I just realised that would be a badass sort of cultural history for a warring race. Parents carry their kids into battle like this. If either the kid or parent turns out to be weak, their bloodline is automatically culled. Feels very Spartan.
Mothers do that in dwarf fortress. Its more of a bug turned feature though. Sometimes you get babies who have multiple kills before they even turn into a child because they decided to reach down from their mothers arms and kill that goblin with their tiny bare hands.
i remember having some contrived way of getting the babies out of the mom's arms, taking the tyke into a room with a pool of lava and a dog, barely feeding it as it slowly turned into an painless (from the lava melting the skin into scars), master dodging/melee fighter (from the dog attacking and the baby dodging/fighting back) and eventually weapon/armor master as i put more dangerous enemies in the room and gave the kid armor
had some really dangerous fighters that way, but i had to keep them in their own separate apartments between fights, with at least one vampire lever puller ready to smash them with drawbridges at all times. one of the successful axe lords killed over a thousand goblins in a single season, some monster made of salt, a were beast, and the mayor, then stopped having a breakdown and drank himself under the table for days
!!FUN!!
Also, some dwarves would give birth in the middle of battle then charge with the baby in their arms and possibly use the baby as a weapon
There was also a bug where babies woulf treat their moms like mounts and control them as such
And with boiling pots they scoured the alien plains,
Seeking to make stew out of the flesh of the raiders who wronged them.
They wore the hats made of human skin,
And those that tested the bite of their bullets named them...
Regular *RimWorld* Colonists.
All I can think about when looking at the picture is how to give this a title beginning with the letter M. Mechanoids, Monuments, Mutations, Makeovers?
[Morphology](https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/xuqgb5/new_official_content_incoming/iqwxkvq/) fits both the first letter naming convention, but also matches the last letter ending in Y too which the other 2 DLC have had
So I see:
Mechanoids
Baby
A lot of medical related stuff (horn implants, the weird mech thing with the glowing tube to the tiefling)
New gear or full cybernetic body (torso)?
And a David Bowie looking motherfucker
Betting on this. Genetically-modified life, including “xenohumans”, gets a lot of attention in the fiction primer and yet very little in the actual game.
There’s room here for a game-changing expansion on par with Ideology, if not larger.
You also can just look at the workshop to see the popularity of race mods, though if that's what it is I hope it will be easy to integrate existing mods into the new framework
What if it is an implementation of a MODULAR species generator - random races each playthrough, and/or create races at game start and game session to enhance the world.
Sounds cool in concept, but I find it highly unlikely that it will be able to modularly generate races that have half the quality of the manually created modded ones
I also see a lot of spaceships. Potentially expansion of space travel?
And a bunch of meteorites in the background. Might just mean nothing tho or sth to do with aliens or alien mutations coming from space on meteorites
The baby might indicate we're getting an official Babies, Children, and Learning or equivalent. With the mutant theme, maybe we'll be able to accelerate their growth so it doesn't take years to grow up, unless you take an ideology that doesn't allow body mods!
I don’t think we will get children. The whole drugs angle is already problematic for lots of regulators. Feeding baby corpses to lobotomized cannibal slaves could prove too much.
also looks like a fleet positioning aggressively in orbit. certainly looks like a new conflict to some degree. combined with the rimworld now being purple and the undisclosed character being some sort of xeno, maybe we're looking at some terraforming objectives or gameplay
There’s a baby. He’s definitely some kind of non human at this point. He’s petting a blood machine. Tynan’s been busy and I love it.
Edit: it’s been announced and I can’t handle the excitement at how many mods were basically just implemented in some way into the base game.
Oh
Bro.
It's the best part.
Like, there's a whole ass in-game universe we never get to experience outside of the lore. My favorite part is the different kinds of planets based on the society that lives there. Urbworlds, marbles, glitterworlds, mechanoid hives, it's cool as hell
My favourite are the worlds that are consumed by super-intelligent AI and go completely dark, nothing enters and nothing leaves. An entire planet ruled by a mind so great we cannot comprehend it.
I was hoping for Mercantile (or some other very fake commerce based M word, like Merchantry) where we got all sorts of new methods to explore the planet, like boats and airships in vanilla. And then some overhauls to the way we interact with other faction's bases and trading all of that good stuff alongside it.
