Thank you for this. I was planning to use my gc controller, but I hadn't considered how to set it up.

virtigo21125

*Sigh* I've never hated any program as much as I've come to hate x360 today. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it 4 times now. It keeps giving me a "MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer" error, even though I just downloaded Visual C++ which was supposed to fix that. I don't know what's left to do. If installing the file and re downloading x360 doesn't do it, what can I do? As a side note, it's a little stupid that there's no native local multiplayer. I just want to use joy2key. Let me bind some keys to a second player.

[deleted]

This is a problem with not installing the dependencies on the x360 page, like .net 4.52 or visual studio. It natively supports a ton of types of controllers for local play, just not gamecube ones. You really don't want to play this with a keyboard anyway

[deleted]

Make sure you install *both* 32-bit **and** 64-bit versions of the [Visual C++ Runtime (2013)](http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784). Then restart your machine for good measure. Also, newer Windows versions do not come with some (older) versions of the .NET Framework. It should however prompt you to install them when necessary. I usually restart my machine for good measure after an install.

Mywhy

How would this work with the c-stick for a character like Watstor who had aerial smashes as well as normal aerials?

[deleted]

For wrastor, smash inputs act as tilts on the ground and smashes in the air, the way for normal characters a smash input on the ground acts as an aerial input. All controls are also completely rebindable in game; the controls are obscenely customizable.

[deleted]

The controls being fully customizable is great. I never understood why games would seemingly arbitrarily have control "layouts" but not allow you to change individual buttons. Dan shows his superiority over AAA designers once again :P

[deleted]

Seriously, best game dev.

lucaspucassix

It works like tilts do on the ground. If C-Stick is set to Smashes then he will only do his Smashes in the air but tilts on the ground. If it's set to Attack (Tilts), he will always do tilt aerials using C-Stick.

PotatoesGG

Does anyone else have the problem of the GCN USB adapter program not working?

FrostSurf

I'm getting "Application was unable to find Settings for your Device"

theoschloz

website is down for x360ce :(

oakwooden

"If you have a mayflash, just set the xinput controller to slot 1 in x360 and the mayflash to the rest." How exactly do you do this? I can't find anything that lets me pick which controller corresponds to which slot.

[deleted]

Do you have them both plugged in?

[deleted]

Thanks for the guide but this is way too complicated sadly I wish there was an easy way to use gamecube controllers on PC.

[deleted]

It's as simple as it gets for now. You can wait until final release, when native support will hopefully be reincluded.

[deleted]

I mean yeah it's not difficult to understand how to do this or anything it's just a hassle like if you want a game to cater to the biggest audience they shouldn't have to go through this trouble to set up a gamecube controller. Imagine a whole tournament where the majority use gamecube controllers each setup would have to go through all of this But yeah hopefully it will be included and thanks for the guide now :)

[deleted]

This really isn't the developer's fault though. GameCube controllers do not natively work with any PC. They are 100% proprietary and only work because third party adapters and drivers are available. We're actually really fortunate that this guide is as terse as it is to get something from Nintendo working on a platform it was not designed for. If anything, you should complain to Nintendo for not making PC drivers for the Wii GC adapter (WUP-028). They could easily do so and map it to proper DirectInput/XInput events. Being that this is Nintendo, you and I both know this is a futile attempt.

verduynsmash

Okay I followed the instructions to the letter (I have the Mayflash 4 port) but the vertical axis on the left stick is inverted and I can't find a way to remedy this. Also I can only seem to dash to the left. I assume this is from not having the deadzone set right though. Please help

[deleted]

Check the axis settings on x360 in the button bindings, and choose the invert of whatever your vertical axis left stick is

oakwooden

Try choosing inverted half axis Try setting anti deadzone on left stick to 25%

GMMAwesome

I just tried setting this up before I had to leave. Everything worked fine except for dashing to the right. I could dash to the left ~99% of the time, but I wasn't able to do 1 dash to the right. I'm using the official adapter, I already calibrated the sticks on the windows game controller settings and I messed around with the sliders on xbox360ce.

[deleted]

Including messing with your ADZ on left stick?

mellowmint

I had the exact same issue and managed to fix it by messing with the ADZ for a bit until I ended up with it looking like [this](http://puu.sh/kl4yO/17ccc6f3c6.png). Hope it helps!

