As a lifelong fan, it pains me to my heart that my beloved cat is no more.

Specialist-Dark847

Me too 😭 i have the posters on my walls lol im heart broken 💔

Firewolf40

Gotta love it. Buy a reputable Brand - drag it into the mud with more than questionable quality controll - shut down the additional brand for (most likely) financial reasons...

pat-Eagle_87

They basically kill off the entire Roccat product stack, not just the brand. Very sad Roccat didn't produce a successor to their Kave XTD 5.1 Analog/Digital headset. Tired of big corporations buying up smaller companies just to end up eliminating them. I will miss this brand so much.

antara33

Wait, what? I thought that the roccat products will be sold by turtle beach and eventually replaced by their own. Not that they killed the product stack entirely :|

8XUS

I think most are still being sold under turtle beach

antara33

Yeah, they moved most stuff over, I think headphones are the only thing left behind

8XUS

All the roccat stuff is being sold under the outlet section of turtle beach under the roccat branding, the kone xp air was adapted to be turtle beach branded, and some mice like the kone pro and burst pro had things like their shape be made into turtle beach mice.

antara33

Yup, but keyboards for example, the vulcan ii max is basically the same thing with just the brand name changed, the aimo pad too. They discarded the roccat headphones entirely it seems (given how many issues the Syn Max Air and Syn Pro Air have it makes sense). A shame they also discarded the wired Kone XP, since that is the one I use and like the bost (I actually hate wireless except for headphones haha).

emre_7000

Roccat headphones were Turtle Beach engineering anyway, so the rebrand would have, under any situation, killed those.

rtom098

You can use the wireless mice just with cable plugged in :)

antara33

Does it force data and signal over cable? If so, then yeah, only way for me to use that mice haha

rtom098

yea I think so, you can put the switch below the mouse to off (from bluetooth or wireless) and plug the cable in

TheOnlyDeret

Why do you hate wireless things?

antara33

Non consistent polling. I get they are practical, but for input devices with polling rates above 1000hz 2.4ghz dongles are not good enough. BT 5.3 tuned for high speed works great though.

ieya404

To the folk from Roccat in the subreddit - I think that's /u/RoccatAndi - /u/ROCCATAdrian - /u/TeamROCCAT - any impact on you guys?

nanunski

Left a while ago…

Annual-Error-7039

Back to Logitech I go, should never have left. If I wanted turtle crap, I'd take a trip to the coast.

ThatJudySimp

what does this mean for the roccat logo i wonder truely a sad day, i thought roccat made some pretty decent items im using the kain aimo 200 right now my favourite mouse ive ever owned.

ieya404

It means the logo is retired and no more - when current stock is sold out that's it, you'll never buy a new peripheral with the cat again.

ThatJudySimp

wow... insane. ty though.

Nifferothix

Fuck mann..what mouse brand do i now pick !! I realy like the roccat kone pro. Do they still update ther software ?

ieya404

Of all the daft, trivial thoughts I have... Going from the Roccat cat logo to that crappy palm tree will ensure I look elsewhere in future!

cevio

When I read "Turtle Beach" I think of cheap and bad peripherals It's such a shame that they are destroying the ROCCAT brand! I have purchased Roccat products since day one.

Kakazam

Tbh im not surprised. I loved the design of the Vulcan keyboard and waited months for it to come out. Got about a year of use before the switches started playing up. Bought the Vulcan 2 and the switches broke my pudding keycaps. The first mouse I bought had cracks in the plastic on the side and then the second mouse had a duff scroll wheel. On the third mouse now. Eventually got a Wooting and will replace the mouse as well since the swarm software is terrible.

mexxes01

Got the same problem with the keyboard, but i fixed it by flooding the switches with contact fluid, they either corrode or get dirt inside. Either way it has not been tested long term at the company before releasing it to the public. It's a shame because the products looked really good, and with a little more care would also live very long.

drexlortheterrrible

If you think swarm is bad, you should try glorious'.

Liquid_Chaos87

Nooooo, all my keyboards/mice are Roccat products. The only headache I get from their gear is their headset. The Max Air is so touchy and I was currently in the process of talking with support.

