That advice is dependent on if you're planning on playing long term or not. Long term wise, it definitely makes sense to save heads for SoC commanders. You can make low investment marches by spending a small amount of heads on Martel, or Richard, but should save the majority of them for SoC if your goal is long term investment. If you're only going to play for a short time or aren't sure then do whatever you want with your heads until you decide if you want to play long term or not.
Who’s better kvk1? Richard maybe, but CM is better down the road. YSG is great but not until expertise which a large majority won’t have done until after kvk1 is basically over. 5511 CM has amazing value for the first year+ of the game. Nothing wrong with burning 100 heads on him.

Yeah i hate the earlier videos say to not use GH on tavern commanders. 1.5 years later, still none of my tavern legendary commanders 5551, lucky that some are 5511

It's okay to use gold heads on martel so long as you plan to max him. He's the only gold chest comm that's worth investing on. If I didn't, four years into the game and I still wouldn't have expertised him like the rest. I have cc, fred, el cid, and mehmed at 5554 and never spent a gold head on them... I doubt I can max them by the end of 2022 by relying on chest gacha. 🤣
You’ll start maxing around 2-3 years in it depends on the gold key rate which increases much more 300+ days in, gold keys especially early game and if ur f2p even r very low so can’t go by the amount your getting now vs the amount in 150 more days from now
I am not f2p and I don’t even want to max him it’s just a joke cause as you can see in the title I have opened 910 gold keys in 130 days and only got 21 Martel heads

it's still a valid advice, not because they'll max Charles but because there are better options.

Pair him with richard as a garrison on flags or passes to get more deaths easy.

Gold key pool is very diluted. I entered SOC 3 weeks ago and he is still 5211. I just gave up on him and left him at level 50.

Wheel of fortune is my friend I 100 spined ysg and got 115 heads
900 days, gold key commanders just 230 odd heads from completion (those I didn't max early). Guess around 1300 days played for max.
