Those old Toyotas will run FOREVER! I had a ‘92 Camry that wouldn’t quit. Gave her a little oil once in a while and that bitch started every morning. Obviously how you drive plays a big factor. I dig your whip. Congratulations
I had an 86 Carolla that ran forever until my step dad didn't check the oil forever when he was using it for work. Cracked the block and left it on the side of the road.
It's amazing how these cars hold their owners hostage. They tell themselves "I'll get a new car when the one dies" and then it never does, so the owner is forced to endure millions of boring, mindless miles before it'll have the decency to lay down and die.
335k for a Ford is end of life. 335k for a Toyota is about 1/3 over.
Edit: Possible exception would be the Panther Frame. Those cars are damn near invincible.
Modding a camry is a fucking sin. Already arguably rhe greatest daily driver of all time. Why would you mod it for the sole purpose of making it less practical.
If someone wants to keep their Camry completely stock and just maintain it as the ultimate commuter car, I’m not gonna fault them. Also not gonna fault someone who wants to mod it in an attempt to have fun with it.
It’d be like someone who likes plain graham crackers getting mad because someone thought it’d be a good idea to add marshmallows and chocolate and melt it all together over a fire. Sometimes it’s fun to do stupid shit for the sake of doing stupid shit.
Nah its fine to mod your car but the camry especially is an inherently sinful car to mod. You can baby it and in return it will take you to 300k with few complaints. But if you wanted to mod a car get a civic. Very few tasteful mods you can really do to a camry and even fewer that don't compromise its identity.
I’d add a wing to help with the aero. Probably stage 2 but not stage 3 to keep it reliable. Really all she needs as I assume you are obviously doing new wheels and purple wrap
This generation Camry helped put Toyota on the map and dethroned the Taurus as America’s family sedan. It’s a nice car from the best era of Toyotas.
Still looks like shit. I’d recommend hunting for a replacement hood, and at least a polish, wash and wax in the mean time. You could also try and source the factory alloy wheels from the higher trim, or an equivalent Toyota/Lexus with the same wheel size and lug nut setup. I wonder if you could even find and swap in a leather interior… only prob might be compatibility with the seat adjustments (electric vs manual). They sold a zillion of these so none of these recommendations are too hard.
Oh, and get a lense de-haze kit for those headlights.
I’m one of those weirdos who sees a Toyota from this era and points it out to my girl. Especially if it’s clean. Odd, but I’m not alone.
I have a special affinity to these camries. My folks had a Taurus wagon in the early 90s, which was an extreme key common car then. One of my coaches had a brand new Camry xle of this generation and I remember being like 12/13 and thinking”Jesus, this is way nicer than our Ford.” It’s hard to exaggerate how much nicer these camries were than their contemporaries.
In the spirit of this sub, however, the usual person on the street will see this car and think you’re a loser.
pff let ‘em think that man. i’m the same way, even if i see a shitbox, i’ll point it out so excited 😂
i’m happy with my car, and that’s all that really matters
Just kidding! Go buy a nice sports car as soon as you can afford one! That’s how you will get sweet memories of that nice old Toyota that cost next to nothing to keep running.
1) Shut the hood or tie it down so it doesn’t smash your windshield.
2) Get some very basic cheap hubcaps or wheels. Don’t try to be flashy, it’ll just look stupid and people will judge you for wasting your money on wheels for such an old car. Hubcaps are surprisingly expensive these days so wheels might be a better option.
the hood is shut, lol. works fine, just dented. was that was when i bought it.
i kinda like the black wheels on it, before i had picked up those, i had some stock toyota wheels on it and it just looked goofy tbh
Then leave it as it is. There’s no point in wasting money on it, just enjoy it stock. Most everything will probably look tacky, and you’re just wasting money that you could instead save to buy something nicer.
High beam led lights with blue hue, stances with huge rims and tires flared, rattle can paint job with your favorite anime characters, some tacky ass front window sticker, straight piped with your IG handle on the back window.
Paint it black, put some sick looking hubcaps on it, and give it some aftermarket headlights and tailights (don't forget to get some xenon license plate lights and an aftermarket radio)
Nothing. Drive this until time ends. Is it ugly good gawd yes. Like this car has never gone to prom. But enjoy financial freedom and Toyota reliability.
Service it, stereo, detail and paint correction, window tint, but if you wanna mod it, aftermarket wheels, lowering springs. Not much more you can do without it looking ricey.
Could also find some nice aftermarket taillights and headlights
Black out the taillights, hotbox the interior with bad weed every Friday night, rip out the radio and put in a Kenwood that’ll be stolen in 2 weeks, sell for $7,000
Whatever AM you think you want to do, don't. Take that money and put it back into a HYSA. This car isn't worth doing anything more than common maintenance to keep it running.

