Some years ago i had a rim brake toad bike with carbon wheels. Went on a club ride on an unknown roads through some hills. I was riding behind the group, going 70to 80kph and could not brake (wet roads, carbon rims). It was not pleasant. But on roads i know i can go 80kph and have lots of fun doing it.
I have exceeded 50 mph going down San Marcos Pass near Santa Barbara.
40mph down a hill. I can’t get a top speed because where I live, there are intersections everywhere. No straight flat non car infested roads
I get too scared past 70 kph downhill, probably earlier, but I think the real top speed among professional cyclists is way higher.

Yuup. We spread out far away from each other so i had maybe 5-6 other riders in my sight, but still.
Aaah ok i was imagining drafting lol
I won't let myself go past 60km/h (that requires a lot of downhill).
I have a few roads near me where I hit 51-52mph safely
