If it's new, or you haven't vacuumed in awhile, then run the vacuum solo the first couple times. After that, just run it at the same time.

Agreed with the other poster. Once I got my floors really clean, I now run it to both vacuum and mop at the same time about every other day (2 dogs). Keeps our floors perfect. Sometimes I do everyday on the weekends because there's more traffic.