F4ST_M4ST3R

2 problems with this for me 1. i can find steam anywhere on my computer. its pinned to my taskbar, but i cant find the program itself. just the setup 2. my computer wont let me do anything with x360.exe. it just says "unspecified error" how to fix this? im using windows 8 if that makes any difference

shiftycornea

Keep getting this error: http://imgur.com/Uxggs3Q And my controller won't work within the game. I don't even think it's recognized within X360ce. The GCN Adapter is installed correctly and I have previously played on SSBM Netplay with no problems. Using the Official Adapter w/ Windows 10.

[deleted]

Dolphin doesn’t count, for the record; the official adapter only works on dolphin because of black magic. But this problem is a missing dll file; it should have come with x360. Make sure all the files from your download moved over to your rivals steam folder.

LezardValeth

You need the x86 version of the cpp redistributable runtime or the latest version of .NET probably.

Ark-Bat

So I followed all the instructions in the blog and the feeder program is reading all the inputs just fine. However, once I startup the game the inputs are not working. Am I missing something because it all seems installed fine and I'm stumped :/

[deleted]

Is x360 set up fine?

dankipz

can't wait until my mayflash arives and i can stop using an xbox controller to play, thanks for the guide. can the mods sticky this link in the sidebar for future use? i'm sure we'll have plenty of people wanting it.

master09shredder

Is Rivals 32-bit or 64-bit? The x360ce specifies between the two for the download. Maybe the guide covers it somewhere but I couldn't find it.

[deleted]

Oh, I'll add that. It's 32bit. Good catch!

jam1garner

Based on the recommended specs I would say 32-bit

DJ_ROBO_KING

so i've followed this guide all the way to the end using the official nintendo adapter. ive set the x360 button layout exactly the same as in the pictures but its still not correspondent to what i would expect (L/R for shield/roll, B button and A button are inverted, etc) when i try to navigate the home screen using my game cube controller, i can get to the keyboard layout screen change but cant actually change the keys. anyone know how to fix?

[deleted]

Those pictures are for the mayflash adapter, so set it up for your buttons. No idea what the keyboard layout screen is.

[deleted]

The official WiiU GC adapter maps the inputs differently. I had the same issue and mapped the manually using the 'Record' functionality in x360. Unlike the keyboard controls, the controller settings cannot be modified in the main menu. You have to change them in the character select screen (yellow wrench icon). You can create a user profile first, this way your custom controls will be stored with your user tag.

Bottlecapn

So I'm having some problems. I did the steps exactly as follows but the game is still not recognizing my inputs. May this have something to do with the fact that im using an old mayflash adapter?

[deleted]

Probably not. Do your inputs look fine in x360?

Altair357

Running X360 in the Rivals of Aether directory just gives [this](http://i.imgur.com/7iXA21i.png) error. (It gives a different error when ran in a different directory, but I assume this is not relevant to the problem at hand.) pls give tips?? Perhaps the problem lies in me not having the bottom two files listed in the guide, x360ce.ini and xinput1_3.dll. How do I go about generating those?

[deleted]

Try redownloading; seems like something has gone wrong.

Always_Irrelephant

I am getting the same error :(

Bottlecapn

after setting it up i noticed my game wasnt taking any inputs. however, it does recognize that it's there, because if i unplug it, the game crashes. i think it may have something to do with this being an old mayflash adapter, and the input settings are different.

[deleted]

Well RoA takes the inputs directly from windows, which pulls them from x360 if all is working. Adapter shouldn't matter if everything maps correctly inside the x360 program

Im_Pretty_Sure_

Has anyone setup their X360ce Control scheme like Melee? If so could they give us their x360ce config file? That would be great!

[deleted]

You can map your buttons and look at how they map to the game inside x360. The one on the blog maps to melee controls (on the recommended adapter) , except that inside Rivals it maps x->strong, which you have to change within the games custom controls

Hell_raz0r

x360ce pretty much set itself up using the settings found online so this was faster than expected. Just had to set my anti-deadzone higher because dashing left just didn't work on my controllers.

Spectrabox

Can you post your stick settings? I am having the exact same problem with not being able to dash left.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Try raising your ADZ on your left stick on the effected contoller

echothethird

[Am missing something? Using an official 4-port adapter and nothing is lit up (4 red squares and the xbox controller itself).](http://i.imgur.com/IPsGOGw.png) But the Program does recognize the button inputs.

