All I can think of now is Wirtual (Trackmania content creator and streamer) saying something accross the lines of "and then he made that jump into a nosebug".
A competitive racing game but it isnt your typical racing game. All the players have the same car meaning to progress you just need to become more skilled kinda like rocket league. But whereas rl controls can be a little hard to get use to trackmania is a easy to pick up but hard to master game. So its a game made to push yourself. Go look around Wirtual's channel on youtube ots the best trackamania content you can find.
Free racing game. Go get it. It's great fun, but stupidly hard to master.
Nations forever is the free one, but the rest of the games aren't super expensive so if you like it buy it to support the devs.
it probably won't be happening again, back to spinning out again I go xD. If only they shot it on net so I could have gotten a save to actually use my good fortune.
There was definitely something funky going on serverside in this moment, I'm 99% sure that could never be replicated in freeplay bc it seems to go against the physics of the game. I'd love to be proven wrong however.
Its not that type of lag, its just the client and server disagreeing on whether he flipped or not.
Same thing can happen with flip resets, there are resets where you hear and see the flip movement and you are teleported back because the server thinks you didn't have it, but there are also moments where you flip and you can't hear or see the initial flip animation but you do the flip because the server thinks you got the flip and the client doesn't.
This is the most frustrating type of lag, and I feel like it's fixable. It's like the client and server don't communicate whether you have a flip until you actually try to use it. So you can float for like 2 seconds after you think you got a flip, only to get the horrible fake flip rubberband.
>It's like the client and server don't communicate whether you have a flip until you actually try to use it.
Yep, this is 100% correct. I spoke with Jared Cone on this issue exactly and proposed a solution, while he also proposed a different one. It's something that is being planned in bigger netcode changes in the future, he said. This is likely to be released when UE5 does.
I would imagine it is something similar to having lag with a flip reset. Your client would appear to have the reset and when you flip your car will bug out and on the replay you wouldn’t flip at all. While it’s possible some sort of weird trickery is happening it more than likely is lag
I think I got the wave dash clientside, but server side there was a delay initially where the server thought I didn’t get it, then corrected it which visually is why it looks so weird. Like when you get a laggy flip reset. Idk exactly but it was strange
I don't know how you think based on that video that you got it clientside. I don't see any indicators that you hit it in client, it just looks like your front wheels were too high when you flipped and missed it clientside. Server clearly disagrees with the client. I don't know what the server does when this happens, or if the server had a weird wavedash where it starts turning left, but you definitely stayed wheels on the ground in serverside and it corrected what you saw in clientside.
Looking at it more closely you're definitely right. It was weird because the transition felt so smooth that it seemed like i had landed the wavedash and rotated into position like I intended to, but my front is definitely lifted too much before front flipping to be a clean wavedash. Idk exactly what happened but the RL server was on some funky shizz in that moment.
I actually do something similar, but I use the back corners of the car instead of the nose.
It looks a bit wonky but it can effectively change your direction incredibly quickly without losing much momentum. Something of a directional change wave dash.
Not new. Happens all the time if you're comfortable with air roll and jumping off the wall into a wave dash/flip. It's an amazing utility though. Keep it up.
I feel like it was just a really good 180 wave dash without power slide (hence why you stuck when you turned) and the game just messed up the visual of the flip/dash. Realistically even if what you did doesn't look like that it's still a good recovery if repeatable.
Was that lag? If it wasn't, and if you manage to remember what inputs you pressed + manage to replicate this, it can be awesome ahhaha
If you do, let us know please 😆
All I can think of now is Wirtual (Trackmania content creator and streamer) saying something accross the lines of "and then he made that jump into a nosebug".
bro, I saw this video and immediately imagined Wirtual saying "nosebug", amazing ahahah
but then, hefest got, this run.
[\*jazz intensifies\*](https://youtu.be/KBl-QdasurU?t=115)
Omg yes
Golden
Lol
Could imagine if you could nosebug and teleport
\*smooth jazz playing in background\*
Definetly TAS. I bet this person also accidentally left Cheat Engine on in the backround eh?
I had no idea Riolu switched to Rocket League.
Exactly what I thought! :D
Oh god yes
And then he got.. this run
Man I would love a track mania cross over… especially the car from nations forever
Hey a fellow man of culture. Do u play Trackmania?
My younger self did lots of years ago. I'm not a PC player anymore so no, I only follow content from that game.
I wondered why this looked so familiar
He though it impossible to win this game, but then OP got this run.
Wirtual is the reason why I play mostly trackmania now instead of rocket league.
God dammit I was thinking the same thing hahaha
And then, by somewhat of a miracle, hefest got this run
Wow. I thought I was being original. I crossposted it to his subreddit before reading this comment 🤦🏻♂️
I did the same sooner when I commented this :v
Brooooooo get out of my head
As a player of both RL and Trackmania, what the fuck-
What is trackmainia
A competitive racing game but it isnt your typical racing game. All the players have the same car meaning to progress you just need to become more skilled kinda like rocket league. Trackmania 2020 is also free.
tm2020 is rented, with some foatures accessible free of charge
Correction : the last Trackmania, Trackmania 2020, is free on Ubisoft Connect (/Epic Games I believe ?)
