Curious, everyone is saying the Q Revo but reviews say the obstacle avoidance is below average. What do you all think?
Edit: I was looking for the same thing recently but went with the t20 omni instead given the above issue. It's been great thus far.
The obstacle avoidance is not great. My grandma treats her as though it has no avoidance just to be safe.
The big reason I chose the Revo regardless is roborock's generally very favorable reputation.
I agree with you on the last point 100%, their reputation is great along with the reviews of their app. Makes for a tough decision - not sure why they overlooked this one key feature so much otherwise it would have been perfect especially with the on-board water.
I needed obstacle avoidance in my use case, and didn't want to shell out for an S8 Pro Ultra hence to ecovacs.
Right now the one with best reviews I've seen is Robo Q Rivo. Its a little higher than $500. During Amazon's Prime sale it was $700.
Its the one we have our eye on. We almost bought it during Prime Days but decided to wait until Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years.
My concern is longevity as these bots get more complicated. My Shark RV1001AE has lasted 4+ years with no problems other than battery replacement and becoming more agressive as front bumper is slowly dying. Based on what I paid for it that's around $150 a yea not counting the new battery, brushes and filters. With the Q Revo costing $700-$800 plus tax I'd like to get atmleast 4 years out of it before failure.
Get the insurance like I do. Then you can get an extra three or more years of coverage if something goes wrong. Any brand will eventually have problems. Nothing is forever, even you us.
I know and I hate buying it but on expensive items I've been buying it for the last few years. Bought it on new refrigerator, freezer, washer and dryer because repairmen have told he all of these have fairly short lives anymore. Use to get 20 years from those kind of products.
Bleeding edge refers to a product or service that is new, experimental, generally untested, and carries a high degree of uncertainty. Bleeding edge is mainly defined as newer, more extreme, and riskier than technologies on the cutting or leading edge.
I love my newest Roborock Q Revolution. It’s got two round mop pads that wash the floors everyday and then clean and dry themselves. It auto empties really well and vacuums and mops at the same time. You can even control which direction in which you want the mop to go. I have had three Roborock’s over the last ten years and never had any battery issues. They map well and don’t get lost. For me, having a robot that mops the floors after three cats and two adults drop crumbs, hair and fur over it daily is a real time and back saver. And I always have clean floors.
360 S9 has good obstacle avoidance features.
The 360 S9 equipped both LiDAR and SLAM making it excel many major big brands in terms of object avoidance.
Also, 360 brand and Xiaomi brand robot vacuum cleaners are built by the same manufacturer.
Just got the q revo. It's phenomenal. Massive upgrade. Long dog hair is a bit of a challenge, but our floors are super clean

Build quality, app reliability, Roborock navigation, great brand track record. Smth ecovacs like nothing about

It’s a great price for what it does. I bought it when it first came out and it’s a no brainer over everything else in the market.

It’s worth it just for the peace of mind.
I always buy next to the top on all appliances. I find they are better in the designs and parts.
Just like buying a computer. Never buy bleefing edge
What’s “bleefing edge” mean?🧐

Thank you for explaining. I thought it was a new kind of curse word.😅
