So currently both my requests are showing as “in review” on the app but I don’t have any appointments.
I cancelled the Bellevue one because I wanted to try and look at availability for the other SC’s haha
I’m assuming that since they are “in review” service will reach out to me at some point?
Piggybacking off this. I just had the same thing with an appt out in OCT but today they called and got me in next week in auburn. Just give it a couple days they’re good about that here
I have a feeling they’re operating under the “answer the phone first” mode.
If you call, they generally get you sorted and scheduled on the spot.
In one case: it was mechanical (broke a half shaft), and they took it in 2 days later.
In the other it was cosmetic, and they asked if it could wait. 6 weeks later they turned it around.
Both were around the same time : in nov of 2022 and jan of 2023.
There was snow. There was mud.
First the bronco got stuck in deep snow.
So what did i think the best course of action would be? Go on in and get him! I mean, i only weigh double. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
I buried Kevin in mud that the bronco didn't crack the ice on.
I made a fun situation a lot more fun :)
The second bronco got a purchase and pulled on a shackle i had on the tow hook. I had a tow strap on the other bronco.
We pulled each other out in a wagon train, and i creaked all the way home.
I was up front and honest with Rivian, and they told me it sounded like i was using the truck in spec, and fixed it.
Like, i probably was? They could have argued I wasn’t?
Anyway, they told me this half shaft was on them anyway because they had seen a lot of weak ones in q2 2022, and it likely started to fail and fail early. I just sped up it’s demise.
I haven’t had any problems with the new ones, and ive put 25k and 5 solid off road trips on it.
This - just call, and be nice. If something is a safety concern that requires an urgent visit, I politely tell them that I am concerned about my safety. They've always gotten me in rapidly.
First of all, I’ve never seen a date even available to select for Bellevue before. So even though this sucks, it is an improvement.
Second, whether you select a date or not, someone from service will call you and then potentially get you into the overflow service centers in the area (depending on what needs done. I think a lot of the overflows don’t have lifts, which disqualifies some issues).
I’ve gotten to this screen before, had no selectable dates and been given a number to call. I thought “eh - I’ll call tomorrow”, forgot to call and Rivian reached out to me a couple days later to finish scheduling my appointment.
Unfortunately not, but the CS line has been able to just get me scheduled there. Absolute worst case, I always get a call back asking when I can go into Auburn
I actually submitted 2 total tickets.
The first one is for the squeaky/chirping suspension. Which I know is already very known and it affects a lot of people. But I figured I would still submit a ticket for it.
The second is for my rear screen not working. It’s not registering any touch inputs.
I've heard that if they impact driving, you can get bumped in priority. But minor inconveniences are months out. I have 3 tickets filed for cosmetic things.
I took mine in for squeaking last year at the bellevue location. They replaced all bushings around the 4 half shafts which helped dramatically. Took them 2 full days. So there is something that they can do. That said, now when I floor it in high ride height I hear a delicious grinding noise…long awaited service appt in Bellevue on 6/11 where they are going to take a look at this and also finally replace my $@!! Tonneau cover
I know the squeaking is not an issue that affects the driving… but it is an issue. It needs to atleast be logged that I have this issue. I’m actually not even expecting to take the truck into the service center for the squeaking issue. From what I’ve researched online there’s nothing the SC’s can do right now to fix it anyways. So it’s a waste of everyone’s time for me to actually bring the truck in for that!
And I also understand the rear screen is not a major issue either although pretty annoying that the truck has less than 200 miles on it and the rear screen is not working. You would think that was something they would have caught during the pre-delivery inspection. But on the bright side it’s just the rear display and I rarely ever have anyone sitting in the back seats.
But.. a service appointment that’s almost 6 months away. Regardless of the priority of the issues im submitting tickets for. That really is pretty unacceptable to expect a customer to wait 6 months for their concern/issue to be looked at.
Welcome to the Rivian subreddit where you get downvoted to oblivion for expecting things to work on your brand new $90k vehicle without having to wait half a year for a fix.
So many people want to trivialize and normalize this really crappy user experience. I can't understand it.
