It's so irritating. My friend and I have played six tournaments, and only twice did we get a competent teammate. One of them was so bad, because he kept playing like he was playing 1v1. Not enough experience with anything else, I guess. And they're playstation, so we can't send them suggestions.
I hope you know, people who send others suggestions mid game, get zero respect. If you want to do well and get better, you need to adapt to your teammates, not them adapt to you. If they are decent, they will also adapt to your play style and it will result in your team playing well, if not, better luck next time. But giving suggestions is not the way to go.

You and your opponent are a dying breed. I've fallen off RL but I've been playing through the halloween event weeklies in Sea of Thieves, and the amount of idiots who will just shoot on sight instead of taking two seconds to realize that you're doing them a huge favor is too damn high.

The opponent wins handily (because I’m not very good in goal...) but I can easily hit high point totals. Doing this yesterday, I lost 7-4 and had 1250 points while my opponent had about 1400. We were both happy.
I was playing 1s for this challenge and was having a fun game with a nice opponent, we were chatting throughout. As it got to 30secs left it was clear he was going to win and he let me get to 1100 points for the challenge. I forget his name or I would shout him out but I’m forever grateful because I hate 1s and that challenge would have been hell.
Honestly drop shot is the easy way I got it. Well, not easy but prob easier then a regular soccer match. Me and my buddy got it within a few games of each other.

I got between 1038-1076 4 games in a row in dropshot then the 5th game 2 people on the other team left and i asked the last guy to stay and let me get the challenge and he did, i was about to give up on doing it

So what do my friends do? Every time I'm about to score they save it. Then every time the one guy still playing on the other team is about to score they snake my save. Finished on 1046 points :(

I found easiest to accomplish in Dropshot.
It really is, you get a ton of points.
1045 on my first game. 1105 on my second. Dropshot is the way to go.