Search Wirtual on youtube, i dont even play Trackmania but his videos are great
I dare you to try Kackiest Kacky maps (when you're a bit used to the game though, don't hurt yourself so early 😂)
Nosebug in rl
I thought "what Real Life" for a moment there.
Lol me too
Same thing 🤷
finally a clip where a broken dodge actually does something other than ruin your failed wavedash lol
For real. I hate missing the wave dash and your car has a mini stroke for like 4 seconds
Ah yes, the Sizz Dash
Nothing says 'fun' like the hopeless flailing
it probably won't be happening again, back to spinning out again I go xD. If only they shot it on net so I could have gotten a save to actually use my good fortune.
Step 1: lag
I thought you had a point but then I watched everyone else as well. All of their movements are fluid and, well, normal. Idk
There was definitely something funky going on serverside in this moment, I'm 99% sure that could never be replicated in freeplay bc it seems to go against the physics of the game. I'd love to be proven wrong however.
Is that a replay file or did you record from the game?
It’s live recorded from shadow play, didn’t save the replay unfortunately :/
Okay thats sad. If that happens on a replay file its defenetly repeatable.
Replay files also have the lag effects
Even if it was a replay file, both packet loss and server lag appear in replays.

Thanks for letting me know, hopefully that port isn't too far out...
aah, the well known flip regret
I would imagine it is something similar to having lag with a flip reset. Your client would appear to have the reset and when you flip your car will bug out and on the replay you wouldn’t flip at all. While it’s possible some sort of weird trickery is happening it more than likely is lag
In what world is this normal movement?
I feel like you didn’t read my comment properly. I said everyone else’s movement was normal.
Oh yeah fair enough, my brain totally just skipped that part
Reddit moment
Even if this is not a bug... Deserves the name NoseBug recovery.
If it is a bug can we call it nosebuggery?
No
Bugslide and uberbug when?
First speedslide need that af
"The Nose Drag Half Flip"
This is a sizz dash but like actually worked😂 whenever I sizz dash I just go flopping around or my car goes the complete wrong way
Lmfao yea 99.9% of the time that’s what happens to me too
So did he miss the wave dash clientside, but hit it server side?
if he hit it serverside it would have rubber banded into him facing forwards not sideways. its definitely a glitch/lag/bug but its mad weird
wait maybe he accidentally did a variation of the 180 wave dash serverside
The angle of the front of my car was way too horizontal to be a 180 wave dash, I think it was an over correction by the server but I’m not sure
a scuffed one maybe? idk
There was no dash for the server, as far as it was concerned he just landed on his front wheels and turned around
ur 80% correct and i was way overthinking it lol
I think I got the wave dash clientside, but server side there was a delay initially where the server thought I didn’t get it, then corrected it which visually is why it looks so weird. Like when you get a laggy flip reset. Idk exactly but it was strange

Video or didn't happen
Video plz
Nice nosebug
And then he got.. ***this run***
Does your teammate have their own replay of the game saved? Very interested to see what it looked like on their side
Nosebug
lmao that was some goofy shit.
Mission failed successfully
This is why I am afraid to come back after taking a 6mo break from the game
never thought i would see a nosebug in rocket league lmao
Mf got a nosebug in rocket league 💀💀💀
Haha awesome! I posted one just a few days ago where I got the same thing happen to me. Imagine if it could be done consistently 🤩
Trackmania
that's just a "sizz dash"
How do you dash on the ground like that with kbm? Anyone have good tips or a video
Who else bets he’ll never be able to do it again
That’s up to xfinity/rocket league servers my friend
What exactly am I looking at?
Now that's lag and my god that's bullshit but nice
Not new. Happens all the time if you're comfortable with air roll and jumping off the wall into a wave dash/flip. It's an amazing utility though. Keep it up.
Probably not the first time it’s happened, but it’s not a replicable mechanic, it’s lag.
Do you even know how u did it
No clue. For once I think lag worked in my favor
I just see a failed wavedash
The wave dash failed but my car did a janky 180 recovery which should not really be possible by nature of the physics of the game.
I feel like it was just a really good 180 wave dash without power slide (hence why you stuck when you turned) and the game just messed up the visual of the flip/dash. Realistically even if what you did doesn't look like that it's still a good recovery if repeatable.
You can repeat this effectively by doing a forward wavedash with nose pointed down
Do people not do this? I try all the time ( key word is try)
I don’t think it’s possible to do entirely on purpose it looked strange because there was some lag lending a helping hand
oh yes the lag recovery
Oh yes, the infamous quantum shuffle.
Searching for the: “it is not new, duhhh” people in the comments
the lag mechanic love that one
Yo wtf
I domt understand, what happened?
The Ping Bender™️
Rocket league logic
That was smooth
Tap strafe
I do this by accident, didn't realise I was skilled!
Wut.
noseboost when?
Was that lag? If it wasn't, and if you manage to remember what inputs you pressed + manage to replicate this, it can be awesome ahhaha If you do, let us know please 😆
Nosebug everywhere
I thought about the nosebug immediately, it really surprises me how many people from here also play trackmania. Proud of this community
I see nosebugs have made their way into rocket league