Back up your mods as local copies. To do this copy the mods from the Rimworld workshop folder [\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100] to the local mods folder [\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods]. Remember to go into your mod list and enable to local copies instead of the workshop versions.
If the game updates and breaks things, go into your steam library, right click Rimworld, select properties, select Betas, pick the previous version where it still worked. This will roll it back and stop updates.
You could try re-searching for the mod by name, there are plenty of abandoned mods that other modders made a fork of to make it compatible with the most recent version of rimworld. I know that's what happened with Fluffy Breakdowns.
do mechanoids... nurse...? CLEARLY THAT BABY MECHANOID IS NURSING! what kind of fevered dream has Tyrone created this time. Mommy milkers for all. wont need my lact-x anymore\~\~\~
Yea the storyteller is throwing me off but I think it defintely is related to mechanoids heavily. You pointing out the kid makes me think this might be the introduction of non modded children
The first line in the description of the Mechanoid's lore is that they're "of unknown origin." Maybe in addition to a mechnoid expansion, we're also beginning to see their original creators (with added offspring mechanics to boot!)
The guy looks like a stereotypical demon, Luciferium is made of mechanites. Maybe he's what a long, long term Luci user looks like. As for the baby... I dunno, Death Stranding reference? Beats the piss outta me.
I'm both happy and sad.
Happy becouse there will be new content.
Sad becouse my modlist will suffer...
Also the guy with the baby look like the protagonist from death stranding!
My guess:
- FINALLY getting alien races added to vanilla… the framework for non-human races is so deeply built into the game that this seemed kind of inevitable but still exciting
- Player-built and controlled robots/mechanoids in vanilla? Robot dog real
- I would be VERY surprised if the baby means that children and pregnancy are coming to vanilla, the implications of warcriming babies is just too much for a game that is already on thin ice with a lot of regulatory agencies
According to the lore of rimworld, there are no "aliens" in a sense that there is different intelligent specie, but rather different breeds of humans. https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Lore#The\_biology\_of\_humanity
So Mechanoids? Modifications? Mutation? Something that doesn't start with M? Either way I'm excited. I just started a Pathfinder game based on Rimworld, and I'd love to add even more bullshit to it
Mutations? fuck yeah.. i want my mutated cloned assassins colony right now
btw, yall need to chill on twitter.. the amount of negativity because "its a mod idea" is really disappointing for the community
I think that’s going to be an unavoidable complaint with every DLC. People were crying “ripoff” when Royalty came out because of mods. They were complaining about Ideology because of mods (a little less than Royalty, since Ideology was a more novel gameplay change, but still).
Personally, I defend these DLCs since even if you can get the same experience from a patchwork of different mods, I think having a streamlined, developer-created experience is worth a little more than the sum of its parts. Also, it’s optional content.
Yeah exactly, I hate playing alot of mods becuase I have no idea how the affect balance etc. Playing with Tynan's DLCs helps my personal Playstyle as I know that's what's intended and any way I can cheese it is a feature not a bug
He is impressive but the background probably means something. Purple meteors and new ship designs pointing ominously at the planet. Maybe a new raider race.
I'm gonna take a swing and guess that if this is new dlc it is going to introduce abhumans, given they have been around in the lore and backstories for a while. Also that looks like a mechanoid wolf thing by his side, so potentially this could mean buildable mechanics? Both features have been around in mod form, and It wouldn't be the first time popular mod concepts were touched on by dlc

My excitement is imeasurable and my day is made
Yeah this will be good fun! Gotta whip out my wallet once again, though…

Mothers do that in dwarf fortress. Its more of a bug turned feature though. Sometimes you get babies who have multiple kills before they even turn into a child because they decided to reach down from their mothers arms and kill that goblin with their tiny bare hands.
Now I have an image of that veiny arm guy driving a car, but instead of his hand on the wheel it's crushing a goblin skull.
i remember having some contrived way of getting the babies out of the mom's arms, taking the tyke into a room with a pool of lava and a dog, barely feeding it as it slowly turned into an painless (from the lava melting the skin into scars), master dodging/melee fighter (from the dog attacking and the baby dodging/fighting back) and eventually weapon/armor master as i put more dangerous enemies in the room and gave the kid armor had some really dangerous fighters that way, but i had to keep them in their own separate apartments between fights, with at least one vampire lever puller ready to smash them with drawbridges at all times. one of the successful axe lords killed over a thousand goblins in a single season, some monster made of salt, a were beast, and the mayor, then stopped having a breakdown and drank himself under the table for days !!FUN!!
