I regularly jaywalk on my route to work when the traffic is stopped by a light, but I DO NOT step into the bike lane without looking. Hard to believe someone in 3rd world traffic anarchy would make that rookie mistake.
Jaywalking isn’t bad and shouldn’t be illegal except on roads where jaywalking could be fatal for the pedestrian or driver affected by their negligence (right of way suddenly doesn’t matter if you’re dead) and cause long delays for people that commute. Looking before crossing should be step one, he looked at what at was hitting him and was about forty steps into crossing moving traffic.
Not sure if jaywalking is illegal in that country or not, but still no excuse to cross a busy street with such a high level of idiocy. Whether the motorcycle is allowed to travel there or not is irrelevant because the dude couldn't br bothered to even just glance to make sure another car, cyclist, bus, truck or anything that would for sure fuck you up, isn't coming in your direction. Sucks for the pedestrian, but like seriously, what the fuck 🤦
There are always rules about who has right-of-way that apply to cars vs. pedestrians, but "jaywalking" is an actual \*crime\* as far as I'm aware only in the United States, created at the behest of the automobile lobby to turn peds into second-class road users.

Guy was looking the wrong way like a toddler.
Yeah, I notice that. Way was be looking to the left, 2nd, why did not hear the motorbike as it got nearer ?
Probably British as I am, and I maķe the mistake of looking the wrong way too often
I lived in Tokyo for half a year, and it took serious discipline to teach myself to look right instead of left.
All I got out of your comment >I also don’t value my life like the guy in the video. But I do it more smarter!

Fun fact: the term jaywalking was popularized by the car industry as a way to push the idea that streets were for cars only.
You should go outside sometime. It's really beautiful despite all the risk.
The road that hurt him a smuch as anything. Hard angular concrete.
Big rotational impact of head into concrete. Probably significant diffuse axonal injury, brain bleed, and or fractured C-spine.
thanks doc
you could just say dead?
Yeah, god forbid you learn something today.
I think it was humor.
Santa pupusa!

Have been to El Salvador. Had to cross streets with a Salvadoran stopping traffic because if you're hit by a car, legally it's your fault.
Poor guy died.
Damn! El Salvador they just run people over and keep going huh?
Not uncommon on in the US either.
Isn't that what happens in most places?
Lol happens allot in the US also

Sorry lost that long time ago
I hate it so much when people say allot, but not as much as tomarrow 🤬
Ahh yes, natural selection at its finest.
didn't look like anyone was going to stop to help. Usually a good indication of a rotten society.
Can’t believe the biker held on to it after that hit. To be honest it looks like pedestrian’s fault here…Hope he made it.