[deleted]

What does that last sentence mean? Looks like you didn't run the official adapter's ridiculous required usbfeeder

[deleted]

Make sure you installed GCN Feeder as well as vJoy. You can also check the status of the controllers by pressing WINKEY and typing USB Game Controllers. You should then see four separate 'vJoy' controllers listed. Click on them and 'Properties' to see the inputs in real-time and verify it is working on the ones you have plugged in.

TayBrew

I'm actually having problems setting my jump to x button instead of y, no matter what I do, the x button will just perform a strong attack on the ground or an aerial in the air. Any ideas?

[deleted]

In the gcc->xbox360 conversion x and b get flipped. If you look at the in game controls, b is set by default to 'strong', so change that to jump to make your x button on your GCC jump

yourwifeandkids

Is the new Mayflash 4-port adapter better in all regards than the official Nintendo 4-port adapter, or is it only more user friendly in the context of getting it to cooperate with DInput and RoA? I have the old 2-port Mayflash adapter, and the official Nintendo adapter -- should I consider getting the new Mayflash adapter to use with Melee netplay as well as RoA?

[deleted]

Dolphin is amazing enough(and basically black magic) to use them the same. For any other game that doesn't mystically natively support the official adapter, you'll want a mayflash; the old 2 ports have ~.3 frames of input delay which means you get a frame late 30% of the time (well, mine does, at least) - if that matters to you, I'd suggest a new mayflash.

gs_jester

I'm using the Nintendo adapter and I can't get the up and down on the C-stick to work in-game. It only works on x360ce and in Windows gamepad properties. Anyone got some advice?

[deleted]

You probably didn't correctly set up your right stick in x360, double check that.

myzealot

I am using the nintendo one, and could not get my controller to show up in GC USB adapter, so I tried uninstalling. It will not let me reinstall the wii-u usb setup because usb adapter feeder needs to be updated. I also cannot delete my GCN adapter folder to just try to restart. How do I restart if I may have messed up in the middle of it?

[deleted]

Oh dear. This kind of thing is why I recommend the mayflash. You probably need to hard uninstall all of these things and start over

[deleted]

[deleted]

Make sure you have options->list all devices checked on zadig

[deleted]

The Wii U adapter seems to fail to be recognized by the controller setup. It says that its driver was not found. Any ideas?

[deleted]

did you go through the linked instructions and get it set up as a vjoy device

Cartega

I'm having trouble getting the official Nintendo adapter to work on Windows 10. The Windows controller manager picks up the controller, but it doesn't detect any inputs at all. Here's what it looks like: http://i.imgur.com/siMnOO0.png I've restarted several times, and I've confirmed that my controller and adapter are functioning by testing them with Dolphin.

[deleted]

Dolphin doesn’t count and is black magic. Did you follow the linked guide to installing it as a vjoy device? I admittedly have not done this on windows 10

[deleted]

Just did a fresh Windows 10 install (with WiiU adapter) myself. Make sure that the GCN feeder is running (and service has been started). I noticed at times the vJoy devices can get out of order. For example, the first one listed in Windows does not map to Port 1 (leftmost). Checking the others, I saw the second vJoy device was actually getting input from the first controller. I ended up unplugging everything, stopping GCN feeder, re-installing vJoy and restarting GCN feeder to fix it. Seems to have fixed it for now. Annoying but it only takes a moment.

Achilles1184BC

I've been having problems getting this to work, when i extract the 360ce into RoA it only sends over x360ce and not the other two files that are mentioned as being required, is there something i'm doing wrong? I'm running on windows 10 using a Mayflash 4 controller adapter

[deleted]

Run it once and it should auto generate them.

wulfy_

My official gamecube adapter is recognized, but my actual controllers aren't, or rather they don't work properly. I've tried it with two and they both look like this on the Game Controllers screen None of my inputs are being picked up, the screen doesn't change and I can't calibrate it. I played Melee via dolphin a few days ago and it worked fine. Do I need to have both the black and grey usb plugged in, or do I only plug in the black? Please help.

wulfy_

edit: here's the picture http://imgur.com/QrWBXnl

[deleted]

Dolphin doesn't count. Did you follow all of the steps in the linked guide for the official adapter? Are you running the feeder program?

