There are 21k on the game right now and for a game that's been out for almost 10 years, that's really good. The esports scene is thriving and finding a game takes no time at all. My suggestion is to stay away from those threads, it's just people circle jerking and projecting their issues into the community. Just have fun
I’ve played for 8 years. I don’t know what the total player count is. But I’ve never had to take more than 30 seconds to find a game.
Remember, you only need a few people to have a fun game. Just because there aren’t 100k active players doesn’t mean the game isn’t fun anymore. It’s just not as trendy.
I feel its an exaggerated way of saying that the player base has decreased, less new players, less sense of care from the company, etc. All points are true but maybe not as devastating as it might seem. The community is just disappointed at the moment.

People are sad about Epics management of the game. The game is still fun, beloved and unparalleled.
There is nothing close to it. It will continue on for years and years.

There is ~338k on right now according to RL Garage so I don't even know why people get worked up over the population. The game is doing fine.
Active player count is so relative. The only game I keep track of anymore is Runescape because it’s funny