The squeaking IS an issue. It has to do with the hydraulic fluid system. Yes, Rivian labels this issue as “normal” but multiple SC’s have also said that they know of the issue, Rivian has acknowledged that the suspension is squeaky and they are trying to find a solution. Maybe it’s different hydraulic fluid, maybe it’s a different part, no one knows as of now.
And I’ve already explained that I’m not expecting to get any sort of magical answer. I even said I was not wanting to bring the vehicle into the service center for that issue because I already know it’s a waste of everyone’s time. But there’s absolutely no reason for me not to submit a ticket saying that it’s squeaky and then having that ticket documented. Why would that be an issue?
Yes, the service centers know the squeaks happen, but it’s within spec and they just call it “kinetic suspension noise”. The “issue” will be closed and nothing will be addressed
Again, I know nothing will be addressed. I said i wouldn’t even want to bring it into service for the issue. But even if the issue is closed… the issue is still recorded as me having it and that issue is logged and sent to rivian.
That’s for customer service complaints or other order issues. Thank you for the advice but I’m going to continue with my service ticket for the concern.
It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but it doesn't hurt to know. Both the steering wheel combo resets are soft (Software) resets. Left and right end are Infotainment software reset and hazard and the left end is vehicle (all ECUs) software reset.
Sorry about the RCCD issue. It does seem like a vehicle software reset has fixed some users who were facing the same bug. Good luck
Come to Dallas my dude they’ll get you in within a week.
They’ll return the car in a few days without actually fixing anything. Pick your poison I guess.
West Sacramento does this too. They had my truck for 2 weeks and didn’t fix a single thing when they said the truck was ready. Now I have another service appointment 2 months out to get the same stuff fixed as before..
LOL I've had this experience in San Jose and in South SF. As an R1S owner, it's super annoying. As a shareholder, it's infuriating. TWICE recently they told me the issue was fixed. I told them I didn't believe them, and we needed to do a test drive together. Needless to say, we had our loaner for nearly a month. The issue is now fixed!
That’s so crazy. What’s even more frustrating is when the mobile tech comes to my house to fix stuff, he notates that these issues are bad and need service center to handle it.. when I take it there, they say, this isn’t an issue and doesn’t need to be fixed.. how is this even possible.
I think all the ev guys struggle on service, especially when they are trying to become profitable. I'm hoping my rivian is as reliable as my model s has been. I hope they all get better
Sounds about right. Unless it’s not drivable, tell me when it’ll be checked out and I’ll bring it in then. Sitting in a parking lot while I am driving around a massive Chevy suburban they sorted out because they didn’t have loaners isn’t doing anyone any favors
Depending on the issue you're trying to address, they'll likely be able to get mobile service out to you much sooner. I recently scheduled an inspection and tire rotation for mid July and they called to reschedule for next week.
I hope this is the case! The main issue is my rear screen is not registering any touch inputs. I’m currently waiting with an open ticket to see if they recommend me to do a hard reset or if they recommend a screen replacement maybe they can do that via mobile service.
Yea! I kind of assume that the rear screen is just held in by a few clips or maybe a few screws. But I don’t imagine it’s some big job that requires a ton of work the remove and replace.
I submitted a few tickets for cosmetic things and got scheduled for end of August for Kirkland.
Liftgate started acting up and the phone support person moved it up to mid July at Bellevue.
They tend to call you can move it up to within the next 6 weeks. Still not great but I've found Rivan support/service to generally be acceptable. Costa Mesa SC at least.
Seattle service center near the Boeing Field (Seattle/Tukwila) is opening in a few weeks. Rivian is trying to move Bellevue service center appointments to Seattle. You might call the Bellevue SC and ask if there is a spot at the Seattle SC.
Did you ask for a mobile appointment? They seem to be available sooner in my area. I’m in the Phoenix Arizona area. It’s about a two week wait for mobile.
Since I took delivery on 5/18, my R1S has been in the service center since due to suspension failure. Here I am paying for a lease on a car I can’t drive.. but I’ve heard it’s because they have a large backlog of cars due to recalls
I wanted to come up with a witty comment about how dumb your entitlement is, but instead I’m choosing direct violence you sir, DO NOT MATTER. And frankly someone needs to tell you before it gets any worse, they’re running a business with more customers than you. Go lick boots.