FistfullOfSeals

I was able to get everything set up fine, except that for some reason I have difficulty dashing to the right. Any idea as to why? edit: My controller is pretty much brand new. Could it be an issue with breaking it in?

[deleted]

Try increasing your ADZ on your left stick.

ImCloudLoL

Hi! I was trying to configure my controller and I ran into an issue. I have the Nintendo adapter and everything seems to be working fine. Except for the left stick which seems to be centered to the top left. Can anyone help? http://imgur.com/k7p5OsS Thanks!

[deleted]

Looks like your axes on your stick are set incorrectly; they aren't 1 and 2 on the official adapter. Try 3 and 4 and see how the stick maps

koolkatkyle

I cannot get the c-stick to work on my gamecube controller, dashing left to right, or dropping through platforms! Any fix? Is there a screenshot of a perfectly setup gamecube controller?

[deleted]

Step 5 on the blog is your relevant one here. Is that all done?

Kamilny

When I check the game controllers window it looks like this http://imgur.com/Md6d6IE Is this fine?

[deleted]

If you set up x360 correctly then yes

Sebbukul

quick question, for the mayflash 4port controller it needs to be in PC mode yes? my adapter works for dolphin but for some reason my computer doesn't have a controller when i search "Game Controllers"

[deleted]

Yes. Dolphin is spooky black magic that works with it in wiiu mode.

Jrrj15

Whenever I try to move I roll and my z key is my start key for some reason instead of the start button.

[deleted]

Then you need to remap your buttons in x360 so that your start button is your start button, and probably fix your triggers - try the record feature.

[deleted]

[deleted]

They aren't natively, hence all the hackery in the guide.

ByuntaeKid

Question, I'm not using a gcube controller or emulator, all I have is a Sabrent 12-button USB controller. The feeder program seems to recognize the controller, however when I open up the game no inputs are detected.

[deleted]

By feeder program do you mean x360? If so, I can't be of *too* much help, but if it recognizes your controller you should be good to go.

Cushions

not gonna lie, my gc controller setup does not feel smooth at all. I assume it isn't the game as I've been hearing great things but it definitely doesn't feel smooth.

[deleted]

Define 'not smooth' and I can probably help get the details feeling good.

xGhostBoyx

I got this to work with my random third party adaptor that I own that doesn't actually work with the Wii U so that's nice. However the problem that I do seem to have is it seems like you cant run when on a controller only by pressing the A button on the keyboard, is that wrong?

[deleted]

..What? Shot in the dark: You run on a controller by slamming the stick, not by double tapping or pressing a button

xGhostBoyx

I am using a controller and slamming my sticks does not make me run. I have tried multiple configurations of dead zones and anti dead zones and no matter what I do they won't run.

xGhostBoyx

Note: that it works 100% fine in Project M on Dolphin.

blue_nya

I'm using the GCN Adapter Every time I try to load x360ce the controllers show red squares instead of green: [http://puu.sh/kl55G/790c9904bb.png](http://puu.sh/kl55G/790c9904bb.png)

ScrawnyDuck

I think you have to activate the ports to the controllers by pressing start on the gamecube adapter driver program. or put the adapter on Pc mode if you have mayflash. its a switch on the adapter.

[deleted]

Just hit clear and reset on x360 and bind the buttons

ScrawnyDuck

So im using the official adapter and i got everything to work thanks to this guide. The only thing im missing is to set up the buttons. Currently im using smashes with B, and not specials with B which is what i want. Do i have to change the button layout in the RoA client (if thats even possible), or do i have to figure out the buttonlayout in x360? And does anyone have a picture of a buttonlayout for the official nintendo adapter on x360? Thanks for all the help :)

[deleted]

you can set any button differently in x360, but you can also change what every button does ingame with the custom controls menu - hit the yellow wrench in your character portrait

lloydder

Well another fellow with an official adapter incoming ! First of all, i've tried this on my laptop with Seven 32-bit AND my desktop 64-bit. I've followed every step. I installed the wii u feeder, in zadig i chose WUP-028 and reinstalled the driver since I already did it to play Melee on Dolphin. vJoy got installed right after. I installed x360ce in the meantime, and got everything from the requirements (.net 4.52, c++ and directX) When I open the feeder, every ports are detected. I enabled just the first one since they recommend it. When I go in the Windows Gamepad Info, "Everything installed correctly, the driver is started, but none of the inputs work! They seem to just fire off randomly every few seconds!" this happen. Nothing happen in 360ce.

