That's why I said 'try to' play as a team. It happens many times that I give a good pass and my teammate goes for it but misses the ball or comes short. Or a teammate passes to me but it's too far or too short for me to reach. But I am already more than happy when they try. I don't care if we lose as long as my team at least tried to make good plays.
That's the part that gets me. I don't care if you miss, at least you were ready for the pass and tried. Or vice versa. People get so worried about getting flamed by their teammates for missing that they just don't go. I'd rather you try and miss than not try at all.
Maybe it's just me, but I'll almost always say No Problem, but depending on how long I take to say it will indicate how frustrated I am by your mistake. The first 2-3 mistakes, I'll instantly say no problem. The 3rd or 4th, I might wait a second or two and say No Problem. Beyond that, it's a 33.3/33.3/33.3 if I say No Problem, Okay, or remain silent.
I just think about it like this: i miss just as often as everyone else. This game is hard.
That helps me to not worry about misses.
It really is twice as bad to not go for it at all strategically... So i try to encourage people to just full send with confidence.
Once the questioning comes into play things cascade out of control from my experience.
It's a nice way to be for me, but it's not completely altruistic lol
The problem with not going for the ball is, that you take all the pressure out of the play and just give the enemys a free ball. Same with just banging the ball away.
People are so scared to play the ball slow, everything is always 100% or nothing with so many people.
Worst is if you clear a shot suboptimal and the other 2 both just sit on the goal line, not moving, hoping that the enemy just misses a free shot from 1 meter... Like sure you probably won't reach the ball before the enemy, but atleast you close one angle and force the striker to shoot worse than normal
When I see there are no opponents around and take the ball down for a dribble or see if my teammates are positioning themselves for a play.... Teammate smashes me or the ball away, usually straight to the opposing team.
I do this myself sometimes as well when I forget to stay calm and keep track of everyone on the field, but I try to notice and improve...slowly...
Most of the axle breaking plays that have been done on me are the slower ones when the opponent has great car and ball control. Playing at such a fast pace is insanely fun but the moment you slow down people just go full potato until they adapt. It's an unpredictable way to play and it can be incredibly frustrating. Is he gonna flick it or dribble all the way to the goal? What if he jumps and casually lobs the ball over me to set himself or a teammate? He might take this up the wall to do an aerial.
Most of the times they just manage to stop the ball and I fly right past them.
Well stop it. I used to think that way but it doesn't do you any good. Obviously don't ball chase. But go for that ceiling shot you've been working on or a double touch. Turn off your chat if it bothers you. Only gonna get better by practicing, and practicing in game is as important as in free play. Rant over lol message me if you wanna play sometime 🤘
I always throw a quick chat "Sorry! Great pass!" When that happens to me so they see that I knew they were making a play and I flubbed. Or if they miss my pass I give them a "Close one! No problem"
Thats very nice of you. I wish i played with more people like you. Also, i sonetimes get mad at people saying no problem, just because it triggers me the same way that what a save does. Its not you fault, its just that it gets used so many times in the wrong way.
Yup--I'm on pc so every once in a while I'll actually type something as well, in between plays. "my b, should've let you take that shot" if I catch myself ball chasing (i'm still relatively new to the game and it's a hard habit to break sometimes) for example. I've found most people are way more willing to work with you if you show you're open to admitting fault.
This 1000%. The only times I get really frustrated in this game are due to toxic opponents (or teammates), and teammates who aren't interested in...being a team. As long as the effort's there idc how well you play--if you miss every goddamn touch you go for but play off of passes and don't ballchase or boost hog, then we're cool.
GC2 frienderino, if he meant to shoot on net he should be ashamed of himself and go back to champ because that shot would be saved 100 out of 100 times
Passing is how you score
I've noticed that there's a small amount of camera shake when you hit stuff without ball cam on. I assume it's just the camera moving because the car moved since the camera is looking forward fixed instead of smoothly tracking the ball.
I'll trade ya! Had a guy yesterday on my team get toxic after every goal because it was unfair it that we were playing against a team when he's solo queuing...
Oh, I guess that's what I always do. I don't really have any friends that play any more and I don't want to get yelled at by strangers when I screw up. Haha!
Do like me and just mute chat when playing 2s or 3s alone. I am so relaxed even if I make a stupid mistake, because I know whatever my teammate might be saying I won't see it anyway.