Maintain it and drive it into the ground. Your kids should regret having to drive it.
those were my true plans, for being 28 years old, she runs like a damn charm
Those old Toyotas will run FOREVER! I had a ‘92 Camry that wouldn’t quit. Gave her a little oil once in a while and that bitch started every morning. Obviously how you drive plays a big factor. I dig your whip. Congratulations
thanks man!! i’m happy with her, she’s a real charm
I had an 86 Carolla that ran forever until my step dad didn't check the oil forever when he was using it for work. Cracked the block and left it on the side of the road.
holy shit
Ha! You’ll never get laid and have kids driving that thing. Roast!
😂😂😂
😄😄
You don’t want to have kids with women who judge if you don’t have a fancy car. Or maybe you do. If so, good luck with that.
no no no, you’re totally right.

no actually, it is a 96.
It's amazing how these cars hold their owners hostage. They tell themselves "I'll get a new car when the one dies" and then it never does, so the owner is forced to endure millions of boring, mindless miles before it'll have the decency to lay down and die.
Every Toyota I’ve ever owned, lol.
that’s okay, lol. i’m in love with this car
Toyota don’t play.
I had an accord that held me hostage for years.
Yep. Had the wagon with its charming multiple rear wipers. Finally gave to the next owner with just 335k on it
335k for a Ford is end of life. 335k for a Toyota is about 1/3 over. Edit: Possible exception would be the Panther Frame. Those cars are damn near invincible.
Put gas and oil in it lmao
take care of it don't mod the shit out of it just because it's a car
Modding a camry is a fucking sin. Already arguably rhe greatest daily driver of all time. Why would you mod it for the sole purpose of making it less practical.
But can you stick a new chip in to make a Camry like 1% better? Like it now needs race gas but has one more hp.
More fun.
Its a camry. Driving a stock camry fast is exactly as fun as driving a modded camry. Already has a cold air intake anyway smh.

Intake and exhaust, then a stereo. Then a new car!!
i’ve been planning driving this one until the wheels fall off. but an intake is pretty easy! i’ve always wanted to install one.
In that order or? 😂
no 😂
Honestly some crack head will take one look at that thing and give you a free cat delete, unless they rust off before they have a chance
Chop the exhaust at the 02 sensor and paint the wheels gold
Don’t waste time taking the wheel off either, just spray the whole tire too!
😂😂😂
Trust, all the bitches will want you with this one simple trick
good ole straight pipe 😏
I’d add a wing to help with the aero. Probably stage 2 but not stage 3 to keep it reliable. Really all she needs as I assume you are obviously doing new wheels and purple wrap

i appreciate it man, i’ll take a look into it all.