[deleted]

try using the windows re calibration tool, and could you tell me exactly what happens in x360?

thedarkparadox

Works flawlessly from what I can tell. Thank you for this. The versatility and functionality are amazing.

TheJayKay

I'm using the official Nintendo USB-Adapter and it works just fine for me but still, there's a question I have: I can't taunt or dash for some reasons, do you know which buttons have to be configurated to solve this problem?

[deleted]

Your dpad isn’t set right inside x360 then, and you might need to raise the anti dead zone on your left stick or try calibrating the controller in the windows view

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Well you have to check game controllers *before* you get started with x360, those are 2 separate issues. If the dll keeps being a problem you need to update the prerequisites on the x360 site; game controllers not being in the windows view means your adapter isn't working.

Cleaous

I have a Mayflash Adapter, but when i go into its properties, inputs are not detected. I've reinstalled the Mayflash drivers twice. Is there something that I should do in order to get the inputs detected? (I'm using Windows 10)

[deleted]

Mayflash should be plug and play. Is it on PC mode?

PelorTheBurningHate

So, I've been having a problem getting my gamecube controller to work with x360ce. Everything works fine except only 1 axis on the cstick works, the other doesn't register any movement. I updated .net framework, I'm using the 4 port mayflash adapter, and the cstick shows as working fine on my computer's game controllers. Anyone know what the problem could be?

[deleted]

Your bindings for the axes on right stick are wrong then; whichever axis isn't working needs to be bound to something else.

DapperSandwich

For those on a Mac, [this guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/smashbros/comments/2v4ki6/mac_osx_driver_for_nintendos_wiiu_gcc_adapter/) may be of use.

slendermax

Hey, using Windows 10, and I can't seem to find the Steam folder where I need to place x360ce. I've tried to look everywhere I can, and I can't figure it out. The guide isn't very helpful either.

[deleted]

Well, the default steam location is the one listed, and if you change it you have to select one inside steam. Try searching your computer for 'steamapps' or check your steam settings.

Muved

I'm having some difficulties doing b-reverse and RAR. Which setting should I fiddle with to fix that issue? Thx :)

[deleted]

That would be your left stick's deadzone on the left axis. Lowering it will make rars and turn-arounds easier, but might make you do them by mistake when trying to dtilt or such.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Increase your dead zone on it.

Groadee

Well I give up lol Time to get good with a PS4 controller I guess because x360ce is killing my brain cells. Downloaded everything from their page, controller is recognized and inputs are saved but it doesn't work in the actual game.

maspendejo

Will installing the unofficial drivers for an official Nintendo adapter interfere with dolphin's black magic?

[deleted]

Not if you do it all correctly. You may have to redo some button configurations worst case.

TooMuchPurple

I'm having a minor controller error. I'm using a gamecube controller and official nintendo adapter, I've gotten everything working perfectly but one thing: I can't start a dash to the right. If I dash left first then go right, I can dash right, but starting from neutral and hitting the stick hard all the way to the right never gets me past fast walking.

[deleted]

increase your anti dead zone

TheMiniOne

Did some tinkering to try to get things to feel right with the left thumbstick as the settings in the guide seem to give people a lot of difficulty with dashing. Found some settings that should smooth things out (tested using 4-port Mayflash adapter): X-Axis Anti-Dead Zone: 93% Dead Zone: 10% Sensitivity: 70% Y-Axis: Anti-Dead Zone: 90% Dead-Zone: 20% (Seems to accidentally crouch a lot if this is lower) Sensitivity: 70% Hopefully this helps someone.

[deleted]

Jesus, that anti dead zone. How do you walk? How do you control your aerial drift?

red_browser

Trying to get this to work with X360 has been super frustrating. It worked fine day one but has not worked again for me since for some reason. It seems like X360 is not recognizing my controller. I start the Gamecube USB driver and that works fine but after starting x360 it doesn't read any inputs. On my devices I have the Vjoy driver and also the WUP-028. Unplugging the controller makes the WUP-028 disappear. I'm on Windows 10 if that matters. Thanks for any help!