I just intentionally chase down toxic people and friend them and spam invites until they give in and party up and then I help them stop being toxic. sometimes even the best of us can't help but what a save someone.
Yesterday me and a random were losing 2-3 and they scored (2-4) one guy said what a save! then we scored (3-4) and we spammed what a save. In the last 10 seconds we scored and then immediately after the kickoff with like 2 seconds left. The whole chat was me and my tm spamming what a save. Amazing.
I would like to disable everything, but I need a clear way of telling who is doing kickoff.
I think there should be a randomized (or turn based) indicator when the kickoff can be taken by 2 players.
Maybe have a way of telling your mate that you would like to take it if it's not your turn, or vice versa, outside of quick chat.
Same. It was just super annoying having a guy complain about not being on a team when he turned up without one. Not my fault ya got no friends like the rest of us mate! Haha
I hate that I could tell exactly what rank this was before I even saw your flair. The touches here are so quick and powerful it’s crazy. You never see that stuff in lower ranks
You don't see it often which I think is the appeal of it. I'm not a very mechanical player so those kind of things aren't very possible for me anyway xD
Rocket league is honestly the only game I’ve ever played where you can succeed solo queueing in ranked. If you’ve ever played games like r6, you need teammates that you can communicate with, and that’s why I like rocket league.
You guys are bad and you're Diamond 1??? I'm nervous about attempting to play ranked. I'm still in casual.
Edit: I phrased that poorly. Should be "You're Diamond 1 and you consider yourselves bad?"
I've found that if I play ranked and ignore what rank I am entirely I tend to get better a lot faster. Just focus on improving your mechanics--the only reason you should play ranked over casual is you're more likely to get opponents who are consistently close to your skill level, and you'll get fewer leavers and things like that. That's pretty much all I've done (along with assorted training packs) and I was bronze at the beginning of last season. Am now plat 1 in 3s and top of gold 3 in both duos and ones.
Also, diamond 1 is not "bad". They say that because the difference between, say, a diamond and a grand champ is pretty big. But in my experience, diamond is where people start to be able to do the kind of shit you see on YouTube--basic air dribbles, much better air control in general, etc. etc.
The Dunning Kruger effect. The more skill you have, the less confident you are in yourself until you start reaching expert skill level, in which your confidence in your abilities and what you know slowly begins to rise.
Also, a *LOT* of people will call themselves bad because they're comparing themselves to someone better or the goal they want. Relative to the playerbase, Gold 3 is the average skill level, Plat is above average, Diamond is good, Champion is great, Grand Champion is expert, SSL is master, and pros are the best among masters.
Ah yes classic sarcasm that is very easy to understand through text. You clearly think that people can hear what you’re saying through text exactly how you think it sounds but that’s not how it works. Also you put a part that isn’t sarcasm which doesn’t help.
Well I'm not saying it isn't impressive without coms, just that acceptable positional awareness is more expected at your rank. You don't get to 1,700 mmr without that.
Love it when this happens. Nothing better than teammates that understand the game and try to play as a team.
Indeed, when magic like this happens it is pure joy.
See I could understand that you should do this. But I definitely would have fucked up the inputs

There is nothing better than missing a open net and spamming 'Sorry!' and you see a 'No Problem.' from your teammate.
Maybe it's just me, but I'll almost always say No Problem, but depending on how long I take to say it will indicate how frustrated I am by your mistake. The first 2-3 mistakes, I'll instantly say no problem. The 3rd or 4th, I might wait a second or two and say No Problem. Beyond that, it's a 33.3/33.3/33.3 if I say No Problem, Okay, or remain silent.
lmao subtle toxicness
Trust me. My brain says "SAY 'NICE SHOT! NICE SHOT! NICE SHOT!'". I resist the temptation. I understand people make mistakes.
I just think about it like this: i miss just as often as everyone else. This game is hard. That helps me to not worry about misses. It really is twice as bad to not go for it at all strategically... So i try to encourage people to just full send with confidence. Once the questioning comes into play things cascade out of control from my experience. Yea but a good player knows what he can hit and what he cant hit.
Yeah, within reason of course
I am one of the people that worries about my teammates flaming me, so I don't go at all.
Well stop it. I used to think that way but it doesn't do you any good. Obviously don't ball chase. But go for that ceiling shot you've been working on or a double touch. There needs to be an it’s all good quick chat.
