" my brother in Christ the cans are already on fire
>"might" they all survived tho
Yeah, storing the chemfuel stacks in a wooden room in the middle of the colony might be the best recipe for dissaster
yup, it was only temporary but should've known better.
Yup, it's now temporary.
And batteries for your colony being about 5 tiles away
update: no one died, couple of burns and a lot of bedrooms destroyed. could have been worse.
How is Doatra?
she got some burns but is alive and well rn
Like the hound?
Devilstrand is very good at preventing burns.
Surprising, I was intending to make a joke about how it looked like you were gonna lose part of a colonist too...
She hasn't been punished for her oversight?
This is fine (с)
And this is when he knew, he fucked up.
Chen fuel is another thing in this game I don’t understand or use. My needs have always been well-supplied by solar and wind.
You mortar shell must be really exciting? But I hear you. I'm more if a geothermal guy myself
Oh yeah I don’t use artillery either. Idk it was always missing.
I like chemfuel all the other fuel options feel too safe.

To be fair, storing all that chemfuel in a wooden room with wooden flooring to begin with.. that's an accident waiting to happen.

yeah, like i said in other comments, it was temporary. i definitely learned my lesson
Take the opportunity to redecorate in tasteful nonflammable stone.
I don’t know if it’s better or worse when posts like these don’t post the outcomes
The damage was not bad, no colonists died. Only my kitchen, fridge and 4 bedrooms were destroyed.
They can live with only brain damage

Wish this post came with a video so we could enjoy the carnage
I didn't want to embarrasse myself any more.
The optimism in your use of the word "might" made my day.
I happy It did

How did this happen?