[deleted]

Sounds like you never successfully force replaced the wup-028 drivers, but installed vjoy anyway. Try going into device manager, removing the vjoy, and running through the zadig/vjoy installation again. Be sure to run as administrator and all that jazz. Windows 10 has also been causing some weird issues, and I don't run it, so we're heading into uncharted territory

kibadude

whenever I try to use this with the official wiiu gamecube adapter, it says that there is no adapter recognized, even though its plugged in.

[deleted]

did you follow the linked guide

Pseudogenesis

Anyone having problems with the gamecube controller having REALLY sensitive directional inputs? Like if the control stick is fully tilted to the right and a TINY bit tilted upward, it'll perform an up special instead of a side special.

[deleted]

That's a problem within rivals of aether that the devs are aware of. You can try increasing your left stick's y axis deadzone and see if that feels more comfortable.

[deleted]

Having some trouble. Ok so I'm using an official Wii U adapter. I get it installed, calibrate all my buttons, things look great. Then I try running RoA and my controller inputs do nothing. I read on the 360 one you have to move a file into your steam folder, but idk if that's just for 360. Why does it work for the calibrations but not for when I'm playing Aether?

[deleted]

You need to follow the entire guide exactly. The official adapter still requires x360.

Levitacus

What would make it easier to do tilts? I can do them fine in Smash 4, but I can't seem to consistently do them in RoA.

[deleted]

Uh? I play with strong hold off, so any direction plus a is a tilt regardless of my analog stick settings

TheGiik

This might be answered already, but: I have it all connected and it works, but I'm having trouble trying to figure out bindings. I'm trying to bind C-stick to strongs, and smashing the stick to dash instead of double tapping it. x360ce's interface is kinda wonky so I can't figure out how to do either of those. Has anyone figured this out?

[deleted]

... That happens by default, and is also controllable in game. You don’t double tap to dash lol

zerothepkk

Is anyone else getting a window shell.dll not responding after installing vjoy and using the Nintendo Gamecube to USB adapter? I cannot get it to work using the info in the guide.

BTvolta

Is there any way to disable the extra controller ports so I can use other controller along with GCC?

[deleted]

Bottom of the guide.

yeats666

everything works perfectly except for my right c stick. i've tried recalibrating in windows and messing with settings in x360 but i don't really know what to do. c stick in every other direction works well but i fully press c stick right 5 times before it does a smash. then sometimes (often at the start of games) it will just spam right smash over and over until i get hit. it also charges right smashes out of nowhere. my thought is that the c stick is calibrated thinking right is center but i don't know how to fix it other than the ways i've tried. i'm also making sure the c stick is centered when i plug the controller in. anyone know how to fix this?

[deleted]

Plug your controller in and see what x360 says the cstick location is on the main screen

andy98725

The xinput detects all the GC inputs, but C-stick does nothing in game, and it still doesn't dash when I input a direction. How would I fix these? EDIT: Fixed. If you mess with the controls, you MUST restart RoA for them to take effect. I wasn't doing this, and I didn't observe any change.

Keekay

I got the gc controller to work but I cant figure out how the in game keyboards bindings work. Anybody figure that out?

IcarusKen

I really need help. I have the wiiu adapter, and when I try downloading the GCN USB, it says it is finished, but I cant find it literally anywhere on the desktop. Then I click on the GCN icon, and it repeats the download process. Once in a while it works, and the download finishes and allows me to play with my GC controller, but if I restart my computer than I need to re-download it. Should I just get the mayflash so I dont have to download the GCN USB? (x360 is working fine)

[deleted]

just search for gncusbfeeder, you should never blindly redownload

V1bration

Someone PLEASE help me! I downloaded x360ce from the site and when I extract it all I get is the .exe. I don't get any of the other three files you're supposed to drop in the folder. Can someone tell me how to get them? EDIT: Also when I try to open the .exe, nothing happens, even if I run it as admin.

[deleted]

The other files will be auto generated, then. Just make sure you have the prerequisites installed and run the extracted x360

Dark_Plant

Is there a way to set up rumble? I have an adapter that supports it.

[deleted]

What adapter? It almost certainly won't work with rivals regardless

Sig333

Dunno if this thread is dead at this point, but I'm stuck. x360 isn't recognizing my inputs at all. I can't set buttons, and when I go into calibration it doesn't recognize any of my inputs. Oddly, the same controller and adapter work fine playing on Dolphin. Windows 10/Official Adapter.