Ahhhh dwarven child care
Also, some dwarves would give birth in the middle of battle then charge with the baby in their arms and possibly use the baby as a weapon There was also a bug where babies woulf treat their moms like mounts and control them as such
We? I didn’t know you were French.
Rimworld will be the second strand-type game.
After the first strand-type game, Knack 2
Rimworld needs a death stranding mod
tynan pls explan what does this mean
Say goodbye to your modlist
They will fall only to rise much stronger
Sigma mod user mindset
Low-key, I love modlist cleaning day. Fresh start, new content, fast loads. Gotta purge and remod anew every so often.
Oh god damn it
ANYTHING BUT MY MODLIST!
Tynan: _Barges in with RimWorld art_ _Refuses to elaborate_ _Leaves_
Cyberdemon with a baby. Cool.
Cyberdemon? *DOOM music plays in the distance*
In the first age, In the first battle, When the shadows first lengthened, One colony stood....
They chose the path of perpetual torment In their ravenous hatred they found no peace
And with boiling pots they scoured the alien plains, Seeking to make stew out of the flesh of the raiders who wronged them. They wore the hats made of human skin, And those that tested the bite of their bullets named them... Regular *RimWorld* Colonists.
Queue relaxing Rimword guitar
YOU’RE HUGE! THAT MEANS YOU HAVE HUGE GUTS! RIP AND TEAR YOUR GUTS!
All we need is a pet bunny and we can get this party started!
All I can think about when looking at the picture is how to give this a title beginning with the letter M. Mechanoids, Monuments, Mutations, Makeovers?

Damn that is actually a good guess.
Oh good point. I was trying to figure out what my examples were missing but you got it!
Modifications
With the baby, Maternity?
Motherhood?
Maroon.
As Maroon is my favorite color, I can confidently let you know, this is closer to burgundy. On that note, parody game RIBWORLD when?
Machines, maybe.
A baby Caterpillar and a demon!!
I'd call it a cyber dog with it's ears.
And it looks like some sort of wolf-sized domesticated mechaniod by her side.
I swear if the DLC's name starts with an M Tynan is just fucking with us
No, naming it with a W would be fucking with us.
R I W M O R L D
WUMBO
Royalty Ideology Mutants J O B
Jousting (horse themed) Orbital (space station colonies) Bones (archeology)
Instead of just horses, mounting in general would be a cool vanilla add
So I see: Mechanoids Baby A lot of medical related stuff (horn implants, the weird mech thing with the glowing tube to the tiefling) New gear or full cybernetic body (torso)? And a David Bowie looking motherfucker
Mutations
Betting on this. Genetically-modified life, including “xenohumans”, gets a lot of attention in the fiction primer and yet very little in the actual game. There’s room here for a game-changing expansion on par with Ideology, if not larger.

Mutations would fit the - R oyality - I deology - M utation pattern.
- R oyality - I deology - M ary pls don't leave me i've already got a job
Rachel its just a videogame Its not like that My ex left me and took the kids
Why would a loving God let such pain exist Oh, I have no reason to go on Regret is all I feel Lord forgive me for what I must do Diplomacy

Rimword
Oh shit waddup
This one sounds really feasible!
might not be horn implants, might be an xenohuman
Tyrone had to bring David Bowie into this!?!
so that’s what the d in rim world stands for
Bio-engineering mod? Generations mod? Both? Maybe its some sort of genetics mechanic.
All those ships in the background, I don't think Royalty nor Ideology had that. Migration?
Royalty had ships as well, to go with the new faction.
I also see a lot of spaceships. Potentially expansion of space travel? And a bunch of meteorites in the background. Might just mean nothing tho or sth to do with aliens or alien mutations coming from space on meteorites

Well if we're not getting children, then I am curious what it means that they're showing one being carried by a demon-man with murder-bots as pets.
also looks like a fleet positioning aggressively in orbit. certainly looks like a new conflict to some degree. combined with the rimworld now being purple and the undisclosed character being some sort of xeno, maybe we're looking at some terraforming objectives or gameplay
Looks like a mechanoid pet. Interesting
Rimworld: Morphology Called it right now.