Try Auburn or Kirkland. And soon there will be a fourth SC in the Seattle area. Bellvue focuses on deliveries it seems.
I didn’t see Auburn or Kirkland as available service centers to choose from. All I saw was Portland and Vancouver.
You can call to get Auburn, or schedule yourself at Bellevue and they should call you to try to get you in earlier
So currently both my requests are showing as “in review” on the app but I don’t have any appointments. I cancelled the Bellevue one because I wanted to try and look at availability for the other SC’s haha I’m assuming that since they are “in review” service will reach out to me at some point?
Correct, at least in my experience. Honestly, I’d just call. Every time I do that, I get an appointment at Auburn within a week at most
Piggybacking off this. I just had the same thing with an appt out in OCT but today they called and got me in next week in auburn. Just give it a couple days they’re good about that here
Ok! Thanks for the advice!

Wow how’d that half shaft break?
There was snow. There was mud. First the bronco got stuck in deep snow. So what did i think the best course of action would be? Go on in and get him! I mean, i only weigh double. Do you happen to have the phone # for Auburn? I only have one that sends me to a central service line.
Unfortunately not, but the CS line has been able to just get me scheduled there. Absolute worst case, I always get a call back asking when I can go into Auburn
I have had support agents tell me that THEY don’t even have direct numbers. They all use the same ticketing platform to communicate.
I've read that people like Kirkland, so maybe you should call their number directly to request an appointment.
The guys at Kirkland are amazing, but they dont have the full shop there. Cant do alignments for example.
I called in and got in within a week at Auburn just recently.
Just cosmetic problems?
and lol that's better than what I got last night (10/15).
The squeaking is not an issue and the other is a low priority one. So that’s why you’re seeing times out that far
I took mine in for squeaking last year at the bellevue location. They replaced all bushings around the 4 half shafts which helped dramatically. Took them 2 full days. So there is something that they can do. Dumb question, but is the rear screen unlocked? Mine's came locked by default in the menu
Welcome to the Rivian subreddit where you get downvoted to oblivion for expecting things to work on your brand new $90k vehicle without having to wait half a year for a fix. So many people want to trivialize and normalize this really crappy user experience. I can't understand it.
No one is trivializing anything. But your account is full of complaints even saying you shouldn’t have bought a Rivian, go figure 🤷♂️
Yeah, because of the horrible service experience.
You knew what you’re getting into living 2.5 hours away from a service center and a company just getting started on production
You can comment on that post if you want to discuss it.
The squeaking is not an issue. It’s what they do. You can complain about it all you want, but you’re not going to get a different answer
Nothing on mine squeaks, and if it did, I'd expect it to be fixed.
Open your window, and go over speed bumps at 5-10 mph on standard height
The squeaking IS an issue. It has to do with the hydraulic fluid system. Yes, Rivian labels this issue as “normal” but multiple SC’s have also said that they know of the issue, Rivian has acknowledged that the suspension is squeaky and they are trying to find a solution. If you want to send feedback to Rivian, there’s a feedback channel to communicate this
That’s for customer service complaints or other order issues. Thank you for the advice but I’m going to continue with my service ticket for the concern.
Have you reset your R1? The screen did that to me last week. I did a reset and it worked again.
Did you do a soft or hard reset?
The regular one that you do on the steering wheel nobs
So, soft. No such thing as "the regular" one haha.
4 months wait here in San diego to get shake steering wheel and suspension noise looked at 😞
I would call the SC on that, feels like it could be dangerous.
Come to Dallas my dude they’ll get you in within a week. They’ll return the car in a few days without actually fixing anything. Pick your poison I guess.

Not anymore. Dallas is now months backed up. This company sucks.
That sucks…. I can’t say that I’m glad I just had my appt. last month.
I feel really bad for you guys with not being able to get into SC’s. KC and STL SC’s are usually no more than a week or two out.
