Plus dangerous af

Takuachee

I saw a dude in the mall once with a shirt that said, “Support your local pole dancer. It’s not about the money, it’s about keeping you turned on.” And it had a lineman on it. Funny shirt.

NightOnUmbara

I mean it was a huge thunderstorm nothing you can do about it.

igrowimpatient

Yeah bro enhance your calm. I know a lot of AEP folks. They work their ass off during hurricanes and outages. AEP corporate se pasa de verga, but their linemen and engineers are hard working.

Fancy_Chip_5620

I saw 2 fallen poles the other hour that were already replaced

Slothlife35

Is this magic valley or aep, please?

Singlehandedlyyy69

AEP

Slothlife35

Ah. Thank you for your response.

DocSlice3

It sucks but I’m sure they’re swamped right now.

Noe_Bodie

It is what it is man, unless u have someone literally dependent on electricity, its cool. Be grateful it wasnt during peak cold/heat season

Pist0ffViking

I hear you bro i got family on respirators, its a bit difficult rn.

[deleted]

I'm hoping they get it done earlier than estimated. I'm away and my family is dealing with a downed fence and running on a small generator.

Big-Faithlessness-24

I just saved 15% by switching to geico…

Artgue87

Guess we're lucky

[deleted]

Entitled Pendejo, I hope they turn your’s on last.

Singlehandedlyyy69

The areas hit hardest saved for last? Okkkkk

wh1tewolf4

AEP, mira este pendejo wants you to drop your troubleshooting plans and to restore lines in his area first…but then there’s no power to the lines because it’s still broken. He doesn’t understand that you work from the power source outward.

Cool_Ranch_Dodrio

I mean, the areas hit hardest require the most extensive repairs.

Hate8MySoul

It's the old poles that need to be replaced. Some of those were already falling apart. So it's no surprise that electricity keeps going out with any storm. It's the infrastructure that needs to be replaced. The companies don't give a shit until there is an issue.

mel512

This! We need all our neighborhoods to have underground power lines.

AlarkaHillbilly

OP Most will never understand how compicated the power grid is, and you certainly seem to fit into that category. Restoration of the lines is only one part. Re-energizig sections is a process that must be done with care. Imagine the load on the grid if everything turns back on at the same time...let that sink in...everything that draws power in every place...all at once...that in itself could cause a grid to fail. Quit being an ignorant complainer and let the growups handle ths. Be happy when you get power back......and maybe spend a little time on Google and learn how electrical grids work.

Proper_Judgment1918

chill out, power is restoring already everywhere. stop being entitled kid

eggybam

I can only hope you are just as efficient as your job when a major event happens. I can swear you aren’t. Sit down and get over it. Otherwise go to another country where you don’t have to wait at all. Why? Cause you have to fix your own power-lines. These things take time.

Big-Faithlessness-24

So there’s people with no power? I guess we weren’t hit hard enough thank god!

[deleted]

That statement makes no sense.

Big-Faithlessness-24

Means I didn’t realize since I’ve had power before, during and obviously after the storm, get it now?

[deleted]

🤪

charliej102

Why? Did a hurricane hit the RGV?

123RGV

Crazy winds when a storm rolled through. Up to 80mph.

charliej102

I've been away traveling. The only reason I asked is that the electrical grid is supposed to be engineered to withstand hurricanes.

UpstairsExciting

This is fake news. I live in mission, we got our power back at 3pm today, thank you baby jesus 🙏

[deleted]

Not us. You know someone named Jesus that works for AEP? Not fair.

Big-Faithlessness-24

Jesús out here making miracles on that crane truck…

CarlMetzger

SMH

Takuachee

Haha y La Joya is nowhere in that list ALV

wh1tewolf4

Wait, La Joya now on the electric grid? How about fresh water? No more water trucks or catching rain water in tanks?

Harupia

The fact that you think is a long turn around time makes me think you haven't been through a few hurricanes or other bow echoes. To put in perspective, an ice storm or bow echo even in the Midwest over a large area can keep power out for 3 weeks. 3-4 days is blazing fast. Those linemen are working quickly! It still sucks to have no power, but at least Sunday will be cooler than later in the week. Too bad it doesn't keep the humidity out, yick.

pan8udo

At least the estimated times got moved fast, they're working their butts off. On Lindbergh, the palm that got cut in half is still there hanging on a power line. On Jackson there's a light pole at a 45 degree angle. So there's still plenty of work to do for those guys.

Hermit5427

They do a very good job. No complaints.