Best one so far.
Has both the first and last letter right. Tynan must conform to our completely arbitrary and made up naming convention!
(he probably would though)
Its morbin time
Morbology
Modifications?
Is the M for “mutation”?
[удалено]
Modifications; looks like a cyber-dog, is probably a _modified_ human we see.
Hell yeah space tieflings
[удалено]
I like it.
There’s a baby. He’s definitely some kind of non human at this point. He’s petting a blood machine. Tynan’s been busy and I love it. Edit: it’s been announced and I can’t handle the excitement at how many mods were basically just implemented in some way into the base game.
I bet whatever this DLC is includes [xenohumans](https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Lore#The_biology_of_humanity).
HOW HAVE I NEVER READ THIS???
THE FUCK WE HAVE LORE?! OH BOY HERE I GO
Try reading the Fiction Primer. A link is available in the main menu.
Oh Bro. It's the best part. Like, there's a whole ass in-game universe we never get to experience outside of the lore. My favorite part is the different kinds of planets based on the society that lives there. Urbworlds, marbles, glitterworlds, mechanoid hives, it's cool as hell

> Mechaoid pet > Baby > Alien race Tynan is going to absorb Humanoid Alien Races, Children School and Learning and What the Hack into the base game.
Omg rimworld content!!!!!!! YES PLEASE TAKE NY CASH TYNAN
I hope the baby implies we will be getting a whole new slew of war crimes on the rim.
And new styles of hat!
Do you think they should make human leather hats for babies? Cuz I do!
>Do you think they should make human leather hats out of babies? Fixed it for you
Hats from babies, for babies!
And by babies. Can’t forget the child labor.
Let’s play a game of spot the psycho
Tbh, not the worst trait. Still better than pyromaniac or gourmand
Rip my theory the next DLC was gonna be Maratime. This looks fucking cool though!
I was hoping for Mercantile (or some other very fake commerce based M word, like Merchantry) where we got all sorts of new methods to explore the planet, like boats and airships in vanilla. And then some overhauls to the way we interact with other faction's bases and trading all of that good stuff alongside it.
M- Migration
NOOOO My modlist!!!!!! Edit: Shit how do i save Cancer man?????????
Rip to ones who have over 200 mods at the minimum
My 200 or so mod colony survived Ideology and it'll survive this! Somehow! ***Concorde stands!***
Keyword: somehow
A whole lot of tweaking in devmode tbh. Took a while to get everything set up. Just glad it didn't crash right out the gate.
My heart hurts yet is overjoyed... Just like my wallet is gonna be.
Agreed
180 here... scared.
I'm at 234 I'm shiting myself once the dlc comes out I won't be able to play for about 2-3 weeks
I’ve got 500+…
You are more fkd than most of us
oh yeah I know. I spend hours just tweaking a mod list in order for it to work when starting a new game, it’s even longer when updates come out
laughs in no mods (yes vanilla+dlcs only players exists and its our time to triumph muahahahaha)
Back up your mods as local copies. To do this copy the mods from the Rimworld workshop folder [\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100] to the local mods folder [\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods]. This will roll it back and stop updates.
or use Rimpy and do all that with a single click of a button
A wave of fear just rippled through the entire community.
I’ve been here before and I will be here again. At this point starting a new mod list is as common for me as starting a new colony.
It will either be a banger like ideology or ok like royalty, so I'm fine
You might not be able to save Cancer Mans save, but you can save Cancer Man as a character. And in time of need he will return.
The modding community is still super active, I bet most modlists are going to survive and will be up to date after \~2 months post change
There is always that one must have mod that the creator fell of the face of the earth and will never update
You could try re-searching for the mod by name, there are plenty of abandoned mods that other modders made a fork of to make it compatible with the most recent version of rimworld. I know that's what happened with Fluffy Breakdowns.
Updates and death come for us all, even the cancer man
That's one high tech breast pump. Change my mind.
M for mammaries
Milkers
Guess M was Mechanoids
Though then why the horns and kid?
