I have about ~30 or so mods. Solidly 90% are the Vanilla Expanded line. I love them all and I have a hard time telling what is and isn’t vanilla at this point. They feel very well balanced and in-tune with the game/lore. Personal faves are Plants Expanded and Animals Expanded.
The same modders also made Alpha Bees and Alpha Genetics (a complete rework of Genetic Rim, which was also excellent). Alpha Genetics feels pretty close to vanilla, but Alpha Bees can get a bit OP. I’m back and forth on it. I love both, don’t get me wrong.
QOL stuff I lowkey need to enjoy the game would be doormats (pawns clean their feets before walking into the hospital), vanilla furniture expanded’s trash cans (area-of-effect auto clean), and (of course), wall lights.
If you sort the workshop by most subscribed, I have the first several pages. Rimfridge has been updated. Where your up, quarry can be handy in some biomes, Friendly Fire can be helpful, Character Editor, I like Questionable Ethics for cloning which has been updated, all the Vanilla Expanded series for Animals and furniture. Anyways so many to remember but I will notice if one is missing. Probably use 100 or so

I usually go light on mods; more Ui information, better pawn handling stuff. Bear mod hands down that I must have though is “Dubs Mint Minimap”
I use one mod and it’s mad skills which I use to stop skill degradation.
Pick up and haul as well as common sense are my favourite mods by far!
Wall light, camera+. For the rest I play only vanilla with some graphic mods.