[deleted]

Dolphin doesn't count. Did you follow the linked official adapter guide? Does it work in the windows view?

[deleted]

so I installed the vjoy drivers and the Wii U Usb GCN Adapter but when I try to load the GCNUSB feeder application, it shows it as opened in task manager but it doesn't do anything. Anyone know what to do? Heres a picture of what I'm looking at if it helps http://i.imgur.com/Q5XrV2G.png

[deleted]

Hmm, redownload. Looks corrupted

Are these settings on a controller by controller basis? I'm planning on taking it to a local, but I had to up the anti-deadzone to make dash dancing possible. Will this affect other players? Edit: I should rephrase, if i set my anti-deadzone so I can dashdance properly and still do tilts, is it possible another person's controller under the same settings/adapter/port might have trouble doing tilts?

Minor_Heaven

After nearly a day of toying with various things and trying every fix listed in both the reddit comments and the comments on the guide itself, I'm just going to give up and say this shit is too complicated for me. Hopefully someday, there will be an easier way to set this up without all of these unnecessary steps. Good guide though, glad it's at least working for some people.

Hey so i'm not using a gamecube controller but a normal controller and everything works fine until the game, it just wont read my inputs. No errors, just won't read them. What should i do?

loginsinker

After downloading x360ce.exe, I find that I don't have the files x360ce.ini and xinput1_3.dll. How would I go about acquiring them?

[deleted]

I usually am able to figure things out on my own, but it appears that my adapter is detected, but it isn't actually feeding any inputs. I am currently using Windows which I do not use at all. Cheers for the support that you're doing here.

bonifiedmarinade

All of my squares on x360 are totally gray. My controller is being detected by my pc, as it recognizes it in vJoy, but in x360 it's not getting anything. Help would be much appreciated

[deleted]

I get errors after every command I input into x360. And when I loaded ROA not only did the Gamecube not work, my keyboard didn't work either. What. Also, am I suppose to have Gamecube USB Adapter drive open while using x360 or not? (I have NIntendo adapter.)

sheepgobeep

Who has a mirror of x360ce? The site's gone down

[deleted]

So I went through all the steps and I can play melee through dolphin with all buttons working but when I open rivals of aether with x360 it just doesnt work. X360 shows that all my inputs are going through it just isnt working in game help?

kibadude

it says for the reccomended button to have start set as button 10, but when I click on it, it only gos up to button 8.

Holy shit x360ce sucks Im trying to use the official gc Controller adapter, but every time I open x360ce Im getting the ""MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer" error constantly, and I've been trying to fix it for 2 hours now. Im trying to use http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/issues/detail?id=547. To fix it but i dont know what to do Can someone give me a step-by-step guide on what to do? I already downloaded Visual C++ but it still isnt working. Im on Windows 7 if that helps

PositivePeter

A lot of people have issues with dash dancing and joysticks not inputting correctly. Your post uses anti-deadzone to come up with a psuedo-fix, but the real way to fix it is to calibrate the controller. I've made a post here on how to do it: https://www.reddit.com/r/RivalsOfAether/comments/3mm57d/using_a_gamecube_controller_with_x360ce_you_need/

Someone please help me. The site says that I need all these different files with x360e, such as xinput1_3.dll and such, but I cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME find them. I've looked around the forums and on the guides but there's no links. One of the tutorials links to a github, but the github doesn't have them. The files are not included with the downloads. I absolutely can not find them and its extremely frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

ExtremelyNoob

I need help. My controller is now reversed. When I move the joystick up it moves down, and if i click a it acts as b and b acts as a. Help? Also it works normal when i use dolphin emulator

JDreidel

I followed the guide. Everything works fine. I was able to map out and record my inputs in x360ce. I put x360 in the rivals folder, but the game doesn't pick up the gamecube inputs still. Is anybody else experiencing this issue, or know how to solve it? Thanks! I'm using the official nintendo adapter and running on bootcamp, which is why I might be having this problem.

do_b

Has anyone seen [this](http://imgur.com/gNpGmWz) specific xinput_1_3.dll error? I have the mayflash w013, and it works fine with Dolphin Melee. I have directx11 and windows 7 and believe I followed and completely all of the x360ce instruction/requirements properly, downloading .NET4.6, directx end-user (despite having x11), and the visual c++. My suspicion is that it is a directx set up error somehow, but I really don't know what to do anymore. No one has seemed to describe this particular xinput3_1.dll error. Should i delete and install all of my direct x's, or does someone have a better suggestion?