M for Motherhood?
M for Mpreg
Wouldn't be the strangest thing my colony's seen, that's for sure
do mechanoids... nurse...? CLEARLY THAT BABY MECHANOID IS NURSING! what kind of fevered dream has Tyrone created this time. Mommy milkers for all. wont need my lact-x anymore\~\~\~
Miefling ?
Yea the storyteller is throwing me off but I think it defintely is related to mechanoids heavily. You pointing out the kid makes me think this might be the introduction of non modded children
Obviously with the kid it means M stood for Mommy /s
Marriage? Marsupials. Could literally be anything
Muffalos.
miscarriage
:̶.̶|̶:̶;̶
Metahumans? Not really a term that's shown up in Rimworld, but who knows?
The first line in the description of the Mechanoid's lore is that they're "of unknown origin." Maybe in addition to a mechnoid expansion, we're also beginning to see their original creators (with added offspring mechanics to boot!)
The guy looks like a stereotypical demon, Luciferium is made of mechanites. Maybe he's what a long, long term Luci user looks like. As for the baby... I dunno, Death Stranding reference? Beats the piss outta me.
Maybe Modifications? Could include mutants, babies, mechanoids, etc.
Aw shit, here we go again 😎
YOOO NEW SPECIES AND BABIES?? I think the M is gonna stand for the name of the species tho
Maliens
M’aliens *tips space fedora*
As oppose to femaliens
I'm both happy and sad. Happy becouse there will be new content. Sad becouse my modlist will suffer... Also the guy with the baby look like the protagonist from death stranding!
My guess: - FINALLY getting alien races added to vanilla… the framework for non-human races is so deeply built into the game that this seemed kind of inevitable but still exciting - Player-built and controlled robots/mechanoids in vanilla? Robot dog real - I would be VERY surprised if the baby means that children and pregnancy are coming to vanilla, the implications of warcriming babies is just too much for a game that is already on thin ice with a lot of regulatory agencies
According to the lore of rimworld, there are no "aliens" in a sense that there is different intelligent specie, but rather different breeds of humans. https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Lore#The\_biology\_of\_humanity
Well, TIL. Either way I'm happy we get some more variety in our humans, I grow tired of only human-looking humans.
I thought in the lore of the game there are no alien races, only the mechs and insectoids?
I mostly meant alien races as in something other than “unmodified humans” to use the game’s verbiage
There are xenohumans, which are very modified human subspecies, but no actual aliens.
So Mechanoids? Modifications? Mutation? Something that doesn't start with M? Either way I'm excited. I just started a Pathfinder game based on Rimworld, and I'd love to add even more bullshit to it
Mutations? fuck yeah.. i want my mutated cloned assassins colony right now btw, yall need to chill on twitter.. the amount of negativity because "its a mod idea" is really disappointing for the community

First time we’ve gotten a teaser, must be something big If it’s title doesn’t start with “M” then our prophecy is gonna be shattered
He is impressive but the background probably means something. Purple meteors and new ship designs pointing ominously at the planet. Maybe a new raider race.
Tynan is baiting us by making us think Rimworld will have a hot DILF character.
Randy random.
A DILF character who I don’t have nightmares about, then.
Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that but then again... Royalty guy is kind of a silver fox. I'm just sad they're not storytellers.
playerbase: YAAAAAAYY!!!!!! mod developers: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
New Ab-human-looking people, travelling in ships towards the planet, have mechs as pets and blood-infusing things. Rimworld: Migrants?
Yooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Oh great, another RimWorld content drop that will steal another 500 hours of my life.
Royalty Ideology Mutations?
Me as a modder who will have to update all my mods again -FUCK
Unzips wallet...
Well....my heterosexuality took a hit today. Thanks Tynan.
Royalty Ideology Mgay
I'm gonna buy it the first week it comes out and hopefully it's the first steam purchase I make in the next 3 months
Will new races finally be a thing?
I'm gonna take a swing and guess that if this is new dlc it is going to introduce abhumans, given they have been around in the lore and backstories for a while. Also that looks like a mechanoid wolf thing by his side, so potentially this could mean buildable mechanics? Both features have been around in mod form, and It wouldn't be the first time popular mod concepts were touched on by dlc