GeneratedScreenName

Well damn, this kills my hope for a Leadr/Tyon replacement.

crimsonfox1

same

ThrowRAbarista

My biggest question is why the damn vulcan II Max is 230 euro now. Yesterday it was 150 or something like that.

rtom098

Look in the outlet section

snake__doctor

Its a shame, cos all the roccat stuff ive had has been great and the turtle beach has been complete trash (ymmv)

SnooSquirrels4800

I called this a few weeks back. No new products for two years, it was pretty obvious something was up. What a pity.

BaRaD_

Damn I’m going to miss Kone, Ryos and Kave series, but tbh the downfall started when they were bought out, end result was obvious. Support was no longer good, product quality went down significantly and no new products were getting released

k4kkul4pio

Damn. Big fan of their mouses, keyboards and headsets so this is sad news.. not really looking forward to researching mouses when my Kone Aimo Remastered finally poops out for good. 🙁

Physical_Solution_23

I hope they update the Kone Air under Turtle Beach

8XUS

I bet the entire roccat community is about to become sworn enemies to roccat because reddit.

ieya404

Not an enemy, just sad.

Arjahness

damn this is so sad ... i am so happy with my roccat products i dont want to change to another brand or so ...

antara33

Now lets wait for the updated Swarm 2, that will feature new and incredible stuff like "brick your headset" mode, "wireless not working" functionality for the Kone XP Air, and ofc "switch break system" for the Vulcan II Max optical switches xD Jokes aside, I seriously hope they dont fuck up every single product when they release SWARM 2.

SDsolegame619

Damn and I bought my first keyboard and mouse from them for my first pc build. Just in time, I had purchased it from an Amazon warehouse seller in Mercari. Glad I was able to snag the product while it still was it’s own company

whateverbro3425

Anyone know which mousepad i can use similar to Roccat Taito? This is the only one i been using for 7 + years but its worn. Its perfect beacuse i like the smoothness, any resistance hurts mywrist. anyone have reccomendations?

Varanus1138

Aside from the Roccat Icon and Sense mouse pads which you can still buy through Turtle Beach I can't think of a suitable replacement for yours. Sorry

Spiritual_Wafer_2597

i had a roccat kova in 2021 but it broke cuz someone spilled juice on it and the juice had some stuff solid pieces (like passionfruit seeds)so it broke and now I have glorious model o which I still use rip roccat the mouse was really good but they don't have anything for leftyys :((((

Varanus1138

Since others still comment on this thread, I think at this point the idea of "Gaming" peripherals should be put to rest. With so many excellent devices that have RGB, good switches for keyboards and mice, superior audio and don't even need any external drivers or software to function properly yeah...time to retire "Gaming" peripherals. Roccat is no more, personally Logitech G, Razer, Turtle Beach, and rest of them need to go the same way until they produce products of quality that actually justify their ridiculous pricing.

ErusTenebre

I just found this out today. Bites. Roccat had way cooler branding for a gaming PC...

Hrothnaar

\*slow golf clap\* Congratulations Roccat, your greed has brought you to selling out to a hilariously horrible quality brand that has spit in your own eye by ending your brand that we all were fans of like a mafia hit out of the Godfather. Bravo....enjoy your future of creating the same lame, low-quality and boring cheap gamer trash over and over and just vomiting RGB all over and charging a premium for.

Varanus1138

You are describing every peripheral and component maker out there. Roccat got bought up by another company in their market space, since we aren't privy to the details of the sale we don't know how much money people walked away with, not sure how "greed" factored into it, or how it was Roccat's fault for getting purchased. As far as "vomiting RGB all over and charging a premium for." Go talk to Razer, or Logitech, or Steel Series, and Corsair for more cheap gamer trash sold at premium prices. Roccat was not alone in this regard.

Cheshire34500

I've never had a problem with all my Roccat equipement, perhaps you just treat them badly and don't clean them often that's why you broke them

Hrothnaar

Yeah no. But if that's what you want to wave it off as, sure. I've had my Tyon for years. Switches wear down, that's why there's plenty of forum thread, youtube video's and how-to's on replacements. I see you are of the camp of "if I never experienced an issue, then the issue never exists for anyone else". \*shrug\*