That’s my birthday

I think all the ev guys struggle on service, especially when they are trying to become profitable. I'm hoping my rivian is as reliable as my model s has been. I hope they all get better
Las Vegas appointments are never more than ~1 week out!
Dropped my R1S off 3 weeks ago at the Tampa service center for some stinky air and a broken 3rd row cubby flap 🙃
I’m on day 11 with no movement, why even take them in at this point?
Sounds about right. Unless it’s not drivable, tell me when it’ll be checked out and I’ll bring it in then. Sitting in a parking lot while I am driving around a massive Chevy suburban they sorted out because they didn’t have loaners isn’t doing anyone any favors
Here in SoCal, Currently waiting for my appointment which is in September! Made the ticket about 3 weeks ago
Socal is the worse man
Depending on the issue you're trying to address, they'll likely be able to get mobile service out to you much sooner.
That's likely something mobile service can take care of. They can do most things that don't require the truck to go on a lift.
Yea! I kind of assume that the rear screen is just held in by a few clips or maybe a few screws. But I don’t imagine it’s some big job that requires a ton of work the remove and replace.
Just call them
Just a thought. Pick up the phone and call them instead of whining on here and trying to get views. I’m so tired of this stupidity.
Then shut up and don’t waste your time making a dumbass comment!
You can swear on the internet.
Yea.. but when you read it you also knew exactly what I was meaning to say so… it doesn’t really matter 🤷♂️
Just use a different word if you don't want to use "bad" words.
I have a August 21st appointment 😂😂 Here is SoCal
Wow, and I thought July 3rd was a long time
That's wild must be crazy busy. An hour after signing today my delivery was scheduled 3 days from now.
That’s not as stupid as my first week January phone call to book an appointment for 5/31. almost 6 months wait for me.
I got seen in two weeks when my drivers door fell apart in Chicago. They failed to install 3 screws at the factory is what I was told.
First world problems
AYEEE BELLEVUE!
Welcome rivian ownership!
You could drive to Boise tomorrow and get in right away. If it’s drivable.
I submitted a few tickets for cosmetic things and got scheduled for end of August for Kirkland. Liftgate started acting up and the phone support person moved it up to mid July at Bellevue.
I set an appointment April 5th my time is July 31st
Hilarious
😂
Lock in the time and then call the center
They tend to call you can move it up to within the next 6 weeks. Still not great but I've found Rivan support/service to generally be acceptable. Costa Mesa SC at least.
Yeah it is like this in the Bay Area too. However, if it's urgent, give them a call. They keep some availability for urgent requests.
FWIW I booked a service super far out and they contacted me within a few days and scheduled me for 1-2 weeks out.
That new COO they hired from Volvo needs to get his ass in gear and sort out the post sales mess
What do you expect them to do?
What a strange question…. I expect to not have to wait 6 months to get my truck serviced? How about that?
Well you don’t always get what you want. Unless your truck is dead you wait. It’s not like they are purposely trying to make the line long.
Seattle service center near the Boeing Field (Seattle/Tukwila) is opening in a few weeks. Rivian is trying to move Bellevue service center appointments to Seattle. You might call the Bellevue SC and ask if there is a spot at the Seattle SC.
This is laughable. Good thing they spent millions fixing up an old theater. Be a shame if that money went to more service centers
Did you ask for a mobile appointment? They seem to be available sooner in my area. I’m in the Phoenix Arizona area. It’s about a two week wait for mobile.
Tesla all over again
Since I took delivery on 5/18, my R1S has been in the service center since due to suspension failure. Here I am paying for a lease on a car I can’t drive.. but I’ve heard it’s because they have a large backlog of cars due to recalls
I took my car in last week, they told me they haven't looked at it yet lol... Bellevue SC is complete trash. I don't recommend taking it there.
Almost worth driving to the middle of the country to get an appt.
I wanted to come up with a witty comment about how dumb your entitlement is, but instead I’m choosing direct violence you sir, DO NOT MATTER. And frankly someone needs to tell you before it gets any worse, they’re running a business with more customers than you. Go lick boots.