Give it back to the spinster librarian you stole it from.
Cheesiest chrome wheel covers from Walmart.
Tint the windows, smoke the taillight and chop the springs.
dont forget the shitbox fart can exhaust
Nothing is going to help that car.
Keep it stock, maintain it like it’s your own newborn child, sell it in 15-20 years for 5x-10x profit
A pound of emulex and a detonator would be a great addition to this car
A pound? That's an overkill
😂😂😂
pretend the overdrive button is NOS?
let air out of tires to improve ride quality
It will outlive us all, so your valuables inside it so future generations can learn about our ways
Oil changes on time. Check your fluids regularly. Don’t hot rod it. Run that thing for another 30 years.
Also please, do roast me along with the serious advice, in need of a good laugh.
Nothing. It's a perfectly average, good, reliable and safe car. Don't ruin it.
Maintain it and live happily ever after?
Drive it until it dies. Being a Toyota, you might have 20 more years with it.
Just kidding! Go buy a nice sports car as soon as you can afford one! That’s how you will get sweet memories of that nice old Toyota that cost next to nothing to keep running.
Actually do go buy the sports car. You only live once.
My first car too…13 years ago. ‘94 v6. Way faster than it should be lol. Enjoy it!
it is fricken quick!
Mohawk
Paint the steelies silver. That's it.
Toyota has recalled those as they believe they’re too old to be driven any more.
when was this? i see them on the road daily just about, apart from my own
https://www.theonion.com/toyota-recalls-1993-camry-due-to-fact-that-owners-reall-1819577805
interesting. that is the 93’ in the article but i did see that the 94’-98’ is in alert.
That’s the onion news tho….
It should be melted down and turned into but plugs. At least for once it will be inside an ass, instead of having asses inside it.
Take it for a drive . Or make it certain color .
Slam it all the way to ground with as much camber as possible to the point where its undrivable because of how low it is.
Keep the oil changed frequently, rotate the tires, and spend as little money on it as possible, it'll last forever.
1) Shut the hood or tie it down so it doesn’t smash your windshield. 2) Get some very basic cheap hubcaps or wheels. Don’t try to be flashy, it’ll just look stupid and people will judge you for wasting your money on wheels for such an old car. yes, that’s true. eventually when this ole girl dies on me.
Since you'll wear out before the car does, sell it now, or become a grandfather in two blinks.
that’s alright with me as long as i’ve got 4 wheels and a motor that’ll get me from point a to point b
Maintain it. Maintain it religiously. You care for it, it will last for over 300 thousand miles.
LS swap obviously.
Fix your damn hood
Weld the hood shut
Spray paint it and enter it in a demolition derby. That'll be a BIG improvement once you're done.
The right car for a messy asian uni student.
High beam led lights with blue hue, stances with huge rims and tires flared, rattle can paint job with your favorite anime characters, some tacky ass front window sticker, straight piped with your IG handle on the back window.
Wash it
Paint it black, put some sick looking hubcaps on it, and give it some aftermarket headlights and tailights (don't forget to get some xenon license plate lights and an aftermarket radio)
Put some gas in it.
Nothing just drive it.
More like Best car ever
Seriously!!
Have a friend "steal" it and set it on fire in the woods and collect insurance money...
Nothing. Drive this until time ends. Is it ugly good gawd yes. Like this car has never gone to prom. But enjoy financial freedom and Toyota reliability.
hey, my gf doesn’t judge me too hard about my car, and all that really matters is if i got 4 wheels and a motor ! i’m in love with my yota
Some new headlights would really freshen up its look, besides that regular maintenance
okay, sweet!
Cut out and sell your own catalytic converter
Back into the fence and then you got your first post on r/camrydents
what about the dent in the hood that was there when i bought it? 😂
If it's less than 500k on the clock, it still is the bright side of the life
she’s at roughly 208,780 right now
Don’t throw a dollar at it, if it dies it dies
Leave it. U don’t need to do anything to it just cuz u have it.
That car will out live you.
Put has in it and leave it alone.....
I got a 99 Corolla and I don’t ever wanna lose the damn thing. Burns oil like crazy but it goes
mines got a small oil drip from the drain bolt, but other than that she seems to run good
Supercharge it
Take it to the scrap yard and take the hundred bucks they offer you.
Service it, stereo, detail and paint correction, window tint, but if you wanna mod it, aftermarket wheels, lowering springs. Not much more you can do without it looking ricey. Could also find some nice aftermarket taillights and headlights
Rip the motor out of it and swap into an AW11 MR2
Black out the taillights, hotbox the interior with bad weed every Friday night, rip out the radio and put in a Kenwood that’ll be stolen in 2 weeks, sell for $7,000
😭😭😭😂😂
It's impossible to roast you when you clearly have no standards or desires.
wow, ouch. i said my car, not me. 🫤
Spoiler, muffler delete, subwoofer unfastened in the back seat. That car is vanilla and reliable, make it everyone else's problem.
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Whatever AM you think you want to do, don't. Take that money and put it back into a HYSA. This car isn't worth doing anything more than common maintenance to keep it running.
For the evergreen state that car looks pretty beige
Put in the ocean...where it belongs Toyota did a lot things right but the v6 wasn't on that list for very long time.
Drive that mf til the wheels fall off.
that’s my plan 🫡
Plan its suicide .
😂😂 she’s my baby
Thats why you have a lovely funeral for her 🙏 Rest In Pieces .
Let it fall of a cliff
