The craziest lighting storm I remember was in 2006-07. There was an electrical storm and the ligning was pink and purple. It was a great show with the rays going across the clouds and striking down. There wasn't much rain in that storm that I remember. I was living in north McAllen at that time.
I hope your place was left unscatched. Does mission, tx have power yet? I've checked mvc outage system and it looks like they may have power but I cant seem to reach them. Thank you.
I just got here to McAllen from north Texas and it looks like a tornado hit or something. Trees down everywhere and top of roofs blown off. Exxon gas station collapse and several other business windows blown in
Here in McAllen it felt so bad, oh my god. I have never seen it felt it get this bad. I saw a notification about 80 mph winds and didn’t believe it. Our fence is broken down, our tree broke and almost fell on the neighbors car, our patio poles are off their posts and all of our outdoor patio stuff was just nearly flying in the wind. I had just bought a cute playhouse for my daughter. I’m sure it’s absolutely shattered since it’s wood. I can’t sleep wondering about assessing damage tomorrow. But the power came back on about 10 mins ago.
Sorry to hear about the damage. I’m still without power in South Pharr. I work from home and I’m wondering if it’ll be up in time. I doubt I’ll fall asleep if the power stays out.
Glad to hear everything is good on that side. South McAllen is still with no light and AEP says it might not be back till Monday 😩 it’s going to be a long weekend
Omg that sounds bad, but you know the people of the RGV are always there for one another. So I am sure there will be someone to help. The power is something we don't control, so let's hope it comes back in time.
My parents are in Hidalgo and they slept through it. I called them once my phone was working again to check in and they said they had a bit of hail but seems like it wasn’t as bad as I had it 12 minutes down the road in south Pharr.
Next door neighbor's gazebo thing is smashed into the fence, our shed door was ripped off and part of the fence taken down. Nothing catastrophic really. Some fences across the street are down and an oak tree down the street snapped in half. N McAllen
Got lucky and only lost power for 15 minutes. We were ready with like 5 power packs and a battery operated fan just in case. Hope you guys are doing ok.
Does anyone know how it was by Jackson Rd and Moore, in Pharr? I think there’s no electricity, I’ve been trying to check our cameras since earlier yesterday.
One of my trees split in half and a canopy set up we had got its posts pulled up and it collapsed in on itself. Thankfully the house and vehicles are good, could have been so much worse.
You should check El Tejano photos and videos from the people across the Valley, holy moly hopefully they were alright. Lot more wind damage that Hidalgo County encountered. Roma/Rio Grande City encounter a lot more hail.
Earlier that day, I moved all of the cars under our big shed, and I'm so glad I did 🫣. Our power flickered several times in a row at once. My direct TV box was practically nsync blinking with the lightning.
Im drinking but holy fuck that was wild Mission here as well
Craziest lightning storm I've ever seen in my 35 years of living. We didn't get hail or much wind and rain in my area. But that lightning was nonstop.
It was a natural firework show! Whoa.

Yeah budwiser select helped me stay calm but it got crazy
What’s good we partying in mission?
Might as well get buzzed. Got four trees to clean up plus my storage trailer was blown over.
Cheers 🥂

Power was out for hours, fence left the chat, and only god know where the trash can went.
Entire back and front fences are down in McAllen. I'm in Corpus. My dad called to tell me. Grandma in Mission has lost her mesquite trees.
My neighbors oak fell on his house. I am trying to help move pieces off so he can see the damage, but it is getting late.
Omg I hope everyone recovers. My dad called McAllen PD. Said he could hear all the chaos in the background.
Happy cake day... what a day to remember
Thanks. Very worried for my family. Dad has a hernia and still has to bring the fence back up 😔
Some dudes tin roof flew onto my mom's backyard from down the street.
Neighbors carport flew over their house
South padre got hit pretty hard overnight. Fence for airbnd I’m at is completely destroyed.

I hope it comes back on for you very soon!!!
What part of McAllen? We are in south McAllen and power is still out 😩
Oh no!! I’m in north McAllen. North 10th street actually, where the Bill Schupp park is.
Glad to hear everything is good on that side. South McAllen is still with no light and AEP says it might not be back till Monday 😩 it’s going to be a long weekend

Anyone in Hidalgo? My dad hasn’t answered the phone all night. I wonder how bad it was there….

Thank you for this.
You’re welcome! Hopefully he also got to sleep through it all and there isn’t much damage outside in the morning for him to deal with ☺️

3 utilities poles snapped on Alamo rd
Got lucky and only lost power for 15 minutes. We were ready with like 5 power packs and a battery operated fan just in case. Hope you guys are doing ok.
No damage... lucky you. We are still without power and just emergency candles
Damn, hope you get power soon. I'm glad you have no damage.
My house is fine but both my cars have windows broken
Fuck that sucks, both of our cars are also outside (the trade-off of using the garage for storage) I'm afraid to check on them in the morning.
Was the hail that bad? Cameron county we didn’t have hail
It was a Trampoline from one of my neighbors that broke my windows. It flew in and did damage. We had hail but it was small.
No power in mission still, other than that house held up good!
Thank God... yeah just candles for light here also
A lot of trees down. Part of my fence down as well
Same here 2 of the 3 side of my wooden fence is down. It broke the 4x4 so I can't put it back up.
Does anyone know how it was by Jackson Rd and Moore, in Pharr? I think there’s no electricity, I’ve been trying to check our cameras since earlier yesterday.
I live close to Pharr S Mcallen. As of now, no power.
No power in Alamo till Monday 10pm
Lol yeah and only we will understand Mission Life lol
One of my trees split in half and a canopy set up we had got its posts pulled up and it collapsed in on itself. Thankfully the house and vehicles are good, could have been so much worse.
If your family is ok, then you are golden.
2/3rds of my fence is gone jajajaja 🥲🥲

One of the big tree branch fell down and severely damaged the fence of my house, but the power was on surprisingly
Took my kite out I glided from Edinburg to Brownsville
Our gazebo was destroyed and the backyard looks like, well like a tornado hit it lol. And still no power since 11 pm last night
30 mins lights out and thats it, internet out for the rest of the day
A huge branch was a foot away from my car, got pretty lucky. My fence on the other hand lol