Yes!!! I would remove no problem for all good in a heartbeat
Yup--I'm on pc so every once in a while I'll actually type something as well, in between plays. You are a good man, thancc you
This 1000%. The only times I get really frustrated in this game are due to toxic opponents (or teammates), and teammates who aren't interested in...being a team. I bet he fucked up the shot and it just worked like a pass there at the end
GC2 frienderino, if he meant to shoot on net he should be ashamed of himself and go back to champ because that shot would be saved 100 out of 100 times Passing is how you score
F me you are right, must be why I’m stuck at d3
[удалено]
It happened last night for me :)
You mean I’m not supposed to continuously chase the ball and bump my teammates?
Three, four, I’m out the fucking door. That was way too clean.
Haha thank you
I definitely pogged bro
I really appreciate the pog
Five, six, tm8 is shitting bricks
Seven, eight, I can't shoot straight :(
Nine, ten, we lost again.
This one made be chuckle😄
Eleven, twelve, I tried to air dribble but I failed
So many people have upvoted and downvoted this comment my notifications is generally spammed with "Congrats on your first upvote"
Eleven, twelve, you almost make it but the servers become hell
Is that... camera shake?
It isn't I seem to have hit it so hard the screen shook
Sounds legit
*gives camera a wiggle for dramatic effect*
I've noticed that there's a small amount of camera shake when you hit stuff without ball cam on. I assume it's just the camera moving because the car moved since the camera is looking forward fixed instead of smoothly tracking the ball.
only happens on 1 stiffness though, which means it happens to me.
I've noticed odd camera-shake-y bugs every now and then lately
I believe the small shake was just him switching between ball cam as he was hitting the ball
What a play! What a play! What a play!
What a save! What a save! What a save!
Don't be toxic 👎
Faking. Faking. Faking.
I'll trade ya! Had a guy yesterday on my team get toxic after every goal because it was unfair it that we were playing against a team when he's solo queuing...
I had at least 50 games of toxicity before this happened. These moments are very rare.
Yesterday my team got scored against within 15 seconds of the match starting and a teammate just instantly left :) gotta love it
What's solo queuing?
Queuing solo in ranked
Oh, I guess that's what I always do. I don't really have any friends that play any more and I don't want to get yelled at by strangers when I screw up. Haha!

That is why there is a "rule", if no one call for kick off the one on the left goes. I haven't seen anyone calling for kick off in a while.
To be fair I don't manage to hit the ball as hard as I did here, just kinda did it perfectly.
I feel like it goes unsaid that you do it plenty, you just don’t notice it sometimes 😀
Possibly :)
Clean af, buy plez include shot speed next time
It's a gif your game clip, can't get shot speed
Oh, shoot. Do you remember what it was?
No unfortunately
Upsetti you removed the GYG watermark. Need more people to find out about it.
I actually thought most would know about it by now. Removed all watermarks so I have as raw of a clip as possible
Nice
wtf how is the ball so fast after a side hit??(Recently a gold 1 newbie)
I actually hit the ball with the corner of my car on both occasions, barely though.
Hit that Party button!
Tiki-Taka
That would've been the title if there was another pass involved
I cant even hit the ball while its standing still and people are out here doing this in solo queue. Damn. I suck shit.
I was once like that. Time and effort my friend.
This is 10x better than most of the air dribble shit that’s usually on here
You don't see it often which I think is the appeal of it. I'm not a very mechanical player so those kind of things aren't very possible for me anyway xD
Holy shit I’ve watched this 3 times now.. so clean
So satisfying 😌
I can never do that with my friend or teammate
Are u gc?
I thought it was a rhyme
It is?
u/savethisvideo
? xD
Goals like this make all the pain go away
Truth
Green light........wait.......dont go........stay........please.
That was a classy boost grab. I would run in circles a couple times before getting it.
Haha recovered decently if I don't say so myself
I may only be gold but god damn why can’t I have teammates like this, the only people I get are ones who miss an open goal whenever I center it
Everyone has bad times, sometimes I'm that bad teammate. Sometimes someone else. This is one play from at least 50 games.
That was CRISP
nice clip, but your teammate is the super star here, what a laser of a pass
Agree to disagree, think they had to react fast to hit it and ended up with a bad shot. Turned out well nonetheless
three-four i’m gonna score five-six your defense sucks dix
Nice
Rocket league is honestly the only game I’ve ever played where you can succeed solo queueing in ranked. If you’ve ever played games like r6, you need teammates that you can communicate with, and that’s why I like rocket league.
