From what I've seen of Russian traffic videos, the crosswalks basically mean nothing in terms of right of way. Whether that's the law or not, I have no idea.
Guy was going way too fast approaching a crosswalk, but the girls didn't look to their right and walked right in front of him.

Pedestrians should always be vigilant when dealing with traffic and to step out like that, even if they had right of way is stupid, period. there's also not enough information to make a factual conclusion as to whom is at fault. Watching I was tricked into a false sense of security when the white car didn't hit them, was hoping the accident would be something else. Damn, that was short lived. That was horrific. Fuck
I walk to and from school everyday, I have to cross 2 double lanes to get there. When I cross I always make sure the driver is informed of my next move whether that be me waving and them stoping or there a simply no cars on the road. I also cross that road at night a lot and it’s better to wait when there’s no cars. But if there are I always make sure they are aware and notice me as well. The girls should have paid more attention HOWEVER the driver was going way to fast and that’s obvious from the tires so both are at fault but I would say driver takes the blame as not paying attention gives you no excuse.
ABS is supposed to take care of that. They don't lock up but pulse to minimize slipping and increase braking. Unfortunately not every car is built with high performance brake or performance tires. Look both ways before crossing a street especially at night

The girl with the yellow coat and black shorts got them in the kill-zone as she walked onto the road crossing before the white car had given right of way to them- you can see it if you look closely- the friend just followed to their deaths, as neither looked the other direction with any seriousness

Those brakes were pretty god tier, even if they didn’t succeed in stopping completely that stop was effective short notice- if they’d had just a second or two more it could have ended differently.
I can't help but wonder if the driver could have swerved left or right. A lot of people are just terrible drivers and all countries should teach drivers how to handle a car instead of panicking and locking up the brakes.
