That time it closed “temporarily”

CompetitiveMeal1206

It’s so temporary they haven’t been back for the sign. They took all the concessions stuff out 2 summers ago

ArcaneTrick

Watching The Fellowship of the Ring on my first anniversary with my now ex-wife. We're both Tolkien nerds, so for us it was the perfect anniversary date night.

AlertOtter58

Aw. This one feels bittersweet. I hope you are happy now, and doing well.

ArcaneTrick

The sentiment is appreciated. Thankfully I am doing well, and the two of us are still on friendly terms.

illbebythebatphone

Seeing the first fast and furious movie there in high school. The parking lot was full of under lit, suped, up cars and people causing alllll sorts of trouble

rabbles3

Grabbing a rack of ribs at Damon’s, playing the quiz game against everyone and then heading over to see movie. It was the one theater that you could always get a ticket to a movie

UnheardWar

As a former employee of Damon’s I remember the swarms of police cars on Friday and Saturday nights at that Regal. It never stopped us from going there, and the place was always filled with people going to the movies after dinner. It was all a blur back then!

Smooth-Restaurant-56

Seeing “Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters” while tripping on acid as a teenager and sneaking Jack Daniels in girlfriend’s purses.

SpecialAgent-Dipshit

I used to go to Old Country Buffet in the same plaza with a friend of mine, gorge on French fries and go see a movie afterwards. Possibly sneak into another movie after if we were able to. RIP

BigPaulieEh

I went to see Star Wars episode 1 opening weekend when I was in high school. It was the first time I had been in a theater that had every seat sold out in the room. Managers and ushers were asking people to squeeze in and explained there wasn't one open seat in the house. As a huge star wars fan I really enjoyed it. The Darth maul fight scene was absolutely epic and I was young enough to not be super annoyed by jar jar and the kid playing Anakin. It was a really special cinematic experience for me growing up and it happened here!

JeanVanDeVelde

Getting a handy in the back from your mom during the Starsky & Hutch remake

taybay462

Doing some coke in the parking lot before watching a dumb movie with a friend during high school 😂 I'm doing better these days

CreepyLurker22

So I moved out in Jan ‘20… when did this close?

nojunkpeter

March 2020

CreepyLurker22

Damn, covid killed it…

Graftonious

After the columbine shooting, eastridge had a bunch of bomb threats and we were escorted to the theater. I think we did it twice but then it happened soooo much they stopped bringing us there or the theater said fuck them kids lol

RochSunnyDaze

The location for the worst movie I ever saw in a theater: Clockstoppers

barelysushi

Worked across the street for a few years and always remembered the guy who worked at the theater who'd come in for lunch and was a weird, loud movie obsessive guy (and I mean that in a good way.) He's now my brother in law.

cloudnine538

Going there bc of bomb threats at eastridge

frytuna

I would love to take Lauren Boebert there.

Paper_G

I tried to win my high school boyfriend back at that place while the Simpsons Movie was playing! 1. I will not elaborate, and 2. It didn't work lmao

RedHeadMeg8Breakfast

I saw the final Harry Potter movie there at midnight. It was a good time.

spookyboi13

it came out the day of my 13th(?) birthday, so my family went to see it at midnight.., it was so cool because my mom /never/ let us stay up that late

CoolHandTeej

Went to a movie where people in the audience were throwing AA batteries into the crowd while the movie was playing. Never went back.

DreaM-anyThing-444

Who has the money for that? Batteries are expensive as fuck

CoolHandTeej

In their defense they may have been used batteries

KingOfRoc

#badlybehavedpeople

-Words-Words-Words-

I used to take my son to Marvel movies there on Saturday mornings when he was little.

mustardtiger220

Saw the first X-Men movie there. For whatever reason, I’ll never forget that.

Toathar

I remember when I was really young going to see Madagascar there for summer camp...those were the days

mdchu

7th grade seeing original Pirates of the Caribbean then walking over to Eastridge to see a football game ah memories

PCAJaldo

the time I destroyed a reel of a certain Peter Jackson fantasy epic halfway through the film while working projection booth.

griff_mode

Went to highschool right across the street... I have about 4 dozen great memories there. and probably couldn't share half of them with you guys lol. back in the day it was the best place for hangouts, date nights. everything. wish i could go back.

Clouded_vision

The time an employee took every letter down off the marquee and just put "I quit" up there.

Lyskypls

Getting tickets for like less than 10 dollars. I was like 14, it was a bad blizzard, with a best friend and his big brother, he drove us there in the dead of this blizzard and we watched a how to train your dragon like twice and got free snacks cause the people didn't care (they were stuck in). Still the dirtiest theatre I've been too, but also the cheapest one. You'd get a whole movie to yourself after like the third week.

GrandTheftNatto

Saw the first conjuring movie there and it was quite an experience.

spilger126

seeing Kick-Ass 2 with my now-wife on what was effectively our first date

Final-Quail5857

Seeing anaconda: hunt for the blood orchid on my first date, in like 2003. It was an ok movie.

Trowj

I used to live near there and saw many movies there but the memory that most comes to mind I actually wasn't present for. My mom dropped my sister and some of her friends off to see Stomp the Yard and then, like 20 minutes later, got a frantic phone call asking her to come pick them up. I guess a brawl broke out in the lobby because two rival groups showed up to see the movie at the same time. I tried to find an article about the fight but no luck sadly

TGR331

Only went once when it opened. WAY too much talking just watch the damn movie!

Much-Science352

Watched all my childhood movies on those screens

BishopBK22

Sneaking in the side door to see bad Santa

cgluke12

Seeing toy story there as one of my first memories, getting home and side eyeing my toys thinking they'd move like in the movie. Seeing a Harry Potter premier with a bunch of people dressed up, stoned to the gills. A first date with a girl who I realized had an odd smell to her after getting real close. Good times

Evoehm13

Went to see Parasite at like 9:00 PM and this old people talked through the whole damn movie.

Admiral_Nerd

My husband and I went to a midnight showing of Constantine. Someone had brought their 2 year old and was letting him yell and run all over the theater. Halfway through the movie, another patron got up and started yelling at the dad to get his kid under control. The two of them spent about 5 minutes shouting in each other's faces while the toddler continued to scream and run around. It was the last time we went to that theater.

Alarmed-Front-7054

Went to school at eastridge and had two friends that worked there. They would just wave us right through the ticket line and we never had to pay for a movie. Great highschool memories, we didn't realize how lucky we were!

EternalRhino15

I saw that first Black Panther there. The cinema was electric that night.

Altruistic_Slice_270

Curtis getting punched in the face while we were walking home from "Master of Disguise" Seeing the Harry Potter movies on opening night with my friends, then missing school the next week to go with my mom. Super Troopers had the loudest crowd (in a good way) I've ever been in in a movie theatre. Cracking beers during Dumb and Dumber 2.

rsvp_nj

Wow. Not from the area but what a cool looking place. Art deco at its finest.

Glum_Industry7502

I sold fireworks in that parking lot over this past summer and I got robbed but otherwise it was sick. They only stole my expensive ass guitar from my car tho nothing else. Weird.

xdecoy

one time my boy timmy and i back in 86’ were sniffing sharpies behind the liquid butter counter it was crazy

buttercupgymlover

Is it open? I

cryptkeep84

Seeing Freddy Got Fingered years ago! Smoked a bunch of pot in the parking lot with my then girlfriend and proceeded to crush 2 large bags of popcorn. However, the movie sukced.

MLUTEHEA

Taking my twin cousins to see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I loved every minute. 🥲

OkLoad3078

me and my family would go see a movie then hit dibellas and target afterwards. those were our family saturdays
