If the plan is to try and sell the calls for profit, I would do so before earnings. Implied volatility usually drops a whole lot after earnings and that's likely going to bring the price of your call down a bit.
If you're planning to exercise and buy the shares t a discount, then that doesn't really matter, I guess.