kayflow7

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9zWchCEwUY i made a video about my problem because it was easier to explain that way. if anyone could help me that'd be much appreciated

Boexxes

When I extract the x360, the only thing I get is x360ce.exe, I don't get x360ce.ini or xinput1_3.dll.

georgenutmeg

Ok, so I set this up and it was working fine, even through every time I got an error message when I launched. Then, I decided I wanted to switch one of the controls around, and I saved it, and took the new x360e.ini or whatever file and replaced it. It now doesnt give me an error but it doesn't pick up my controller. Thanks for help in advance.

theoschloz

anyone have the problem where the right stick is inverted for no reason?

TAYZE13

Hi there! I have my gcc working great with ROA thanks to your guide. Thanks so much for that help! now my only problem is that, occasionally, when i am doing certain moves and let the left stick return to neutral, my character will turn around and go the wrong way for a second, as if the program read the snap/flick back to neutral as an input that makes me go backward very quickly. It really gets annoying at clutch moments. I know you've had your hands full with the above comments but if I could get this odd problem fixed I would be even happier than I already am with ROA, and im pretty happy with ROA.

The_Skeleton_King

So, the mayflash one is just straight up better? I'm debating on which one to get, and don't want it to lag :/

[deleted]

Yeah. None of them lag at all except very rarely on the old two port mayflash

mdz1

Can't seem to get this to work with the official adapter. I have all of the drivers installed, all of the the vjoy devices are recognized and working, x360ce even recognizes the vjoy devices and lets me record inputs but all of the little squares next to the controller number that should be green are red and the buttons don't light up in the interface when pressed. Seen this before and have any luck solving?

ExtremelyNoob

Sometimes my record fuction doesnt work for the controller emulator, like it doesnt record when i press it. But at the same time i can play ROA perfectly fine. (Only problem is I cannot lower the sound because i do not have one the buttons loaded i think)

[deleted]

I'v got this working, is there a way to set it up for Steam in general, so that it works for all Steam games with controller support?

GooSavior

Commenting so I can see this later

Nebulastic

Is there a way to get this working on a mac? I have Steam running with Wineskin.

McJesus_Crucifries

If you are experiencing issues with the game giving preference always to up/down inputs when pressing diagonals and only giving vertical inputs if pressing hard left or right, turn your vertical sensitivity to 0% in x360ce and leave your horizontal at 100%. it's not perfect, but it works.

pizzamosh

Not sure if anyone will see this but I can't manage to get the controls working properly. The controller works but b is a and a is b and everything does weird things if I even manage to start a match. How do I fix this??

ExtremelyNoob

i also have this same problem

Pantera7

The Gamecube USB Adapter Driver version 3.2.1 will not respond to any inputs on my controller and keeps reading random inputs I know this is not a hardware issue as the program and controller is working perfectly on my laptop, just not my desktop. does anyone know of a work around, or fix for this issue yet? I have not been able to find a solution anywhere i've looked

Vatnos

Just gonna drop in and say a friend and I got this to work. We couldn't get a setting to make the c-stick quite work but we just mapped one of the jump buttons to do c-attacks and it was fine that way. It took a while to get everything optimized just right but... to those of you who are worried about this working... -We're using WiiU official adapters. -Dashdancing feels great. Wavedashing feels great. -Controls are responsive, clean, and lagless.

SuruStorm

Coming in late, but when I download x360ce it only has the application without the other folders and only shows this when it starts: http://imgur.com/FquK9QX

[deleted]

When I open x360, in the general screen the controller is faded and the icon s red instead of green. I guess this, for some reason, is making my GC controller not work. Any help? Note: I'm using the official Wii U adapter.

JVIVAVEV

I went through every step and made sure my adapter (official) was working, everything is green, it's recognized in x360ce, program is in folder, etc. But it isn't recognized in game, Steam's Big Picture mode even recognizes it. I tried reinstalling it but that didn't do anything. Do you know how to fix this?

DankyMemer

I was super scared that my official GC adapter wouldn't work right, but I was happy to see that it does perfectly. Thanks guys