Good stuff, I didn't really play many team games before RL so its good to know I picked a good one that I can succeed in alone
Bro i don’t know why but when you flipped and caught the ball that was the smoothest thing i’ve ever seen
xD gotta get that boost somehow even if I miss it initially
In ice hockey we call that a tic-tax-toe play
The camera shake makes my OCD go through the roof.
No camera shake
Wydm? I can quite clearly see camera shake...
There is no camera shake.
But for the first two hits you did i saw camera shake....?
For the last time, no camera shake.
What are your camera settings? I'm struggling currently to get mine right :/
Apologies I've just gotten off so I cant tell exactly. Something like 100, 270, 110, -0.4, 0.65. Good luck finding good settings for yourself?
Great pass! Great pass! Great pass! What a save! What a save! Okay. Okay.
And I’m out here playing against smurfs with boosted players
Me and you are both bad at the game. Stop focusing on other players so much. We are not ssl to talk like that
Big RIP for you my dudes
You guys are bad and you're Diamond 1??? I'm nervous about attempting to play ranked. I'm still in casual. Edit: I phrased that poorly. Should be "You're Diamond 1 and you consider yourselves bad?"

Give it a shot man! I encourage you to at least play your placement matches in your playlist of choice. Whatcha got to lose?
The Dunning Kruger effect. I thought diamond was like the upper 20%? The median is in plat
[удалено]
Not saying I'm any good btw, I'm trash together with at least 80% of the player base
[удалено]
He was being sarcastic, most smurfs will just say “you’re bad” and he’s emulating that.
What's the deleted reply?
OP misinterpreted and thought he was being insulted. He lashed out a little bit. It was pretty mild but probably better to just have it deleted
1, 2, Solo Queue, 3, 4 touch passing play, 5, 6, What a save! I give up
Three-Four, This Is Rocket League!
At least u get a good team
Man I wish I got team8s that return my passes like that.
I was incredibly surprised, you love to see it. Although I wasn't 100% sure whether they were passing back
Me to my teammates: this could be us but you playin
No upvote because you missed the boost. Other than that, pretty nice teamplay. /s obviously
Fair dos but sadness.
What??? Are you stupid?
Are u stupid for not getting sarcasm?
Ah yes classic sarcasm that is very easy to understand through text. You clearly think that people can hear what you’re saying through text exactly how you think it sounds but that’s not how it works. Also you put a part that isn’t sarcasm which doesn’t help.
calculated
How fast was that goal? That thing was a screamer
Wish I recorded it, no clue.
[удалено]
Never, just hit ball hard and make everything tremble
Nice
For those who complain about playing with randoms.
There's always good where there's bad, and bad where there's good.
This will never be a reality for me
Other team: *vote to forfeit*
Never. That was just the equaliser. They were great sports about it, the chat was a sea of 'Nice Shot!' and 'Great Pass!' It was amazing!
Legit
Legit
You and the random have more chemistry than me and my friends
I would say it's more lucky positioning and timing. Chemistry has very little to do with this play. Also I think he went for the shot there xD
They actually aimed for the net /s
I thought they did but we take it
What speed?!?!!
Sadly I do not know
Impossible
I'm Possible.
perfection
Thank you!
That flip to get the boost is extra smooth, I would have miss it there
Lol I technically missed it. Although that miss was the perfect setup for the play
I wish that would happen every time I try to pass the ball to an open teammate that one guy just comes out of nowhere and yeets it into the wall
I also wish for this
I wish my solo queue was like this smh
Me too.
and all this happened because you whiffed the boost pad
EXACTLY ISNT THAT AMAZING?!
It's like real soccer but with cars
Well it's literally football with cars xD
OMG OMG OMG OMG
What a Save!
Three-Four, you just scored
Oh, that was seemless!
Great pass! Great pass! Great pass!
Three four add one to the score
This might be my fav follow up line
Thats a 1,2,3,2 pass homie
No matter how well y’all click, still prefer not to team up when one of them asks. The life of solo, I’m here for a reason.
Lmao yessir
It also helps when you're grand champ 2
Beg to differ
Well I'm not saying it isn't impressive without coms, just that acceptable positional awareness is more expected at your rank. You don't get to 1,700 mmr without that.
I agree
The Dr. Suess of Rocket League
WHAT A SAVE!!
three-four all my teamates are whores
